Weekend home
2008-04-27 04:34:00 I made the trip up to Youngstown to see my parents this past weekend. The weather was great all and I did a lot of photography. My mother and I went to Pittsburgh for the day on Friday and I shot 6 Tiny Planets (I'll post after I get them merged). Today my father and I went to Mill Creek Park and I took some pics of his new GTO and the old mill. Enjoy. TheBobBlog More About: Home , Weekend

Glass Octopus from West Elm
2008-04-19 03:39:00 West Elm finally opened the other day in Easton adding to the collection of home furnishing stores. We currently have:Crate & BarrelRestoration HardwareDesign within Reach (... the reach of rich people)Pottery BarnZ GalleryWhile browsing in West Elm, I found the perfect addition for my fish bowl, a glass octopus. This little guy cost $20 and is the perfect companion for my beta fish (which I named Fang). They had some other cool glass marine life like puffer fish & crabs but their not on elms website. Fang likes to swim between the legs.TheBobBlog More About: West , Glass , Octopus
LEGO Grass Planters
2008-04-17 03:58:00 After getting a lot of feedback on the LEGO Park Planters I did a few weeks ago, I decided to take the idea further and create other "vignettes." Here's a few images of the Grass Planter series I'm starting. These two examples are just normal pots with wheat grass. I went with wheat grass because it's very easy to grow and has bold color and thick blades (cat grass can also be used). White LEGO bricks were used to create an artistic feel. I have two more grass planters in the works along with a zen garden one that I will be posting in the coming weeks.[ Club House ][ Observation Blind ] more images on MOCpagesTheBobBlog More About: Lego

New Fish
2008-04-12 16:33:00 The other day I was wondering around Zgallery on my lunch break and found this awesome little fish bowl. I haven't had a fish since I was a kid so I figured it was time to get another one. I went with a beta fish because they don't poop as much at goldfish.TheBobBlog More About: Fish
Tiny Church
2008-04-11 03:14:00 You know how you'll be driving on the highway and you'll see something cool and wonder what side roads you would have to take to get there? Well, for the past year or so ever time I head down towards Athens OH, I pass this old church that sits up on a hillside that looks like it should be in a movie or something. So the other day I scouted some back roads on google earth to find it. I think it made a cool tiny planet. TheBobBlog More About: Church , Tiny

"Make it work" T-Shirt design
2008-03-28 02:44:00 I'm not a big fan of reality/contest shows but I'm savvy enough to know about Tim Gunn of Project Runway and his catchphrase, "Make it work" which make me appreciate this awesome T-Shirt design by Chris Glass. LEGO Planter (updated)
2008-03-26 02:02:00 A few days ago I posted about Park Planters which cost a steep $150. Well today I was browsing around Smith & Hawken on my lunch break and found the little air fern that was included in the $150 wallet rape. The fern only cost $5 so I decided to just build my own planter out of the the best building materials known to man, LEGOs. (The plant is actually in it's own pot inside the structure).-----------------------------U PDATE:I just got an email from CharlesAndMarie.com telling me how much they loved my Lego Planter (how cool is that?!) and they will be retailing the original Park Planters for $100 not $150. They have some different designs then the original Science&Sons site. Their site has a lot of cool stuff on it so be sure to check it out. / mine vs. theirs /--------------------UPDATE:I made another one...TheBobBlog

Rolling Stone Keith Richards models for Louis Vuitton
2008-03-24 02:14:00 Keith Richards, the legendary guitarist and songwriter, and founding member of The Rolling Stone s, is the latest celebrity to feature in Louis Vuitton's advertising campaign.Produced by Ogilvy & Mather, the campaign restates travel as the fundamental and defining value of Louis Vuitton, interpreting it as a personal journey and a process of self-discovery.In this latest visual, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Keith Richards is pictured cradling his guitar in a hotel room he has transformed by draping black scarves with skull motifs over the lamps and placing a skull on a bedside table.TheBobBlog More About: Models , Keith Richards , Rolling Stone
Frozen Grand Central
2008-03-24 02:08:00 What happens when 207 undercover agents freeze in place at the exact same moment for 5 minutes at Grand Central Station in NY? This is a prank on a "grand" scale. Over 200 people gathered at Grand Central Station in New York to pull off a 'frozen in place' act. The onlooking travelers who weren't part of the act were mystified as to what was going on.TheBobBlog More About: Frozen

Some cool stuff I found on the net...
2008-03-23 00:46:00 CIRCLE GRASS GARDENCarrying on the Japanese obsession with greening the living space, this large circle comes with everything you need to grow your own lawn. The circle contains a tray in which you place the high-tech growing medium, made up tiny sponge balls impregnated with nutrients. Sprinkle the prairie grass seed on top, water and wait. After about a week the grass will sprout and start to grow. Keep it trimmed or let it grow wild, it's your choice! it will last for 4-5 months, after which time you can buy a refill kit and start all over again. Curb Your Enthusiasm
2008-03-20 03:05:00 I'm hooked on Curb Your Enthusiasm ...For those of you that don't know what the show is about:Each half-hour episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm features verité-style footage of David (playing himself) at home, at work and around town, as he gets into predicaments with fictional and real-life personalities. With cast regulars Jeff Garlin (as manager Jeff Greene) and Cheryl Hines (as wife Cheryl) reprising their roles, the series features appearances by guest celebrities playing themselves or character roles. Candid, unsparing and self-deprecating, Curb Your Enthusiasm brings the off-kilter comic vision of Larry David--co-creator and co-executive producer of one of the most lauded comedy series in TV history, Seinfeld--to HBO. The series blurs the lines between reality and fiction, as David (playing himself) and a cast of real and fictional characters are followed around Los Angeles by a ubiquitous camera that chronicles the private, often banal world of a (relatively) public man. Hulu.com
2008-03-14 01:57:00 YouTube is great for short clips. But not so great when you're wanting to watch the episode of The Simpsons you missed last week. Following an extended beta period, Hulu is here to help. A joint venture of NBC Universal and the usually evil News Corp., Hulu is a free online video site that offers a large selection of full-length high quality (and legal!) TV shows and movies from more than 50 content providers like Fox, NBC, MGM, Sony, Warner Bros., and Lionsgate. Watch the full-length movie of Ice AgeTheBobBlog

Tiny Planets - Columbus
2007-12-29 03:44:00 The other day I spent a few hours out shooting more tiny planets. The sky started out cloudy but soon became very clear. I was able to shoot on the Santa Maria down on the waterfront, which was a rare occurrence since the ship is always locked up. While I was taking pictures of it, two guys pulled up in a pickup and told me they were doing maintenance on it for 15min and I can take some pics on the ship if I wanted and I couldn't pass that up. What do you guys think of the new planets?TheBobBlog More About: Planets , Tiny , Columbus
