Slient Winter
2009-03-04 17:28:00
Taken just over a month ago on a hike up Deer Creek, CO. What a contrast this week has been to this photo, we've been issued "Red Flag" days one after another and complete burn bans, incredible how dry this winter is.

Still Roaming
2009-02-18 20:11:00
Buffalo near Evergreen CO. The temperature this day was about 4 or 5f and the metal of the tripod was having nasty habit of sticking to my fingers. Moving the aperture ring with frost bit fingers is a challenge :)

Knock Out
2009-02-15 22:54:00
Old Jeep near the Wind Rivers, WY. I did a bit of Photoshop work to bring out the personality of the car but a lot of the quality came from the 15 year old Kodak slide film I was using. I had no idea if the roll would turn out, the camera has a sticky shutter and the battery was too large for camera (they don't make the same battery anymore) hence the light meter was off. I love unpredictable analog ;)

A Rocks Story
2009-01-15 23:58:00
Another scan from a long lost roll of film, taken somewhere in Mt. Evans Wilderness, Colorado. I returned from a looong road trip down to New Mexico, then over to Houston and back up to CO. Didn't get too many photos, but might have some interesting results from the Holga and a 15 year old 35mm film.

Weathering the Storm

I found a roll of B&W film from last summer I had not scanned, pretty sure it's an expired Kodak Tmax. Scene taken atop Mount Evans, Colorado.

Winter Cabin
2009-01-02 10:35:00
Happy new year!! I just received an email from JPG mag, they're closing down operations, not a great start to the year. I always viewed them as one of the corner stones of the photo and photoblogging community, I hope the communities built around this and other similar sites will weather the current financial climate. Photo taken in Tetons National Park, Wyoming. Fuji Velvia 100.

Fishing
2008-12-14 05:20:00
Taken down the road in Park County on a day off fishing this Fall. I wasn't sure about posting this image, the balance of reflection to sky was putting me off a bit, oh well, I'll give it a go.

Edge of the Dunes
2008-12-01 04:48:00
Great Sand Dunes, CO. Back from our trip to frozen Wyoming and the Tetons, hopefully a lot of good shots will be coming back from the film lab. We had a very memorable Thanksgiving, we spent a lot of the day digging the 4x4 out of snow ditch on a forest road with a dog food bowl, I was lured by the promise of a mountain lake, it was not to be :(

Overcoming Darkness
2008-11-10 18:43:00
First batch of scans from the new Pentax k1000, very happy with the little camera, the control over exposure and aperture is incredibly fine. This image taken at Sand Dunes National Monument, Colorado on Ilford Delta 100, a bit of levels and contrast adjustment in Photoshop, nothing you wouldn't do in a dark room (if I had one!).

From inside Redwall Cavern in Marble Canyon, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ. This cavern was first discovered by Powell on his Grand Canyon expedition, he claimed it could hold 50,000 people, it's big but not quite that big ;)
