Fishing

Taken down the road in Park County on a day off fishing this Fall. I wasn't sure about posting this image, the balance of reflection to sky was putting me off a bit, oh well, I'll give it a go.

Edge of the Dunes
2008-12-01 04:48:00
Great Sand Dunes, CO. Back from our trip to frozen Wyoming and the Tetons, hopefully a lot of good shots will be coming back from the film lab. We had a very memorable Thanksgiving, we spent a lot of the day digging the 4x4 out of snow ditch on a forest road with a dog food bowl, I was lured by the promise of a mountain lake, it was not to be :(

Things Are Looking Up
2008-11-18 03:32:00
Up on Kenosha Pass, Colorado. Aspens are truly multi-seasonal trees, every season they take on a different persona and have a different look, can't wait for their winter image ;)

Overcoming Darkness
2008-11-10 18:43:00
First batch of scans from the new Pentax k1000, very happy with the little camera, the control over exposure and aperture is incredibly fine. This image taken at Sand Dunes National Monument, Colorado on Ilford Delta 100, a bit of levels and contrast adjustment in Photoshop, nothing you wouldn't do in a dark room (if I had one!).

From inside Redwall Cavern in Marble Canyon, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ. This cavern was first discovered by Powell on his Grand Canyon expedition, he claimed it could hold 50,000 people, it's big but not quite that big ;)

The "Color" in Colorado
2008-11-04 17:16:00
Kenosha Pass, Color ado. Old timers in the area have said the Aspens this year have been the most colorful in a very long time, I guess everyone in Denver heard that too, the roadsides along Hwy 285 were packed.

Hard Living
2008-09-30 06:21:00
The restored Section House at the top of Boreas Pass, Colorado. This shot was taken back in July but we again today revisited the buildings that were built in 1882 to house the towns population of 150 who serviced the mining railroad to Breckenridge. The buildings stand at an elevation of 11,500ft and once had the highest post office in North America, they were abandoned in 1937.
