Convicted Terrorist David Hicks To Be Released From Prison
2007-12-12 15:33:00
THE confessed alien unlawful enemy combatant David Hicks will be released from Adelaide's Yatala prison before the New Year to a hero's welcome from a misguided few.But the new Labor Government will not block the application for a control order on Hicks, which has been sought by the Australian Federal Police, and the Left-wing political activist group Get Up, which campaigned heavily for the ALP's new star MP Maxine McKew, has walked away from its orange-suited pin-up prisoner. The agitation over Hicks was always more than a little ridiculous and designed for the most part as a means of attacking the Left's biggest bogeyman, former prime minister John Howard, and through him US President George W.Bush.Hicks was sold to willing sympathisers as a misguided youth unjustly held by the US. His US military defence lawyer Major Michael Mori won the accolades of the latte-lapping set for this portrayal of the South Australian and his assertions were unchallenged by the ABC on almost all ...

Britian: Muhammad To Overtake Jake As Most Popular Name
2007-12-12 06:06:00
Mohammed is set to overtake Jack as the most popular boys' name in Britain as a result of the high birth rate in Muslim families, which is driving the British population to a record high.A report from the Office of National Statistics says the highest birth rates are in the Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities, both predominantly Muslim.Jack was the most popular boys' name last year, chosen for 6,928 babies. Mohammed - taking into account all of its variant spellings - overtook Thomas to lie in second place with 5,991 babies named.Muhammad Anwar, a professor of ethnic relations at Warwick University, said: "Muslim parents like to have something that shows a link with their religion."The Muslim population is generally young and you expect a higher birth rate."Economic migrants from eastern Europe have also helped to boost the population, which is set to rise to 65 million by 2017 - an increase of five million. By 2031, the population will be over 70 million.SOURCE(Hat Tip: Islam I...

Saudi Woman Speaks Out Against Lashes For Rape Victim....But Still Believes
2007-12-12 04:43:00
This from Arab NewsFirst she says this....Initially, the woman was sentenced to 90 lashes. When her lawyer appealed the sentence and spoke about the injustice of the situation to the media, her sentence was increased to six months in jail and 200 lashes.I, as a Saudi woman, committed to my government and its equal treatment of all its citizens, refuse to accept that this will be the fate of this woman.Sounds great on the surface until she says that those who commit adultery should be punished by the rule of law.Punishment in the case of zena only applies if four witnesses testify to the actual penetration. In practical terms, unless the participating man and woman were engaging in lewd exhibitionist behavior, it is nearly impossible to incriminate them.I know many people like Crossroards Arabia will not note this or may not notice it at all. Basically this woman is saying don't flog the woman for rape BUT if someone can prove adultery then they should receive punishment. I am sorry...

Scotland: 50 Percent Of Citizens Believe Islam Is A Threat To Their Culture
2007-12-12 04:36:00
Just ask CAIR they are just a bunch of Islam ophobes.THE number of Scots who hold discriminatory attitudes towards Muslims has increased over the last three years following the terrorist attacks in London, new figures showed yesterday. As increased immigration from around the world changes the social make-up of Scotland , the latest survey of attitudes showed the majority of people are willing to embrace different cultures. But despite government campaigns to tackle racism, a hardcore of people continue to believe prejudice is acceptable. And while attitudes to gay people and women have improved, one in five people think civil partnerships are wrong and one in seven think a woman's place is in the home.In particular, attitudes towards Muslims and ethnic minorities have deteriorated in recent years. Half of those surveyed considered the increasing number of Muslims in the country as a cultural threat and one in five feared ethnic minorities would take their jobs.Equality groups said suc...

Iraq: Christian Woman And Son Found Dead In Dumpster
2007-12-11 22:14:00
The bodies of a Christian woman and her brother were found in a garbage dump, police and church officials said Tuesday in the southern city of Basra, where women have grown increasingly fearful of religious vigilantes blamed for the deaths of at least 40 women.Gunmen in an unlicensed white SUV with darkened windows first grabbed the brother ? 31-year-old Osama Marzouq ? and forced him to call his sister, 41-year-old Maison, and ask her to leave work and meet him on Sunday, the officials said. Their bullet-riddled bodies were discovered Monday, according to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they feared reprisal.Basra's police chief, Maj. Gen. Jalil Khalaf, has said patrols of motorbikes or unlicensed cars with tinted windows are accosting women not wearing traditional dress and head scarves, known as the hijab.A 21-year-old history student at Basra College of Arts said women are harassed both at the school and in the streets.SOURCE

Austria: Muslims To Become Majority By 2010
2007-12-11 21:58:00
Austria's Muslim community continues to grow, and according to a study by the Austrian Society for International Understanding, Islam will overtake Protestantism as the country's second-largest religious group by 2010. Christian religions had to suffer a massive decline in membership over the last 30 years, the study said. According to the 1971 census 6.49 million Austrians were Catholic. By 2006 that number had shrunk to 5.63 million. The number of Protestants went down by 120,000 to 326,000 faithful during the same period. At the same time, the number of Muslims in Austria increased 15- fold - from 22,200 in 1971 to around 400,000 in 2006, the study said. Muslims may already be the second largest religious group in Austria, but in absence of precise census data conservative forecasts predict Islam to take over second position by 2010.In view of these "dramatic developments" the society called for a "re-evangelization" of Europe and increased dialogue with Islam.SOURCE

Saudi Arabia Giving Lots Of Money To US Colleges
2007-12-10 13:58:00
And I am sure their motives are totally pure. Two years ago this month, a Saudi prince caused a media splash ? and raised eyebrows ? when he donated $20 million each to Georgetown and Harvard universities to fund Islamic studies.Although few details have been released about how the money has been spent, at Georgetown, the money helped pay for a recent symposium on Islamic-Western relations held in the university's Copley Formal Lounge. The event attracted about 120 persons: students, Catholic priests, men in business suits and several women in colorful head scarves who all came to hear religion experts from several American universities, as well as from Bosnia, Ireland and Malaysia.A member of the Norwegian royal family said he flew in just for the event."I just came here to learn the language scholars are using about these things," Prince Haakon of Norway said.SOURCE

The school's head faces a stealing charge.Mr McGowan said he had taken the extraordinary step of closing Muslim Ladies' College in Kenwick because of allegations, including fraud and the use of unregistered teachers who were focusing mainly on religion, rather than the WA curriculum. The school's acting director, Zubair Sayed, appeared in East Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with stealing. The court was told the charge related to an alleged theft offence -- of $355,934 -- in April, when Mr Sayed, of Sarah Close, Canning Vale, was a company director of Muslim Links Australia Ltd.It is alleged the school was overclaiming for state and federal government funds for students. Its always the Jews you know. Two Muslim women who worked for a large City brokerage firm are taking a rare legal action at an employment tribunal, alleging that Jewish clients were channelled away from them to non-Muslim colleagues. The women co-workers claim they were religiously discriminated against by their bosses at Swiss stockbroker Compagnie Financière Tradition when it came to the allocation of such clients. The women, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, are being represented by solicitors Russell Jones & Walker. In documents prepared for the London Central Employment Tribunal, they allege that they suffered complex and multi-faceted discrimination while working at Compagnie Financière Tradition. They claim they were discriminated against on racial and religious grounds. The case is a unique example of religious discrimination laws being used to challenge how City businesses divide up work among their employees. In the religious-discrimination element of the claim, one o...

Iraqi Soldiers Training in US Disappear
2007-12-07 04:09:00
A case of Jihadist infiltrating the military? This via Counterterrorism BlogOur government often creates some of our nation's biggest headaches including where the critical issue of national security is concerned. We have all read accounts of the "Zetas", heavily armed paramilitary soldiers who are employed by the Mexican drug trafficking organizations who had been trained by our own military and DEA officials. They had been armed and trained by our government with the hope that they would assist our nation in combating drug and alien smuggling along the incredibly dangerous border the United States shares with Mexico. Of course they have turned on us and now, using the tactics that our government taught them, pose a serious threat to our citizens, Border Patrol agents and other members of the law enforcement community. Now we are being told, in this article, that Iraqi soldiers who were brought to our country for training have gone "missing" in the United States! This is an extremel...

Britian: Muslims Reject Culture But Embrace Technology
2007-12-06 14:02:00
Great article at Pajamas MediaNot long ago, my colleague at the New English Review observed a young Muslim woman on the London Underground: She was wearing tight dark trousers, a trendy silver plaited belt slung about her hips, a parka with luxuriant fake fur trim pulled up over her head and a bright turquoise scarf over her face. At first glance I thought she had cut eyeholes in the scarf but on closer inspection she had folded it niqab style about her forehead and the rest hung down over her nose mouth chin and neck. The bulk of the hood held it all in place. [?] She got out her mobile phone. ?Yeah, but, yeah, nah, I can?t breath can I? I got this thing over my face naw, innit? ?Nah, I see ya later ? station, innit?? It is ironic that someone un-British enough to wear a niqab is nevertheless British enough to prattle away in Estuary-English ?yoof-speak?. Then again, I have often observed Muslims adopting the least attractive aspects of modern Britain, while spurning it...
