We are all connected
2008-01-29 01:37:00 PHOTOThought of the Day:?Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to a divine purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: That we are here for the sake of others...for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and inner life is built upon the labors of people, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received.? Gary Ryan BlairAs a ship moves through the ocean, it leaves behind a wake... the propellers churn away at the water, parting the face of the ocean and turning it into frothy white plumes of water. Would the captain of the ship be able to bring his vessel into port if he concentrated on looking to the rear of the ship? Would he be able to tell where he needed to go to buy peering out of his binoculars from the rear? The simple answer would be NO. The captain concentrates on where the vessel is being steered to and not where it's been. Some of us spend too much time thinking about the past.
