2007-07-26 05:09:00 Airports in San Diego, Milwaukee, Houston and Baltimore have been put on alert for potential terrorists who could be doing dry-runs testing to see what they can get onto an airplane. The July 20th bulletin was sent out following multiple incidents where passengers were caught with "wires, switches, pipes or tubes, cell phone components and dense clay-like substances," including block cheese. Since last September four questionable seizures have taken place, where a passenger (of either sex) managed to raise the attention of security guards for carrying odd combinations of parts that they had questionable reasons for. For some reason these incidents have gone unnoticed by national media and the bulletin warning potential danger is being treated as a normal occurrence. The largest Sunni political group in Iraq has made a list of demands that if not met will cause the group to boycott the national government. Celebrity Mugshot of the Day
2007-07-25 19:57:00 Ever wonder what that bitchy Kim Delaney would look like without a ton of makeup? Well in January of 2002 she was arrested in Los Angeles for drunk driving. A month later she pleaded no contest, was put on probation and fined. Seems like the penalties for drunk driving have gotten a lot worse in the past few years.I really wouldn't want to run into that in a dark alley. She always struck me as someone who would scratch and bite. Somehow despite her lack of talents she now has a recurring role on Lifetime TV's Army Wives . 2007-07-25 07:50:00 Of course today is the day where the Lohan and Spears earthquake after-shock hits. Take anything related to these two with a pinch of salt, because neither has directly commented about the events following their respective breakdowns. This week's gossip, with its major A-list parties, breakdowns, DUI's, cocaine possession and theft really is very Glamorama. Read the book if you don't believe me.TMZ has reported that Lindsay was not the chaser, she was a chasee. Word has it from witnesses that there were other cars involved and that both Lindsay and the car she appeared to be chasing were being chased by one or more other cars, which fled the scene when the cops were called. No identification on the drivers or why they were chasing them. More importantly, there are no photographs of the incident. How is that possible? Wasn't Lohan being tailed 24/7?Lohan sent an email, from wherever the hell she is, to Access Hollywood (why Access Hollywood?). This is what she had to say:"Yes. I ... 2007-07-25 06:53:00 Western England is currently experiencing the worst flooding in 60 years which has left more than 150,000 homes without clean drinking water. British military and rescue workers are working hard to keep a major electrical substation from going under because the site supplies electricity to 500,000 homes. 50,000 homes are already without electricity and the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire have experienced over 5 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. Once again it becomes clear that Mother Nature is more dangerous than human nature.Security researchers have found a major hole in the iPhone's security software, warning that the iPhone could be hacked if owners visit doctored sites or use the phone in wireless hot spots (which are now common across all major cities). 2007-07-24 21:14:00 All of the Hollywood bitches have gone crazy. I woke up this morning expecting to find a few tid bits about the Beckhams, perhaps some Suri to brighten my morning, but alas, it was not meant to be. Instead I awoke to Britney Spear having a meltdown and Lindsay Lohan in a, ahem, 'high' speed chase. Obviously today is going to be a long one.Lindsay Lohan has officially fallen off of the wagon, but not before getting behind the reigns and getting involved in a high speed chase through Santa Monica, CA. Early this morning, around 2:15 AM, police arrested Lindsay for driving while under the influence (alcohol levels between .12 - .13). I know, the first question is, what about that alcohol monitoring ankle thing? Apparently she had removed it before this series of events. First reports were that she had simply gone off on her first bender since her release but then the story began to get more interesting. It appears that Lindsay's second assistant quit last night, a few hours before th... Technorati Top Searches: Ignorance Ranked
2007-07-24 04:21:00 I've been a bit concerned for some time about what I see every time I sign on to my Technorati account. The left pane has actually taken on a sort of eerie "what could it be this time" kind of feel because I always take a look at the top searches. Some blog sites swear by this box as a way of manipulating traffic to your site. If you write something about one of the top 10, people will come. But the more I watch the changes per day, the more I'm sure that writing about these topics is doing the devil's dirty work for him.Take a look at the image on the left. That was taken today to prove my point. There isn't one single entry in the top ten that has anything to due with an important world issue. Some might argue with me that Harry Potter is a world issue, but who dies at the end of the last book isn't nearly as important as who has died in the Middle East today. The presidential election should probably be in the top ten but the closest thing we get is the internet's favorite ... More About: Bush , Tube , George W , Pakistan

2007-07-23 20:52:00 Most everyone knows this story. British man becomes star for being uncomfortable with simple words, stumbles over himself a lot and stutters, somehow gets Elizabeth Hurley in bed but then gets caught getting it on with a prostitute in Hollywood. Yes, Hugh Grant is our mugshot today. He was arrested in 1995 for having sexual intercourse with a prostitute in a public place. We all remember her, Divine Brown.Grant was sentenced to two years of probation and had to pay a fine following his guilty plead for lewd conduct. 2007-07-23 20:20:00 The Beckham welcome to America party was last night in Los Angeles. The star-studded event was thrown by Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise , Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith . 2007-07-23 06:43:00 The US is rumored to be lifting its ban on lighters on airplanes. I have to say my personal stake in this wipes out any thoughts about safety. I once boarded a flight from Chicago to New York with an engraved Zippo lighter that was a gift. Once I reached the security checkpoint they told me they would have to confiscate the lighter and I begged to be able to keep the engraved casing, which they allowed. Still, they took the inner mechanism and I had to write to Zippo explaining the situation. Shockingly enough Zippo sent me the inner part of the lighter, free of charge. I was amazed, to say the least. Stop buying those cheap Bic lighters and invest in a Zippo, they never die and the company isn't greedy either. Just an interesting anecdote: when I boarded my return flight from NYC to Chicago, I passed through security carrying a mini-lighter. 2007-07-23 02:35:00 A few things have changed on the site in the past few days. The front page may not seem all that different but behind the scenes I've been working rather hard to make the site even more useful. The Digg button that was formerly in the upper right-hand corner of every post has been removed. 2007-07-22 23:28:00 I'm not really sure if Robert Van Winkle (what a white boy name) really counts as a celebrity...most of you probably know him as Vanilla Ice, that sad excuse for a white rapper. In 2001 Mr. Ice was arrested after getting into an argument with his wife that ended when he pulled some of her hair out (ouch). He was booked and copped to disorderly conduct. He was then put on probation and forced to attend family therapy sessions.Isn't it nice to know that if you pull your wife's hair out all you get is probation? He really needs to stop dying his hair. 2007-07-22 23:23:00 David Beckham was reported to have been benched for yesterday's LA Galaxy soccer match but he somehow managed to get onto the field for a terse 13 minutes of play time. A red carpet was rolled out, literally, for the celebrity guests who came to see Beckham play. The A-listers included wife Posh, Katie Holmes and the newly wed Eva Longoria . Did they win? No.In case you didn't know, the Beckhams are boring (or so Posh says).Eva Longria is officially on my media whore list. Look at that. If you want privacy, then sit in the main dining room...not next to the railing out on the porch area. She obviously set this up. To top things, you can't find a single picture where she is eating. 2007-07-22 02:00:00 David-the-Tool Beckham did not play for the LA Galaxy today. The soccer team's star player hurted his widdle ankle during practice earlier this week and was therefore benched. What did he do instead? Well he is probably preparing with his Posh wife to attend the major party being thrown in their honor by Stepford Wife and Mo-husband Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise (plus somehow Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are involved). The lavish reception is being thrown as a welcome to America festival. 2007-07-20 20:10:00 Lindsay Lohan has been arrested, booked and released for her DUI in May. Lindsay walked into the Beverly Hills PD station and submitted herself for booking around 4 PM yesterday. Police sources told tabloid site TMZ that Tits and Bits was "very pleasant and cooperative." She spent approximately an hour in the pokey and is scheduled to be in court on August 24th.Tits and Bits (I'm trying out the nickname) also made news when her movie with Shirley MacLain had the plug pulled today. Initial tabloids were quick to report that it had nothing to do with Lohan's partying ways but that it was based on money issues. Other sites have started reporting that the movie did die because of Lohan by extension. Lindsay's recent foray to Las Vegas apparently made her too much of a liability and insurance company's refused to cover her on set. Once investors heard this, they started pulling out. Something Before Bed XXVII
2007-07-20 07:45:00 I was on the fence about tonight's Something Before Bed. I could either start it off on a somber and scary note or I could start it out in a frightening and horrible note. Then I realized that they are both basically the same so I'll begin with Keith Olbermann. Olbermann has recently become a hero of mine because of his demand that Bush and Cheney resign, here is his latest attack (hold on until the end, it is beyond worth it):I love it when he says going into Iraq was the equivalent of jumping off a bridge and hoping you can fly. This man never stumbles over his own words. The big whammy was when he said, "This, sir, is your war. Go to Baghdad now and fulfill, finally, your military service obligations. Go there and fight, your war?yourself."I could possibly catch a lot of flack for posting this, but this is "The Pioneers of Tomorrow" a Hama's children's show whose main character (until the end of this episode) is named Farfour. Letter to the White House: 70 Democrats Sign, Plus Ron Paul
2007-07-20 06:56:00 Word is spreading across the net that 70 Democratic congressmen, including one Republican (TX - Ron Paul) have sent a letter to the White House demanding change and are planning on withholding funding until it happens. No confirmation if this is true but here is the letter as it has been released: Dear Mr. President: We are writing to inform you that we will only support appropriating additional funds for U.S. military operations in Iraq during Fiscal Year 2008 and beyond for the protection and safe redeployment of all our troops out of Iraq before you leave office. More than 3,600 of our brave soldiers have died in Iraq. More than 26,000 have been seriously wounded. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed or injured in the hostilities and more than 4 million have been displaced from their homes. 2007-07-20 06:35:00 Yesterday's massive steam explosion in Manhattan has continued to be a problem for city officials. The official number of people who have been injured has reached past 30, but only one fatality has been caused. The major concern after the pipe had been sealed off was air safety. Most major steam vents are wrapped in asbestos, a highly dangerous fiber that if inhaled can cause serious health concerns. Initial tests showed no contamination in the air but after more tests were taken the debris surrounding the area was found to be half contaminated. Luckily wet conditions allowed the debris and asbestos in the air to settle quickly, killing its chances of causing more harm. For now the area is completely sealed off for blocks in what the city is terming a "frozen zone". The initial blast sent 200 degree super-heated steam shooting into the air and drifting for blocks, harming citizens and causing general panic. Once the pipe was sealed off a 25-foot crater was left in its wake that off... More About: News , Crime , Headlines , Condoleeza Rice

2007-07-20 05:09:00 After some collecting today I came up with a number of articles that are worthy of mentioning but hardly equate reason to put them in the Motiveless Crime News Headlines which will follow this post shortly. Please feel free to comment.A new and altered version of absinthe is legal in United States. Since 1912 Absinthe has been illegal for stores to sell due to it's supposed magical ingredient, thujone. For decades it have been believed that thujone is the ingredient that causes artistic inspiration and general 'highness' that is supposed to accompany this highly acrid specialty drink. If you haven't tried an original version of Absinthe, try ordering one online (which is legal) and giving it a go. Most find the flavor unappealing mainly because different versions compare varying degrees of Anise (licorice smell and flavor) with the overwhelming flavor of mint. I have personally tried an unbastardized version that a friend brought home after studying abroad in Europe. I won't sa... More About: War On Terror , Israel , Africa , South Africa

The Iraq War: A Sign of Immaturity
More articles from this author:2007-07-19 21:55:00 Recent news articles concerning the ?rebirth? of Al Qaeda have fueled a decent amount of speculation about where the Iraq War is heading and whether it?s original intention are still intact. The Bush administration?s attempts at drawing a correlation between Al Qaeda and Iraq were vague at best and somehow the American populace forgot that the reasons behind the war never proved themselves to be worth it. Time has been the most useful tool that the currentadministration has wielded against the American people and we are all too quick to forget what led to this fiasco to begin with. The current arguments for staying in Iraq still hinge on the ?we started something and we are going to finish it? Republican doctrine. To leave, in their opinion, would be cowardly. Supposedly we arrived to complete certain tasks but managed to create a civil war in the process. The true reasons that American troops continue to surge into Iraq is far more secretive and illusive than any politician will...
