Details to come.The website will be 'dark' for a few days as it is getting a facelift. This blog is due for a bit of a change as well.I love new beginnings. Thanksgiving and Oatmeal Raisin
2007-11-21 05:08:00 This week has been all about food, baking and making no apologies for indulging. At any given minute during the last two days, you could have caught me with either a spatula or a cookie sheet in hand. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, no surprise since it is almost synonymous with food. I have no shortage of blessings and since I make a huge effort to be grateful on a daily basis, I don't get too into going around the table announcing my most cherished feelings of gratitude. Most of the time, that which I am truly grateful is extremely personal and I would rather share it with a very close friend or family member on a random day over a cup of tea and french Madeline's. But generally speaking, I'm with many others in celebrating this day and being grateful for family, friends and health. In case I don't get to post again until after Thursday, I hope that those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving have a happy and safe one. Since I don't have a picture to go with this post, let m... A Few Things
2007-11-15 03:16:00 Just some random thoughts, in no particular order.Worried about my dad. He had pneumonia last week and the chest xray showed a nodule on his lung, which could be nothing but of course I fear cancer. I wish he had a better primary care doctor, but he is stubborn and refuses to change doctors. Dr. can't see him until Friday.Had to reschedule my Las Vegas trip. Camera is not working properly. It's on it's way to Canon for a tune up. Fell head-over-heels for the Showtime series 'Californication'. Best series I've seen in a long time. If you have Showtime on Demand, please watch it, you won't be disappointed.Reading 'The Secret'. It's pretty good, nothing new really but it is a nice dose of inspiration. Read 'Freakonomics' and loved it. Next up is 'Middlesex'.Too lazy to add hyperlinks, so sorry.Maybe spending several weeks to months in Florida, depending on how my Dad's health is. I'm thinking I'll be out in the next couple of weeks.Here are the details so far:I'll be doing a total of 10 sessions.The cost is $50.00 per session (up to four people).Each session includes the digital negatives and an online, password protected gallery.I'll be choosing one family to 'model' a custom, coffee table art book and will be giving the family a copy of the book as a gift.Negatives will be available in time for holiday cards.If you are interested in a Vegas session, please email me so I can start forming a list.I'll have further details soon!

2007-10-26 06:44:00 Thank you to everyone who emailed, texted, called or commented about my safety in regards to the fire situation.I feel very grateful to be spared the tragedy of leaving home and leaving everything behind. I count my blessings every morning and pray for those who have not been so fortunate. On the lighter side of things, here are some pictures from last weekend, right before the tragedy broke. Even at the beach we could see the first evidence of the smoke. This was way before the chaos erupted and all of us thought it was just an isolated fire beyond the mountain.I'm amazed by the fog here. Sunday morning on the back porch. I looked out and could not see anything but the neighbor's house below us:::Then just five minutes later, it started to lift:::So much color in SoCal:::Almost ripe. I love picking fruits and vegetables from a home garden:::I can't figure out how to take a picture of this one without standing almost directly above her. If I get down on her level, she ref...

Costco to the ER in Two Minutes
2007-10-16 03:40:00 Today was not a fun day. The short end of it was I ended up in the ER with Curt's Grandma who fainted while the two of us were at Costco minding our own business buying bulk Tide. With her being 79, any health related scare is a HUGE deal and I was quite worried for a while there. She is fine and wonderfully resting in her recliner at home. One thing I relearned about myself-I am eerily calm in stressful situations. I'm sure all the 911 disaster calls I once took helped in that department. Tomorrow is going to be a better day.
