Leaving for Egypt
2007-08-05 11:26:00
I'll be away for two weeks - so no harassment from me for a while. We're going to Egypt ! How cool (or should I say HOT) is that? We are going with an agency. It is not really my first choice but at least it is not supposed to be a really touristy one. Anyway that's what I am hoping for. Expect a hot and sandy photo report when we get back. I'm sure we'll have a blast and lots to share! I

More photos from the picnic
2007-08-02 07:30:00
Here are another three photos from the event described in the previous post. We were a little bit sorry not to bring our tent. The place selected for the improvised camping site was just plain great. It offered a beautiful panoramic view. There was this path planted with trees on both sides leading 20 meters from the old house to our improvised camp site. It was a peer-like short path with

Picnic season
2007-07-30 07:44:00
Summertime in Slovenia is always the right season for various picnic events. This Summer is no different. Every birthday of a friend or even a sunny weekend can be an excuse for another picnic. Locations of these events vary. Sometimes it's just a terrace by some friend's house and sometimes it's some remote place in the middle of nowhere. On one of the previous weekends one such event took

Into the bear realm
2007-07-26 07:38:00
Two weeks ago my girlfriend had an idea that it would be nice to go hiking again. It has been quite some time since our last hiking trip. You can read about that in this post. Our destination for the day was Kurescek (Kurešček in Slovenian). It is only 826 meters above sea level and we took an easy route - 4,5 hour walk up and back down. As the idea of the whole thing was getting in shape for

Never-ending sunrise
2007-07-23 09:49:00
Can you imagine how it would be, if a sunrise lasted for 24 hours? I must admit that until recently I haven't thought about that. It was a few days ago, when guys from the Apollo Team contacted me and I have decided to share this with you. The Apollo Team have started a project for which they need people from all around the World to participate. People from different time zones are necessary

Sailing day at work
2007-07-19 08:15:00
At a firm I work for we had a Sports day the other day. Above all it's a team-building thing and we do it two or three times a year. In Winter we usually go skiing and in the Summer there are many options. This time we went sailing for a day. Our day together started in Izola, Slovenia, where for starters we listened to some sailing theory. Soon after that we went on board. After some more

WASBE 2007 Conference, Ireland
2007-07-10 09:58:00
My brother is currently in Killarney, Ireland . He is attending a World Symphonic Bands and Ensembles Conference . So if you are in the neighbourhood from 8th to 14th of July I guess you should not miss this event. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend. He has been chosen to play in the WASBE International Youth Wind Orchestra as a lead tuba player. He is the only Slovenian musician to play

Malta experience
2007-07-04 08:08:00
The other day my girlfriend and I did a short presentation on our trip to Malta . This time it was for my mother's colleague and her husband. We always enjoy sharing our stories and tips with everyone interested. They are on Malta as I am writing this and I hope they are having a good time. If they enjoy it only half as much as we did, they will still have a blast. We went to Malta two years

Trip to Maribor
2007-07-03 06:59:00
Recently I attended a business conference in Mari bor, Slovenia. It was only a one day event, so unfortunately I didn't have much time to take photos. Nevertheless I decided to take a stroll through the old city center on my way back to the main train station. These photos were taken on the main city square. It seems like the City Hall with its clock tower is carefully overlooking the people

A Summer view of Ljubljana
2007-06-29 18:41:00
I consider myself lucky for being able to go to work by bicycle every day. I work just across the city center. Because Ljubljana (the capital of Slovenia) is a relatively small city, it is not very far. It's about a 25 minute ride each way. It takes me a little less in the morning (I am always in a hurry) and a bit more in the afternoon (I usually take time to enjoy the city center beat).

The bunny saga continues
2007-06-27 17:55:00
It has been some time since I have posted about the bunny nursery project (actually it was just two posts back). I think the only right thing to do is to finally share some info on the subject. Every day since my post the little orphan bunnies had a couple meals of goat milk. We didn't know this until recently, but the only two appropriate kinds of milk for little bunnies are supposed to be

I hit the Jackpot
2007-06-15 08:02:00
Or to be more precise - the Jackpot hit me! Let me explain a bit of background first... My girlfriend's sister has been working for the same company for ten years now. As it happens, this year has also been fifteen years since the founding of the company. So for the occasion the Big Boss decided to be generous. For the most loyal employees this meant a 4.000 EUR bonus in a form of a voucher at
Bunny nursery
2007-06-13 07:26:00
I don't know if there is anything cuter than young doggies, kittens, bunnies and similar little fur balls. Well this post is obviously going to be about bunnies! If you are wondering how the nursery fits into this story, you will just have to read along. Usually I go visit my grandmother every couple of weeks. She doesn't really live on a farm, but nonetheless has a dozen chickens, five hares

AGLOCO Viewbar finally ready for download
2007-06-11 07:34:00
I have had an Agloco link on my blog for quite some time (the hot babe in the right column), but haven't published a post about it. The time seems just right to do it now. After much anticipation Agloco finally released their Viewbar a few days ago (until now this was a missing link between signing up and starting to earn some surfing money). If you have already registered for an Agloco

Sleeping at a train station
2007-06-08 07:45:00
I remembered this travel story when I was writing the previous post. When someone mentions a train station, usually people get an image of a dangerous, filthy place, with graffiti sprayed walls and a bunch of suspicious characters hanging around. Well, that isn't so even with the Ljubljana train station. I am not saying that I'd like to spend a night on one of the benches there. Not that I

Home train museum
2007-06-06 07:29:00
Have you ever wished you had a really huge toy train? How about a real train? Or maybe even a train museum? Some people just don't settle for a wish. Some of us always want the real thing! Every day, on my way to work, I pass by this ordinary looking house (you can see my trusty old bike in the bottom right corner) I guess this one guy living there has settled for nothing less than a real

Food in Belgrade
2007-06-02 11:46:00
No matter where you go, you have to eat. Right? Right! So what can one get on his plate when in Belgrade ? Here are a few dishes from different restaurants around Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Despite of the fact that Belgrade is nowhere near the Adriatic (or any other) sea, one can choose from quite a wide choice of seafood dishes. Some of the seafood restaurants are even supposed to be

Trip to Belgrade (Part 2)
2007-05-31 07:37:00
As I mentioned in the previous post my girlfriend just got back from Belgrade . This time I was left home alone, so the credits for these photos go to her. Driving around the old part of the city one can still see effects of US bombings on surrounding houses. It is one of those reoccurring stories. First the US Army (still reffered to as the aggressor army by locals) buys bombs and pays its

Trip to Belgrade (Part 1)
2007-05-29 07:52:00
This time unfortunately I wasn't the lucky traveler. I just lent my trusty Olympus camera to my girlfriend. She went on (kind of) a business trip to Belgrade - the capital of Serbia. The interesting thing is that the Youth Day (25th of May) was just while she was there. Because I suspect that some of you are not familiar with the meaning of that, a history lesson follows... /BEGIN

The Queen Symphony
2007-05-25 07:05:00
In Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, the best time of year is approaching. It is usually around this time, when the old city center starts to bounce in the rhythm of many bands and street performers. This usually lasts till mid September, when things cool down again (this in my opinion is the best time of year to visit Ljubljana). It is a true delight just to go for an evening walk through

It's pretty easy if you go party with me... Read on for more juicy details and money winning tips. ;) In Ljubljana (the capital of Slovenia and a center of Slovenian student life) the Student fair takes place once every year. In my humble opinion it's the best student party of the year. One of its main attractions is a large offer of various traditional culinary dishes and beverages (mostly
Climbing the highest peak of Pašman island
2007-05-16 08:44:00
This was one heck of a climb! So kids don't try this at home (unless you are an experienced Himalaya-hardened climber). We decided to do this without renting a local Sherpa. Friends tried to persuade us not to go, but they didn't succeed. The mountain was calling us! We started our tour at our base camp at 0 meters above sea level. It took us two days to get used to such extreme height. We

Ante Gotovina graffiti
2007-05-08 08:30:00
All over Croatia various graffiti in support of general Ante Gotovina can be seen. He was accused of war crimes against Serbian population. After some time avoiding arrest he has decided to surrender himself to Haag. Our night fishing spot was also marked with one of them. It reads: "Long live Ante Gotovina".
