2007-05-17 04:25:00 I use a Canon Rebel XT and shoot outdoors; I do not have a "real" studio, but I have created a small light box and do a bit of experimental indoor shooting also. I enjoy nature photography, but am not limited to that area. I hope to one day be more skilled in all areas of photography - it is important to me that I am always learning something new and being challenged to share my view of the world with others. I shoot for myself and for clients, but most of my shooting is for me, because I enjoy being alone in natural settings. Mother Nature is my greatest muse. My favorite aspect of being a photographer is the feeling I get when I connect with other forms of life and find I can capture their aspect properly. There really isn't any part of being a photographer that I do not like. All PhotoCin's images Harris' Checkerspot Butterfly Food Prep More About: Artist

French in Fremont
2007-05-04 08:55:00 Bonjour! My name is Caroline. I have a passion for anything my eyes can see, and anything my hands can touch - naturally, when digital photography became available and I graduated, I bought myself one of those little (but handy) 6MP camera. People who don't know me think I'm a little "trigger happy". People who know me say "She is the trigger trigger trigger trigger".... Click is my middle name. I love digital but never retouch any of my photos. For me, what you see is what you get. Your photo is ugly? Take another one. And another one. And another. Until you get good. Then, keep on until you get better. Digital has made photographers, because it has made photography affordable, and made fast progress possible (click. not good. new setting. click. better. new setting. click. ahhhh. much better) I love going out to shoot. So beware - next time you're around walking, the crazy clicks may be coming from me... All French in ... More About: Fremont , Mont

Increase Your Image Sales
2007-04-23 07:05:00 Describe your image so Feature Pics visitors and search engines can find it. I'm sure you've heard the Woody Allen quote that 80% of success is showing up. How do you increase your chances of selling an image by 80%? Ensure that people find your image on the net. We wrote about software that recognizes and describes images in words, but let's face it, the current image search methods depend mainly on the use of image descriptions and links associated with an image. First of all, FeaturePics will continue to improve a lot of things on it's end. We are making the site more user friendly. In the meantime, you can help us a lot by describing your images more effectively. The main information you supply about your image is, image title, image description (caption), and key words. 2007-04-23 07:03:00 My photography started as an attempt to document the amazing places I have been and the things I have done while traveling and climbing around the world. It really took off when I got my first digital camera. I have also experimented with more "stock" oriented photos, but trying to capture an image that shares the adventure is my passion. I also enjoy creating large panoramic images. All rockphoto's images Mountain reflection sandstone surface More About: Photo , Artist

2007-04-20 08:51:00 Based in Southern California, most images are taken from my costal travels to Central California and the nearby wine regions. There have been a few visits to areas like: Napa, Sonoma, Oregon or Japan for variety. The images reflect these travels and were shot with either a Canon G6, Contax G1, Bronica ETRSi or Noblex 150 E2 panoramic camera. The latest addition is a Canon 5D which brings a wealth of technology into capturing those photographic moments. Some shots are set-up compositions and those are photographed using strobes and light modifiers. I am a traditionalist at heart having learned with film and my desire is to relay scenes as faithful as when I experienced it. Digital technology allows great freedoms and some may have more massaging if the creative juices feel it will bring more to the viewer. For the most part, scenes are faithful in the majority of instances. Enjoy Michael Fong All mfongphoto's images ... More About: Photo , Artist

2007-04-18 09:12:00 Hi all, I'm french photographer from Reunion Island, and on this little indian ocean island, we've an active volcano. So I considere myself as a very lucky girl because to be near lava and eruptive crater and to shoot them is an amazing thing ! For a long time, I was reporter for local newspaper, and took my shoots with a Nikon D1. Since 3 years, I'm free-lance again (better way to stay zen, to shoot what you like, to have a cool life?). I'm working now with Nikon D2X, and still keeping the traditionnal F90X for slide. Being a photographer is my life. Feel free to discover my work on Featurepics ! 2007-04-18 09:09:00 Hello and thanks for looking in. I'm still in the amateur ranks but working on that. I use an old Nikon N50 film shooter and we're still kind of getting use to each other so be patent and I hope to continue to improve and give you even better quality as I go. Love doing the outdoor shots. If something catches my attention I get it on film for all to see. Don't look for me at home. I'm usually found on a pond, the river or the banks of some small creek in the back woods of Southern Alabama. All of my shots are taken there for now. Please look around and I hope you find something that catches your eye..Thanks again....James All James57's images Nice Shade More About: Photo , Artist , Ames

2007-04-15 03:51:00 I am a creative photographer and artist in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. I use my Olympus Evolt E-330 with accoutrements. I use Photoshop CS3 (beta), always keeping up with the latest technology to enhance my images when needed. I feel that you need to take the best picture you can take, but enhancing it is necessary at times to get the best out of it. I love photography, and specialize in conceptual, close-up and macro, but take pictures of whatever inspires me. I get inspiration from everything and everyone. I try to carry my camera with me wherever I go. What I love about photography is that I have really learned to see creatively by looking through a lens. 2007-04-15 03:44:00 Beth Conant is a stock photographer who has come to this career late in life. She is a retired educator who now has time to cultivate her love of photography. Her images include photos from her years as a resident of Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) as well as a growing collection of Maine/New England images. She now specializes in nautical/coastal imagery. Her images have been published in Digital Photography and Mavista Magazines as well as several commercial publications, on bookcovers, and for hotel decor. She was an early adopter of the digital technology and shoots with a Canon 5D camera. She edits and processes her work in PhotoShop and while she believes that an image should be the best that it can be straight out the camera, she is also willing to enhance a photo's beauty and saleability through the application of this photo-enhancement software. 2007-04-12 09:07:00 Well, I am a student at Indiana University and am studying political science. In my free time I like to build webpages and take pictures. I am also an avid equestrian, hence why horses are often my muse. I love film cameras, but have recently taken to my Panasonic DMC-LZ3. Many of the pictures that are posted came before the Panasonic and were taken with my parents' old Sony. I prefer film mainly because I feel it is more in-depth and artistic, but for my web business, photos from a digital medium are more practical. I am for good, efficient digitals that have amazing lenses rather than one with more than 5 megapixels. Many of the photos I take are for clients, but I tend to also take a lot of shots for fun. If I am around a horse, I always have a camera, hence all the shots that I have. I hate getting blocks. I like to go out and take pictures and feel something, but realize that the painful reality is that it rarely happens. I love the feeling... More About: Miss , Right , Wing , Twin
Photography by Oleksiy Maksymenko.
2007-04-12 06:04:00 Oleksiy does corporate imagery, photographs buildings, portraits, and reportages. He does many different types of shots, but every shot or photo illustration is exactly what he wants to capture, and what he wants to say. A lot of Oleksiy's images relate on an intellectual level, not just emotionally. The actual composing takes planning and the most detailed work. Some images come together in hours others take days. I told Oleksiy I really enjoyed his conceptual illustrations, for example, "Apples instead of hamburgers" on the left. It seems like beauty surrounds Oleksiy. Recently he started to work with a new model - little "pink girl" (this is what we call her at FP). By the use of digital magic, Oleksiy photographs Sophia and the background separately and later creatively merges them to form images that will never be "retro". I can imagine this photo being made in the 16th century, the 19th century..., our ce... More About: Photo , Photography , Men , Graph

More articles from this author:2007-04-12 00:22:00 Finding photos: A new algorithm developed at UCSD that adds word tags to images can increase image-search accuracy and efficiency. Above, features from a picture are assigned a likelihood that they belong in certain categories, such as ?water? or ?person.? Credit: Gustavo Carneiro, Antoni B. Chan, Pedro J. Moreno, and Nuno Vasconcelos Researchers at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), have developed a new image-search method that they claim outperforms existing approaches "by a significant margin" in terms of accuracy and efficiency. The researchers' approach modifies a typical machine-learning method used to train computers to recognize images, says Nuno Vasconcelos, professor of electrical and computer engineering at UCSD. The result is a search engine that automatically labels pictures with the names of the objects in it, such as "radish," "umbrella," or "swimmer." And because the approach uses words to label and classify ... More About: Photo , Photos , Word , Hat , Find 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 |
