John Monds Libertarian for Governor
2009-03-25 13:56:00 March 24th, 2009 ATLANTA – John Monds will be announcing his intention to seek the Libertarian Party of Georgia’s nomination for Governor with a press conference at the Capitol in Atlanta with family, close friends and supporters by his side Wednesday, March 25th at 4:00pm. During his campaign for Public Service Commission (District 1) in 2008, Monds became the first Libertarian to break one million votes in the United States. Monds and the Libertarian Party believe Georgians are ready for something new and different. “It’s difficult to tell the difference between Republicans and Democrats; both want to raise your taxes, waste your money and increase the size and scope of state government,” said Monds. “We must be competitive in the 21st Century. We must have meaningful tax reforms that allow businesses and individuals to thrive, a transportation system that eases congestion without raising taxes, an education system that gives more choices and re...

Did Bob Barr's campaign spend money on clothes?
2008-12-02 15:04:00 Group: Other candidates used donor money on duds Turns out Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin wasn't the only candidate with donor-financed duds. By SHARON THEIMER Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON — Turns out Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin wasn't the only candidate with donor-financed duds. At least five candidates used campaign money for clothing, according to a complaint that a watchdog group filed Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics said the campaigns of Democratic Reps. Loretta Sanchez of California and Rob Andrews of New Jersey, Republican candidates Bill Dew of Utah and William Breazeale of North Carolina and Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr each spent hundreds of dollars on clothing. The group says that violates a ban on personal use of campaign money. Earlier, the group filed a complaint against the Republican National Committee for buying tens of thousands of dollars worth of clothing for Palin, the party's vice presidenti... Bob Barr urges us to vote for one worst Republicans in the country
2008-12-01 15:52:00 Bob Barr urges us to vote for one of the worst Republicans in the country. I am no fan of Saxby Chambliss but it looks like Bob Barr is. I see no reason for Barr to go to bat for Saxby. He knows people were not happy with him giving money to him earlier this year in a race in which we had a great candidate running. I have not been happy with since Denver and this is just another example. Here is the emailDear Doug,In Tuesday December 2nd's runoff election we have a choice between incumbent Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss and Democratic challenger Jim Martin.I urge you to vote for Saxby Chambliss.Sen. Chambliss is closer to the Libertarian position on a number of key issues including: shrinking the size of government, less government spending, abolishing the IRS, replacing the income tax with a consumption tax and ending the government bailouts. And there is one other major consideration: the Legislative branch of... The Great Thanksgiving Hoax
2008-11-27 13:04:00 The Great Thanksgiving Hoax from www.mises.orgDaily Article by Richard J. Maybury | Posted on 11/20/1999 Each year at this time school children all over America are taught the official Thanksgiving story, and newspapers, radio, TV, and magazines devote vast amounts of time and space to it. It is all very colorful and fascinating. It is also very deceiving. This official story is nothing like what really happened. It is a fairy tale, a whitewashed and sanitized collection of half-truths which divert attention away from Thanksgiving's real meaning. The official story has the pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620-21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The Pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant...

Tom Knapp for President
2008-11-23 18:58:00 I have been busy as of late . My business is still doing great. I will have my best month in 12 years this month. I did not have time to work much on campaigns this year after the Denver convention.I wish I could have worked on the John Monds ( 1 million votes in Georgia) campaign some. I do not think it was a bad thing not to work on the Barr campaign. I called them early on to ask about buying yard signs for the Atlanta area ( out of my pocket) they turned me down( this call was with the guy who did the website).I call back many times on this. I also ask them about setting up a meeting with the Ron Paul people here in Georgia and they told me they had it under control. I then tried one more time and asked about helping with running cable ads in Atlanta and they again said they knew what they were doing but if I could give some more money that would help. This talk was with Russ Verney. The Barr campaign ended up where it did because these guys did noy know how to run ... More About: President

Cairo’s John Monds, 43, became the first Georgia Libertarian candidate to receive more than 1,000,000 votes for a statewide race. He ran for Public Service Commission District 1. “A million votes is something to be excited about,” Monds said Wednesday. “It’s something to be proud of and a nice mark for the party. It says a lot about the organization in Georgia.” According to the Libertarian Party of Georgia’s post-election press release posted Wednesday on its Web site — with 96 percent of precincts reporting — Monds tripled its previous high marks by receiving one third of the vote. Results from the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office have Monds with 33.3 percent or 1,056,227 votes to Incumbent Republican H. Doug Everett’s 2,114,459 or 66.7 percent. ...
