Desert Prayer
2008-05-20 17:00:00
San Francisco de Asis, Taos, New Mexico. This church reportedly moved Ansel Adams so much, it made him change his career option from being a pianist to a photographer. Here's my twist on North Americas most photographed church.

The Beginning
2008-04-16 03:09:00
2nd in the "Theme Park" series. Other than a slightly hue addition in Photoshop, these are raw out of the camera.
Risen
2008-04-11 06:00:00
First in a series taken last October at a theme park in Denver. I found earlier today possibly the most impressive camera I've seen, what's even better is you can download it ;) Check it out.

Desert Towers
2008-03-28 14:54:00
This image reminds me of "Planet of the Apes" (original, of course!) for some reason, I can't get the picture of 3 time traveling astronauts walking across a desert out of my head... But it's only Arches National Park, UT, luckily ;-)

Driver
2008-03-04 21:03:00
Slightly off topic - Nine Inch Nails have just released their latest album for download off their site, even if your not a fan, this collection of instrumental works is truly inspiring, helped me get through a huge back log of scanning :-) For $5 lets support the artists, not the middle man record companies (urgh!) BTW... Ilford FP4, it's all about the grain ;-)

The View Goes On and On...
2008-02-13 21:07:00
Panorama view of Canyonlands, Utah, comprising of 5 shots stitched together. I made a (foolish!) attempt to climb up to Mud Lakes yesterday, I underestimated the amount of snow on the south facing accent. We were fine till we got about a mile and a half, then the snow started getting deeper and deeper, eventually we lost the trail and the snow depth was 4 - 5ft deep and soft. Snow shoes became useless and my snow loving Husky had to crawl across the top of the snow. The day ended up being one long day hike up Elk Creek, also under 2 - 3ft of snow, grrr.

Winter Depths
2008-02-11 18:07:00
Taken a few months back when you could still see Elk Creek, it's disappeared under layers of snow now. We've had 70 - 90mph winds for the last 4 days straight, winter is showing no sign of breaking yet.

Sunset Echo
2008-01-30 17:39:00
Echo Lake, Colorado. I have plenty of winter scenes to post, I even have about 3-4 rolls of B&W to scan, but the winter is starting drag out for us (as it would at 9,000ft!) so summer is the theme of the photoblog currently.

Dreaming of Spring
2008-01-22 17:41:00
Scenes from last spring, dug up from the archives. I felt this image was rather appropriate today, looking out the window today at the 2ft of snow on the ground. When the weather is like it is during the winter, it amazes me how the mountains thrive with life in the spring.
