This afternoon I got the biggest suprise… Mr Pilot made it all the way into my office without me even knowing (I was on the phone) and suprised me! I am over the moon in my little red shoes with excitement - he’s only back for tonight but it’s really really really super cool to see him. We sat outside and had a ciggie together - then after he left he came back - with flowers. Pretty white roses… Today has been incredible… I have a smile on my face the size of the Grand Canyon! *Jumping around my office right now…..

Straight Outta Jo?burg?

Even with a departure time of 6:45pm, Jo’burg traffic refused to surrender & make our trip out of town for the weekend just that little bit easier… Styvie was driving my car - so I wasn’t too phased since we packed 2x 6 packs of Amstel in the car with us. I was however phased once we got further along the route & with a slight murmur to Styvie about the sudden pile up of cars in front of us… he braked and pulled out to the left of the car in front of us… stopping mere meters of the compounded cars right in front of us - SHEW! Hence, I put away more beers than expected on the journey there. No complaints from the passenger seat…just a bit of gurgelling….         Arrived at the River at a time I do not have a clue of….. had a quality alfredo pasta dinner, followed soon after by some of the unmistakable drinks that get drunk throughout our stays. Life is not hard at all?.

I’m sitting here sipping on my delicious capuccino. I would spice it a little, but I don’t think they condone those kind of spices in the work enviroment…. My mom’s been in Cape Town and Leisure Bay practically since the beginning of the year, which means I have been living on my own for the last 3 months (minus the 2 weeks she was back for), I am queen of my jungle…but this also adds the chores and daily runnings of a household, something a 23 year old party girl is not hugely fond of. After Dorris our Mafuti maid returned from her unfortunate spell with that car, I made sure she knew the one and only thing that was important - WASHING! Been facing some rather tough calls on work outfits the last few weeks and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. The Big Suprise?

Friday night Pete fetched me from the airport at 10:30pm… luck of the airport and my bag was first off the conveyor belt! We drove through the dodgy surrounding area of the Cape Town airport and it was actually really strange to be with him in his home town for a change. As we approached Stellenbosch, he gave the Sister a call to see if she wanted to pop out & take a break from her studying for a drink - this invitation was answered by a “Do you know I’m writing a 5 hour exam tomorrow Pete????” So that initial plan for the suprise of my arrival was out. I feel like shit. I look like shit. I may even smell like shit. Cannot wait to get home later and do nothing… this weekend really took it out of me. The post on it is going to have to wait as I am pretending to work while, staring blankly into the white of my screen, sometimes alternating between the zebra on my desktop. Truly thrilling. I indulged a little to much in the booze last night. And if you know me you’ll know that wasn’t all. It’s all a big suprise at the moment but I’m off to Cape Town tonight for my sister’s 21st birthday - seems I’m somewhat unorganised (no suprises there) but it’s better than the last time I went down and packed my bag at 4:30 in the morning PISSED!. yesterday was my sisters 21st birthday. i’m suprising her in cape town this weekend she’s got no clue.. i went for an early dinner with our godmother to celebrate. i wasn’t hungry but i ate half a margarita pizza anyway. i left sandton & called A to find out what the plan was? he was at an early boys night drinks thingie at bowls talking about boys nights thingies i suppose. when i got home i unravelled a blanket onto the lawn under the clear nights sky i listened to my favourite Stars cd… i’m strange like this i do strange things sometimes find different stuff relaxing i suppose as i lay there under the galaxy i felt happy with everything… there was a tulip obviously wouldn’t have it any other way. iBlog is grating my carrot?

I really hate moaning about stuff. I really really do, but this is getting a bit ridiculous! Photo uploading is not working for me anymore. It used to… Only when I uploaded in firefox. Never in explorer. My area for writing posts is fucked. The constant complaints about not being able to view my site are annoying. The make a page option is not working. You cannot view the additional page on any of the blogs. The blog updates rarely work. They don’t if you’ve written and uploaded in Firefox. Pete says there is a bug on the new server. I’m really sad that it’s become such a mission to blog. I really don’t want to move. But it may be the only option for now! I like you Mark, I really do… You’ve done real good with iBlog in general. But not so much at the moment…. Why can’t it be like the old days?

Jeez my night turned out to be such a goodie… left work, fetched Duncs [he didn’t want anyone to know but it was his first live game of cricket ever???] Arrived at Wanderers around 6pm, doubled up the beers in our classy plastic cups and hit the seats! Wow - there was a cool atmosphere there last night. Cricket was average viewing… Next photo is Duncs…. Most people parked their cars at Stu’s digs so once we’d all done the long trek home in various stages - we played some pool and took a few more beers for the team. I love beating little boys at manly games…. I think it’s fun & Duncan didn’t! Didn’t you know I was raised in a pub?

Got home last night. Found minature red roses in a reg bad with a red heart on my bed. Thanked my mom. She told me it’s from a secret admirer. I thanked her again. Got to work on the day of love. Popped out to fetch my bosses bouquet for his wife. I like my job. I went to Mr Price as well. Found a bargain R20 shirt. Walked back into work with the 20 long stemmed roses. After the hundreds of wow’s and who those froms… I walked upstairs and put the roses into a vase. Flowers pot depressed me. There were too many Valentine bouquets to speak of. And a rather large lady kitted out in V-Day colours - glorious sight! My cappucino is the most exciting thing today. And a phonecall from Mr Pilot in Botswana. I’ve canned my plan to do washing tonight. Rather go to watch some cricket. All the couples turned the free tickets down. So even if I’m on my own. They serve beer there. And biltong.
