" The average American is like you and me, they're hard working, they want to enjoy their lives and they respect their fellow human being as much as any other Canadian around the table".... .Watching the US Open, I couldn't help but notice that Americans were cheering on players with last names like....Hantuchova, Vakulenko, Paszek, Vaidisova,Dementieva, and Golovin among others...None of them Americans.... some of them got standing ov...

These days however, there is no special someone to take walks with, no one to make a quick phone call if only just to say "Baby... Lance Armstrong A friend of mine told me today that a family member was diagnosed with leukemia. My heart goes out to her and her family. She ended her conversation with a very simple comment...."that's life".This is the thing about life. You just never know what is around the corner. Today, the wind may be blowing in your sails, and tomorrow, you could be facing the worst storm you can possibly imagine. Some people wait until they have been through a life changing event to change their outlook on life. As I matured, I began to realize that it doesn't always work out that way. When the angel comes calling, there is no time to pack your bags. The lights fade to black. That's it. It's over. It's all over... just like that, an unfinished book.I've come to realize that there is no dress rehearsal for life.... you're just thrown somewhat unceremoniously into it. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these?"I'm officially old" said Carrie in Sex in the City on her 35th birtday! :-) As for me, I'm not a day past 28! :P Hey...I'm serious! The way I look at it... I'm going to be 28 for the next couple of years...! On a serious note, I chose this quote simply because it means more to me than any other quote. Now, sitting here, waiting for her, I realize that I have never seen her in a winter coat, and for some reason that makes me sadder than anything else in the world.? Jacqueline WoodsonI heard it being said once that friends are God's way of apologizing for relations. It made me smile thinking about this. While I don't completely agree with the statement, I do believe that friends can sometimes be closer to us than family.I've made some very nice friends along my journey of life. Victor HugoAgainst all odds, from a simple bud, a beautiful, simple flower bursts forth. Think about it. A flower bud in and of itself is nothing more than a promise. It's almost the same as when you start to fall in love with someone. A million questions and not enough answers. How do you know that you'll find what you're looking for? Or does it even matter? Is LOVE that important?Does a flower bud wonder if anyone will actually appreciate what it'll look like when it flowers? Why then should we be so worried if someone is going to love us the way that we are?I think love is like a flower... Having taken that long, dusty road, i've finally arrived at this spot. Here I am, standing at the top of this hill as i look out into the future.I wonder, who will i walk the rest of this journey with? Is there only the ONE person that you are destined to spend your life with? What if you found her, and lost her?Spring reminds me that there is new life. The white snow blanket has melted away to reveal life all around her. Spring....spring is designed to put faith into the heart of a heart-broken lover. For some people, the only way they know "how" to deal with their problems is simply to be alone, to remove themselves from society, or to live in society but behave as if they were merely ghosts, observing without participating.Being a father to two kids, i want what every father wants for them...health and happiness. Self realization can sometimes be a rude awakening, but it all really depends on "how" you take it."Eu sei favela" is a state of mind for me.... I don't really know a favela, but the way I've lived my life over the past few years pretty much represent the inner workings of a favela. There's be pain, there's been moments of happiness only to be pulled down into the depth of darkness and pain, a little more moments of love mixed in with pain..... until i realized.... Today, with the promise of spring around the corner, I no longer feel this way. As I was driving home one day last week, I formed this idea in my head. It's not original, however, it is a combination of several similar quotations.I haven't written anything for weeks, and I must apologize for it. I've been busy sorting out some personal issues and have now passed the cross roads.Over the last three years, I've often wondered what kind of God there was who took such pleasure in my misery. Music - Ana Carolina & Sue Jorge

Some of you might know just how much I love Ana Carol ina . Her voice is so beautiful it makes me cry. This song is just wonderful, and I could not believe my good fortune to have found a video of the live performance of this song. Seu Jorge 's voice contrasts so beautifully with Ana Carolina's, as his strong voice weaves in and out between hers...There's a moment in this song that i really want you to pay attention to...Its when Seu Jorge sings Ɖ isso aƭ Um vendedor de flores right after Ana sings her part...pay attention to the way she smiles at him. In fact, pay attention to how she smiles at him each time he looks at her....Tell me what you see....tell me what you feel when you see them exchanging smiles. When i see this smile, it reminds me of what Brasil is all about.... I don't have the words to explain how I feel inside when I see Ana smile at Seu Jorge (2 minutes and 10 seconds into the song)...it shows "love" for her fellow man, it shows respect, regardless of his skin c...

There is passion, enmity, worship, love, but no friendship.ā€ Oscar Wilde I used to think that passion was the most important feeling in a relationship. Up to a few days ago, I believed so strongly in this. PASSION, it's that feeling that you just can't put a finger on, but you can FEEL it. A simple smile, a look, a kiss, a gentle touch...soft kisses, warm hugs, gentle caresses...Pass ion MUST be the most wonderful thing isn't it?Don't get me wrong, I love passion...but passion is also a tough mistress...But what about LOVE? Love is sure... love is dependable, love is forgiving. Over the years, passion has knocked on my door many many times... one by one, they have left.... but love...LOVE... she is still in my heart, this woman that I love. Best known for the short stories The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle. 1783-1859)Funny thing about relationships and love... I read a quote about how love is like a work of art, like a painting. I started to think really hard about this and slowly i finally understood what the writer meant.A work of art is created one brush stroke at a time. Imagine this brush stroke to be the events in the life of you and your partner. With each passing moment, with each event that marks your collective experience, there is one more brush stroke on your canvas.Think about this plain white canvas, slowly being marked with brush strokes...

The CorrsWhat Can I Do To Make You Love Me?One of my favourite bands is The Corrs - They hail from Ireland. They are 3 sisters and one brother. They make beautiful music. This particular song means so much to me, as I've found myself whispering these words over and over as if I were repeating my "Hail Mary's"....causing myself to wake from my sleep. You'll understand when you listen to the song....NOTE:I'm posting this today as there won't be a post tomorrow. I'll be away for the night so this will be the first time I'm missing a post. It's a little sad in a way!I'll try getting at least one post out this weekend!ciao!thoughtdujourTechnorati Tags:the corrsGenerated By Technorati Tag Generatorinspirational thought of the day, love thought day, thought day, thought of the day
