2007-08-01 15:08:00 First of the month, and that means theme day is upon us. Today's theme was a "typical breakfast." There were many ways I could have gone with this, but I decided on my own typical breakfast. Like many Americans, I see breakfast as an optional meal. Occasionally I eat some cereal, drink some tea, and read. But most days I grab a granola bar on my way out the door.There are 100 cities participating in today's theme. Unusual
2007-07-24 16:15:00 There are a couple of unusual things in this photo. One is the taxi. We don't have taxi lines throughout town, one must call a taxi to get one. They are pretty expensive, and because Joplin doesn't provide any form of public transportation, most people have their own cars. So you don't see them too often.The other unusual thing is the pedestrian crossing sign. Downtown one usually has to fend for oneself if they are walking.

Joplin Globe
2007-07-15 14:29:00 This building houses the "Joplin Globe ", our newspaper. The building itself used to be a rather attractive old building, but a few decades ago Main Street underwent some renovations to make it look more modern. The result? This ugly metal facade covering a once nice-looking building.
