New Cold War?
2007-08-14 17:23:00 It hasn't been ten years since the USSR collapsed but a new cold war is already raising its head. In the past couple of days there has been several incidents that remind us of the cold war.On the 9th of August two Russian bombers flew very close to a large American military base in Guam. Russians claim that it was practise. For me this flight means that Russians have again started to test their rival's readiness. This kind of practise was very usual back in the days of Cold War . It is also worth mentioning that the Russian were Tu-95 -planes that are capable of launching nuclear missiles on air.The Americans were ready and the planes didn't dare to defy American fighters that were ready to take them down.Another recent news is that Russians made an expedition to the North Pole. Films where a Russian flag was planted there spread around the world. However, it wasn't long until specialists realized that at least some parts of the film were fakes. You may now wonder what this has t...

A couple of easy ways to increase your traffic
2007-08-07 14:13:00 I've studied traffic and its sources closely in the last months.I've found three easy ways to increase the exposure of your blog:1. BloexplosionI've had very positive experiences on this site. It is based on earning "credits" by browsing the blogs of other members. One credit equals one visit to your blog.Normally getting noticeable amount of traffic with this method would take hours of browsing. I've developed a few effective ways to earn more traffic without spending hours.Concentrate your browsing. This method allows ou to get more "mystery credits" that are rewards for browsing "24/7". I've noticed that browsing only a couple of times a week in longer periods has increased the amount of mystery credits over 50%.Vote and join Battles of BlogsVoting in battles of blogs can also increase the amount of traffic you get. Voting is generally far better "paid" that normal browsing. You get 1-3 credits for every single vote.If you have a blog of good content and visual, you should t... Pingo: virtual calling cards
2007-08-07 12:49:00 THIS IS A SPONSORED POSTDo you feel that you pay too much for your calls, but you don't want to switch to alternative medias? Pingo is one way to relieve the financial pressure. Pingo provides virtual calling cards for low rates. There are no hidden fees. You get what you pay for. This is a very important aspect for me. Far too often good offers have a catch that you realize afterwards. This one doesn't. If you join now, you get 5$ in free calls. They also have another campaign going on which means that you get 4 hours of free international calls for signing to Pingo. 4 hours means a lot of talk with your relatives in distant countries. Pingo also offers a service called Ratewatcher that helps you to find the best deals with very little hassle. No more digging through tens of websites or piles of prepaid cards! What if you don't have a normal phone? Pingo also offers Pingo Mobile, a service for mobile phones that allows you to save up to 90% of your international calls. ... 2007-08-03 15:47:00 This is not a sponsored post!I've recently had a lot of problems with color profiles. Different printers use different color profiles and you have to use them to be sure that the colors are right. The problem is that Firefox or Internet Explorer can't understand these profiles.Apple's Safari browser is able to do that but they've only been available for mac users. Now things have changed and you can get Safari for Windows.Check out the comparison and understand.I highly recommend downloading Safari for better color performance! Road to Perdition
2007-08-02 19:32:00 Road to Perdition is a movie published in 2002. It's a classical mafia film starred by Tom Hanks, one of my favourite actors.I'll be very brief with the plot as usual. Nothing is worse than spoiling a good movie. Oops. I did spoil something: It's a good movie. Hanks' plays a hit man who is forced to run away from his home with his son. The movie focuses on the relationship of the father, his "job" (I can hardly call killing people a job) and his son who sees what his father does.Like I said, I like the movie and it's a good one. Definitely the greatest reason for this is Tom Hanks and his performance. I'm constantly amazed by his capability of adapting to very different roles. I loved Forrest Gump and I love Road to Perdition too. Another plus goes for the father-son relationship that is actually interesting and relatively likely for a crime movie. The worst part of the movie is the story. The leading character loses everything and lusts for revenge. How many times have I see... More About: Road
The Village
2007-07-30 16:52:00 The Villa ge is a movie released in 2004. It tells a story about a small village isolated by forest. Rumor has it that there are monsters in the forest. There is a unspoken deal between the people and the monsters: Villagers don't go into woods and monsters won't come to the village. But this peace treaty is coming to an end. I won't bother with telling more about the story. You probably prefer seeing the film before the story or you already know it. Let's just say that everything isn't what it first seems... What I really liked in this movie is the photography. The usage of fog in particular adds a lot of atmosphere to the film. The visual look overall is very good in this film. Unfortunately other areas aren't so strong. The story is something that you won't hate but you won't love it either. It has surprises and tension but it lacks The Thing. The last piece that puts it together is missing. The actors are good but their characters are quite the opposite. I haven't ...
Mike Strutter - Who is he?
2007-07-20 19:05:00 For some time ago I told you about Strutter, a tv show on MTV. The show is based on videos sent by watchers and the commets of Mike . I found the character interesting and decided to search for more information. Mike Stutter is a character created by Paul Kaye. Kaye is also the man behind Dennis Pennis, another fictional character who inteviewed celebrities and asked them really weird questions. According to wikipedia, Mike killed Dennis by chokin him by his own microphone cord. Back to Mike then. Mike is the classical stereotype of an asshole. He swears, drinks, is extremely impolite towards everyone and everything, he's violent and gets into fights regularly. Last but not least: he's a drug addict. By checking Mike's website Struttergear.com, you can get a pretty goon picture on the character. The website features Struttergear incommercial, where Mike tries to sell varying services and gadgets varying from a microvawe oven with a slave kid inside to a smoking-box that ke...
Keepcash.com
2007-07-19 19:55:00 THIS IS A SPONSORED POST!Keep cash is a site dedicated to online coupons, free codes that allow you to get discounts and other advantages. In one sentence it equals saving money. The design of the website is really minimalistic and simple, which means you can find what you're looking for without extra ado. I am going to show how it works with an example. I like Apple products, especially ipods and now I would like get the most out of my money. In the right corner on the frontpage there is a search tool. I type apple there. The search leads me directly to the Apple Store coupons. There are a lot of tempting offers there: free shipping for over 50$ purchases, buy a Mac and get a free Ipod and many others. The best part here is that the coupons are for Apple Store, not for some small, possibly unreliable web store. I don't want to take any chances with my money and with keepcash.com I don't have to.I chose the "College Students - Buy A Mac & Get A Free iPod Nano." -coupon. Pressing th...

28 days later
2007-07-17 19:37:00 I saw this movie for a while ago but my mind was focused on other matters and I was unable to share my thoughts about it earlier. I'll start with a couple of basic facts, storyline and links concerning the movie: 28 days later is a science fiction/horror movie directed released in 2002. It is written by Alex Garland and directed by Danny Boyle. The movie is set on modern England and tells about a break-out of a disease that turns humans into violent monsters. It focuses on a group of people who are trying to survive and get to safety. What I like in this movie? Story Zombies and stuff may sound a cliché. And they actually are. But it doesn't bother me too much. I like the story because, instead of messy killing, it focuses on the outbreaks effects on the lives of the survivors. How can normal people face the fact that almost everything that used be exists no more? Photography Propably the best part of the movie. Hypnotic views of empty London and various other great views a... More About: Days

MTV Strutter
2007-06-21 08:53:00 I watched MTV's Strutter by chance yesterday evening. It's a show that is basically about mocking everyone and everything, cursing and generally bad taste. You thought that South Park or other shows that have a lot explicit language and questionable opinions about minorities were bad? Then you obviously haven't ever seen Strutter. From MTV website:If clip shows were buildings Strutter would be a public toilet – seriously filthy and always out of order...Featuring clips from every corner of the globe, Strutter unleashes his own brand of commentary on whatever he feels like. And his philosophy? Simple: "I f****** hate the world and everything in it." Sounds @!$%*#? great! The show is peppered with profanities, spiced with scorn and generously sauced with some of the most sickening behaviour on the modern airwaves. As you can see, MTV has intentionally produced a show that laughs at victims: people who have suffered. I have to ask where the line goes? How far can one go with bad tas...
PPP Direct: Another nice way to make money by blogging
2007-06-14 20:11:00 bloggingPPP direct is a whole new way to connect advertisers and bloggers. It allows advertisers to easily advertise on desired sites. The advertiser clicks the special button (you can see one on the left sidebar) and sends a offer to the blogger via PayPerPost. Unlike other similar programs that keep half the money themselves, PayPerPost Direct charges only 10% of the revenue. In others you get more money than you would with other programs. For me it is a reason good enough to stick with PayPerPost Direct! If getting better profit tempts you but you're worried about the complicated use of the tool. I have tried this tool and it really couldn't be simpler. All you need to do is add a button similar to one I have on my site. Advertisement offers created via that button will appear as simple links on you PayPerPost -profile. To complete the offer you have only have to provide the link to your blog entry and make sure it meets all the requirements of the deal. After that your entry ... A Poor man's memory
2007-06-13 20:43:00 The name of this entry is also a name of a song by Explosions in the Sky. They always have a song that fits my mood and expresses my thoughts perfectly. The story I'm going to share with you is something that touched me deeply. It is about an older gentleman. A gentleman who has been through a lot more than most of ever will. These things have left their marks.I saw this man for the first time in a national park not far from where I live. He moved with an electric inva-scooter and watched the nature and birds in the park. I felt sorry for the man. I thought it would be nice to talk with him a little and went to him. He was eager to talk and was obviously happy to have a conversation.First we talked about the birds but it wasn't long until he started to tell me about his past and how he was crippled. He told me that his disabilities were caused by a surgery that went wrong. He got nerve-damage in the surgery. He also told me that in his earlier day he had cycled over 150 miles in a ... Fear and marketing: Less fat and safer cars
More articles from this author:2007-06-11 20:00:00 People have always known how to take advantage on others fear. In the past it was mostly used in wars. Infected corpses was thrown into fortresses. Diseases from the corpses was a potential threat but the danger itself was what caused cities to fall. This is the case in marketing nowadays. It is fear that makes people buy many things. Good examples are cars and special nutrition products.Cars become safer everyday. The test results make a couple of years old car to look like a moving coffin. That creates a need to get a new, safer one. Often the safety is acquired by getting a bigger car. Obviously this development has no end. You get a bigger car to feel safer but soon your neighbour gets even bigger one. It won't be long before you start to look for even safer car.I also mentioned nutrition and food products. They're also heavily based on fears. Overweight and related issues are one of the greatest challenges for modern health care to face, I admit that. But there's a vicious ci...
