Sometimes it’s the pacifistic anti-war/anti-Americans , sometimes it’s the over-zealous anti-abortionists, sometimes it’s over-caffeinated churchgoers trying to keep us from the depths of hell, and sometimes, when we’re exceptionally lucky, it’s all three, united in some awkwardly obnoxious triumvirate all standing side by side in outspoken harmony. It appears to me that they are trying to use their democratic right to freedom of speech and for that I don’t blame them. If the law says it’s ok then they might just as well use it. If they would stop for one minute and think about what they believe, they would realize how ridiculous they are. I am for the ethical treatment of animals. Animals deserve to be respected and treated right. I hate PETA. How can someone be a “person for the ethical treatment of animals” and be against “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals”? Seems odd, but it’s not. PETA is not for the ethical treatment of animals, it is an organization that thinks animals are gods. 2007-05-17 07:48:00 Society overuses the word “hero”. Often times it is used to describe an average person in the right place at the right time. Being a hero shouldn’t be like playing a slot machine, it’s about character. I think our society likes to have heroes so they take the liberty to institute them at will. A person who sees a young girl fall into water and rescues the child from drowning is NOT a hero in my opinion. It is expected for any person in that situation who was competent to go after the child, to do it! It bothers me when people tell a story that involves a person that did what any other decent human being would have done in that situation, and calls them a hero. Who wouldn’t go after the girl? There’s nothing heroic about doing something that you are expected to do. There is nothing heroic about being in the right place at the right time. This could possibly be the saddest day in American baseball, a.k.a. “America’s Pastime”. It could easily be the end of baseball as we know it. It’s not that I care that much about Hank Aaron; I never saw him play; I wasn't even alive. I do feel bad for him though. Some guy comes along 30 years later to break his record. Not just any guy though; a guy who cheats. 2007-04-20 21:56:00 I waited nearly a week to see if I could find a way to not write about the Virginia Tech shootings. Apparently I couldn’t do it.A school shooting could possibly be one of our countries saddest, most frustrating occurrences. Each shooting is an individually horrific thing. Each shooting affects greatly the people’s lives that are directly involved, while affecting less the people’s lives who only hear the stories; the people who can only use imagination to understand the hurt of victims and their families. No matter what though, the point is that everyone who hears the stories are involved; everyone who hears the stories are affected. Some people are affected in ways that I feel need to be at least brought to light. Some people cope, not by sadness and grieving, but with anger. Anger isn’t always a bad thing; however, sometimes it leads to thoughtless blame.There is no “cure” for school shootings.Why some people continue to blame administrations and gun laws (or lack of) ...

After reading some comments made about my previous posts it seems rather apparent that some people are amazingly ignorant and are quite content with it. How does this happen? The interesting part of ignorant people is that not only are they content with it. They bask in it. They take pride in it.
