Canyon Start
2008-09-07 16:05:00 Around Lees Ferry where we started our 4 day rafting trip down the canyon. I didn't realize until I scanned in the film, how similar every shot of inside the canyon is :( More About: Start
You'll See it, Sometime
2008-09-03 18:16:00 The Holga at White Sands National Monument, NM. Ilford Delta 100. Nine Inch Nails played in Denver last night, honestly the most intense, energy filled two hours of concert I've seen. An enormously creative group, truly inspirational...
Timeless
2008-09-01 18:21:00 Looking down river in the Grand Canyon. We went yard sale shopping on the weekend and found what was technically my first camera, an original, mint condition Pentax K1000. I found one of these cameras when I was very young, sitting by a stream in a National Park in Western Australia. I had it all the way up till I was 17 when I gave it away to a then girlfriend for her art class (d'oh!!!). When I eventually got back into photography and started photoblogging about 4 years ago, the thought of getting one these cameras again has been on my mind. Well, finally got it and for $25 too :) More About: Timeless

Crooked and Broken
2008-08-27 19:36:00 Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. I don't think there's anywhere else in the country where the sky looks as blue as in Utah, maybe it's the contrast against the rocks and soil? More About: Broken
In the Shadows
2008-08-26 16:13:00 Upper Grand Canyon. Taken with the Ansco Shur-Shot JR. with what I believe was expired Ilford Pan F 50 120. Great film but combined with the fixed 1/60 shutter speed of the shur-shot, I had to be selective of the shot, especially down in the canyon. More About: The Shadows , Shadows
Canyon Bend
2008-08-25 02:44:00 First in the Grand Canyon series from our recent trip down the Colorado River. Taken during a hike up to an Indian structure in the side of the canyon walls. More About: Bend

Serpents Lair
2008-08-21 19:30:00 On a country road side somewhere in the middle of nowhere New Mexico. I should know better than go into a derelict building like this in the middle of the desert. No sooner had I taken a few paces, I hear the very distinctive rattle out of one of the corners of the building, I don't think any photo is worth an encounter with a rattle snake... More About: Lair
Gathering Moss
2008-08-18 15:54:00 Finally upgraded to PixelPost 1.71 yesterday, I got sick of all the spam coming in and getting through the filters, so far so good with this install. Another Elk Meadows open space scene... Have a great week! More About: Moss , Gathering

Still Standing
2008-08-16 00:28:00 We got back from the Grand Canyon yesterday complete with 8 rolls of film to be developed, should be ready mid next week. In the meantime I realized I have about ten rolls here still waiting to be scanned, so here is the latest roll, taken atop Mt. Evans just before we left for NM last month. More About: Standing

Markings in the Sun
2008-07-12 16:27:00 Three Rivers Petroglyphs, New Mexico. I've seen another photo of this scene at sunset or sunrise and that was what inspired me to visit the area, I think this was taken at about 4pm. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to do White Sands and Three Rivers at sunset ;)
Power to the People
2008-07-04 15:37:00 Happy 4th of July USA!!! Wind turbines somewhere over Kansas. I took a bunch of these shots on slide film but half the roll got exposed, guess it was meant to be digital ;) Lets see what the photo lab sends back. More About: Power , People , The People

Lighting the Woods
2008-06-20 10:39:00 I guess the first rule of photography should be never shoot into the sun, but the Holga does some pretty trippy, unexpected things...... More About: Lighting , Woods
I Could Get Lost Out Here

Desert Prayer
2008-05-20 17:00:00 San Francisco de Asis, Taos, New Mexico. This church reportedly moved Ansel Adams so much, it made him change his career option from being a pianist to a photographer. Here's my twist on North Americas most photographed church. More About: Prayer , Desert
Over the River
2008-05-12 18:31:00 View from a bridge over the Rio Grande (I think!), near Taos, New Mexico. We stopped here on the way to the Eathships, a very cool concept and community, check them out here. Photoshop photo merge from two frames, Nikon D70. More About: River
