Day 109 | April 19 2007 | Invasion by the Dragon
2007-04-19 14:43:00 The Chinese dragon is every where... Chinese toys, Chinese food, Chinese goods, even Chinese motorbikes. Anything cheap, and it will have a 'Made In China' tag on it. Just saw on TV that a fluctuation in the Shanghai Stock Market affected the Indian Stock Market indicator, the Sensex. Day 106 | April 16 2007 | Hard Days Work - IT Engineer
2007-04-16 19:32:00 Information Technology is still a major growth driver not only in India, but also in the Asian subcontinent. Thousands of new jobs are migrating into the Asian region. The reasons are obvious.. cheaper and higher quality outputs from the region. This is IT outsourcing to BPO's. India has revenues of 6.4 Billion USD from offshore BPO and 36 Billion USD from IT and total BPO. Now thats India Shining!!That is Sandip, my colleague and friend working on a case with a North American customer, for a leading IT firm in Bangalore. Day 105 | April 15 2007 | Lights Out..
2007-04-15 16:50:00 Thats how my office looks when its deserted. There were not more than a few people on the floor today as it was a Sunday. I had wanted this shot for a long time, but could never take it as it was always bright with the fluorescent lighting.Luckily, the over head lights just went out and I knew they could come back within a minute. Not wanting to loose this window of opportunity I took this shot, without being able to set my DSLR. It was late afternoon, and the low sun nearing the horizon was bathing the floor in golden light. A window on the right, with dark sun control film, makes some of the surfaces blue in the shot. More About: April , Light , Lights

Day 103 | April 13 2007 | Conflict (buy insurance)
2007-04-12 21:44:00 I heard some comotion in the lane where I stay. Looking out I saw a well dressed, middle aged guy arguing with two men in army overalls; obviously soldiers. It turned out that the army guys banged the civilians car, and the car had a scratch or dent of some sort. The heated argument only ended after a few minutes.. and how.. the army men sat on their bike, and ran away as fast as they could with the poor civilian running behind them. Finally the army men escaped, leaving a very furious panting man behind. I hope the poor guy had good car insurance. More About: Insurance , April , Conflict

Day 95 | April 5 2007 | Brand Recall - Portable Ads
2007-04-05 16:11:00 Are we there yet? I guess we are.. We are in a place where marketers are grabbing our attention. Its apparent by all such portable vans, with power backup, parked strategically in high volume places. They make sure that you pass by them and 'look' at them, and do recall the brand on your next shopping trip. Brand Recall !Taken on the busy Koramangala main, while bicycling back home from my evening cycling sessions. More About: Portable , April , Tabl
Day 94 | April 4 2007 | Landing
2007-04-04 16:10:00 This is the year of cheap air travel in India. Cut throat competition is driving air fares to the lowest possible, sometimes even allowing passengers to fly for free. The fares are so low that even the 'common man' can easily afford flying on a yearly vacation. This was the first time I got decent plane shots on my D40. This is an Indigo plane, descending to land at Bangalore Airport. More About: April , Land , Landing
Day 93 | April 3 2007 | Thinking of what to buy?
2007-04-03 16:10:00 Inside a mall, its always fun to window shop. I was outside Archies Gallery looking at the tiny decorative items in the display window; while a lady inside was checking out the jewelery. She was taking her sweet time to do that, while I got this candid shot.Do women really decide on something. Is it, that if they choose something, they are sub-consciously accepting that there can be nothing better than that? Does that make them such slow shoppers, that it takes them forever? I guess its a buggy algorithm up there responsible for this trait, which makes the choosing so difficult.Hoping that the lady readers take this lightly... :P More About: April , Think , King , Thinking
Day 92 | April 2 2007 | Good Luck Windchime
2007-04-02 16:09:00 This is the wooden plate of a Chinese wind chime, a gift from my sister, hanging in my drawing room. The chime makes beautiful heart warming melodious sounds, even when a small breeze flows in. Feng Shui says it helps in generating positive or good Chi. I just love the sounds it makes, and I'm crazy about wind chimes now.I asked a colleague of mine who is of Chinese origin, what those engravings mean. He says it means good luck, and that everything goes your way. Just a normal greeting during the Chinese new year. More About: April , Good , Chime , Luck , Good Luck

Day 88 | March 29 2007 | Commercial Street
2007-03-29 16:05:00 This is a view of one of the lanes in Commercial Street , Bangalore's central shopping hub. Many lanes, lots of shops, and huge crowds. One can find branded stuff as well as the local varieties. This specific lane had lots of shoe stalls. Bargain hunting always works. You can easily get a pair of descent looking ladies footwear for as low as Rs.100.I took this shot with the camera held higher up to get some depth and perspective of the environment. Day 87 | March 28 2007 | Lord Unknown
2007-03-28 16:04:00 This is 'Lord Unknown '. Unknown only because I'm unable to identify him and know his name. Most Indian gods/deities/lords are so smart and handsome that the all look the same to me; unless that have some special weapons or equipment which they are displaying. Ya equipment is not exactly the right word, but I just cant think of any other one. More About: Know , March , Marc
Day 86 | March 27 2007 | Let there be light
2007-03-27 15:58:00 This is a Phillips made, 150W metal halide lamp (MHN-TD), being used to highlight a building. It must be blinding to be so close in front of it when light. This shot may seem cluttered, but I liked this because of the colour distribution in the reflector.. shades of the sky's blue and yellows of the building in front. Day 85 | March 26 2007 | The Art Of Living - A New Ray Of Hope
2007-03-26 15:23:00 This is a beautiful sunset seen at The Art of Living - International Centre. Also called as Ved Vignan Mahavidyapeeth, it is 21Km away from Bangalore city on the Kanakapura-Udayapura Road. Founded by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, this organisation has found runaway success in Indian and abroad. The place is a must visit for spiritualists although I had been there mostly as a tourist. They promise a new and hopeful life the spiritual way. From what I have come to know they do not preach based on any specific religion; but the Hindu scriptures - The Bhagavad Gita forms a base to their way of life. The building, the surroundings and other infrastructure and amenities are impressive. Once there, the clean air and the natural calm sets in a very spiritual mood. Do visit if spirituality interests you, or just for the sake of fun. More About: Hope , March , Marc , Ving
