Makvan Mouloodzadeh, a 21-year-old Iran ian who was accused of committing anal rape when he was 13, was executed in Iran on the morning of Dec. 5, according to a release from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission ( IGLHRC ) . The execution occurred despite an order from Iranian Chief Justice to cancel it.In issuing his order, Chief Justice Ayatollah Seyed Mahmoud Hashemi Shahrudi thought that the death sentence violated the teachings of Islam, according to 365Gay.com.At Mouloodzadeh?s trial, witnesses retracted their prior testimonies, claiming that they had been forced to speak their statements. However, despite this development?and the fact that Mouloodzadeh said that he was coerced into a confession?an Iranian criminal court found him guilty in June and recommended death.?This is a shameful and outrageous travesty of justice and international human rights law,? said IGLHRC Executive Director Paula Ettelbrick, IGLHRC?s executive director. ?How many more young Ir...

When Christians in the southern Philippines heard that the government and Islamic rebels had agreed to expand a homeland for Muslims on their island, they panicked."We started buying some weapons to defend our families and community," said Berting, a coconut farmer, whose farm sits in the heart of a mainly Muslim province in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.Berting, who declined to give his last name, is a Catholic whose grandfather settled in the area nearly 80 years ago when Christian farmers moved to the lush jungles and valleys of mostly Muslim Mindanao.A conflict between Catholics and Muslims has raged on the island for the past 40 years, resulting in the deaths of 120,000 people. But now the sides say that they are close to a final peace deal and might sign an agreement next year. After a decade of stop-start negotiations, the government and the country's largest Islamic rebel group agreed last month on the boundaries of a proposed homeland for Muslims, who make up a...

TORONTO - A Canadian Muslim who says racial profiling was behind Air Canada's decision to deny him a ticket to board a flight three years ago filed a formal complaint Tuesday with the Canadian Human Rights Commission. While attempting to purchase a ticket in Vancouver to fly to Victoria in May 2004, Shahid Mahmood said he was flagged as a security threat, despite his valid government ID - and the fact Air Canada did not yet have a Canadian "no-fly" list."I was stunned at their refusal to allow me to board this flight," Mahmood told a news conference in Toronto. The sales agent at the time said his name was "flagged" by the system and that he also wouldn't be able to fly the next day. He was also warned that future flights aboard Air Canada would require him to show his passport, he said.Mahmood's Chilean-born wife, however, was allowed to purchase a seat without incident.Despite repeated attempts to find out why he was flagged, the Toronto-born editorial cartoonist said the airline...

Canada: Radical Islam Spreading In Prisons
2007-12-04 11:48:00
MONTREAL -- There are no plans to isolate prisoners with connections to terrorism in order to avoid the possible indoctrination of the other inmates to radical Islam , a spokesman for Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day said yesterday."It's always case by case," spokesman Melissa Leclerc said. "The prisoners are evaluated upon their arrival. Everything depends on their degree of risk, their needs, and on the rehabilitation programs."Leclerc was responding to Sun Media reports yesterday that Canada 's secret service is concerned by this new phenomenon in our federal prisons -- the recruitment and indoctrination of prisoners into radical Islam. The concerns were unearthed in a "secret" report from the Integrated Threat Assessment Centre, prepared in January 2007 and obtained by the Sun Media's Montreal newspaper, Le Journal.'RECENT PHENOMENON'Although this problem is well documented in other countries -- especially in Europe -- it's a "recent phenomenon" in Canada, says Manon Beru...

Palestine: Christians Being Driven From Churches
2007-12-04 03:45:00
The ever-dwindling Christian communities living in Palestinian-run territories in the West Bank and Gaza are likely to dissipate completely within the next 15 years as a result of increasing Muslim persecution and maltreatment, an Israeli scholar said Monday."The systematic persecution of Christian Arabs living in Palestinian areas is being met with nearly total silence by the international community, human rights activists, the media and NGOs," said Justus Reid Weiner, an international human rights lawyer in an address at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, where he serves as a scholar in residence. He cited Muslim harassment and persecution as the main cause of the "acute human rights crisis" facing Christian Arabs, and predicted that unless governments or institutions step in to remedy the situation - such as with job opportunities - there will be no more Christian communities living in the Palestinians territories within 15 years, with only a few Western Christians and top c...

Norway: Jihadist Roams Freely
2007-12-03 23:05:00
Update on Mullah Krekar who said "It is allowed for me to kill Australian soldiers in Iraq."Norway wants to deport this man to Iraq. They can't deport him because they have a law that says they can't deport anyone to a country that has the death penalty. My question is why would they want to deport him? Why should he not be jailed in Norway for his terrorist connections? Mullah Krekar, once a jihadi superstar, has faded from the international limelight, but in Norway he won't go away.An outspoken Islamist, founder of the militant Iraqi Kurdish group Ansar al-Islam, and targeted by CIA agents in 2003, he was the incarnation of a truly bad guy.Nowadays, even American intelligence agencies seem to have little interest in the 51-year-old Iraqi Kurd. At the same time, the five-year-long "Krekar case," as it is known in Norway, grinds on. A month ago, an Olso court upheld an expulsion order against him, and he was thrust back onto the Norwegian front pages."Sadly, it has become a farce...

Oh the crazy world we live in! Jawa Report has all the details.Muslims meet up for the annual Texas Dawah Conventiona, what could possibly go wrong? You may remember that two years ago Yahya Ibrahim, who was to be a featured speaker, was denied entry into the U.S. by Customs agents. The event is being billed as "focusing on the family", but the speakers include known associates of convicted terrorists, terror supporters, and 9/11 skeptics. In addition to the various seminars, some of them given by supporters of the most conservative brand of Sunni Islam, the event will also have a variety of carnival rides--and a petting zoo! What's interesting about this year's meetup of Islamists in the U.S. is that an FBI agent will be a featured speaker. Ironically, Special Agent Randall Clark appears to be on the cyber crimes task force. Given that Islamists are experts at using the internet to propagandize and recruit new blood for jihad, you'd hope he was there in a monitoring capacity.Don'...
