Dark Water
2007-11-19 17:35:00 Mud Lakes in Mount Evans Wilderness, CO. Taken on the Nikon D70, the lighting in clouds illustrates the difficulty I mentioned in the previous post with intense lighting on the cameras CCD sensor, in some cases film just can't be replaced :) More About: Dark , Water
The Lone Rangers
2007-11-16 17:58:00 Riding across a Mesa in New Mexico's Gila National Forest. Fuji Velvia 100, I've run across few films that handle the intense mid day sun of New Mexico like this film can, the D70 certainly has a tough time with it. More About: Rangers , Lone , Ranger

Legless
2007-11-06 23:48:00 A few days ago I was playing around with an ancient flat bed scanner I dug out of the garage. I got some interesting results with some old 120 film negatives, however I don't think I'll be making a habit off it, at 10mins a scan, I think there are better ways ;) Oh and before anyone asks, they're legs off an old fireplace.
Taking in the View
2007-11-05 18:17:00 Got the Yashica D back from camera repair on the weekend, $120 to fix the shutter and frame counter. The almost comical part is that the camera is only worth $125. Fuji Velvia 100 on the... Yashica D. Arches National Park, Utah. More About: The View , View , Taking

Ruins in the Woods
2007-11-01 18:19:00 I found the remains of this very old cabin off trail, high up in the mountains a few months back, nestled in the trees on the edge of a remote lake system. It looks as though the construction was abandoned, whether the builders season ran out and they succumbed to the cold or they found a better location, who knows! Old cabins like this remind me of Dick Proenneke, who lived and built a log cabin in the Alaska wilderness, if you can get a hold of the video or book titled "Alone in the Wilderness", of this amazing man, you'll be awed at what can be achieved without the conveniences of the modern world. I'm half tempted to go finish what the builders of this structure started ;) More About: Woods , In the Woods , Ruins

Natural Formation
2007-10-30 17:55:00 Arches National Park, Utah. Shot with Fuji Velvia 100, 120 format. I actually meant to take another trail which went right up to arch but the sun was setting rapidly. We drove 360 miles that day to get an late afternoon view of the park, and I took the wrong hiking trail! Nonetheless it was a productive trip :) More About: Natural , Ural

At the End of it All
2007-10-24 17:42:00 Slide scan from the Pentax zx-50 of Darwin, Australia. Ever have one of those images that you just can't get right? Too light, too washed out, too much saturation or not enough?? This was one of those!
Where's My Horse?
2007-10-23 16:55:00 Expired Agfa Black and White slide film. I picked up a roll of this now out of production film a few months ago from a store in Denver, not many of them left, which is a great shame, I always got such good results from this film. You never know, maybe Ilford will pick up where Agfa left off. More About: Horse
