Ahmadinejad joins Truther Ranks
2008-04-16 20:03:00
Sometimes, if you want to run a sanity check, it’s helpful to look at those who share the same views you do. Perhaps some of the Truthers might be a little shaken in their beliefs if they realized that apocalyto-nut Ahmadinejad is also a Truther. On second thought, when I think about who the Truthers are, it occurs to me that finding that he is a fellow traveler may just cement them more firmly in their views. Historians Speak for History
2008-04-16 19:58:00
…insofar as how it will remember George W. Bush. President Bush often argues that history will vindicate him. So he can’t be pleased with an informal survey of 109 professional historians conducted by the History News Network. It found that 98 percent of them believe that Bush’s presidency has been a failure, while only about 2 percent see it as a success. Not only that, more than 61 percent of the historians say the current presidency is the worst in American history. “Informal” is right. What if it were more formal, something with more gravity than an anonymous, smarmy remark being compiled into an “informal survey” with more of the same? What if there were stakes involved? Imagine the thinking that would be going on if you asked 109 professional historians to put money down on the answer. History shows just a few definite trends in figuring out who is “worst”; I don’t agree with them all, but they’re there. And the traits for which history seems to look, are...

Societal breakdown in England
2008-04-16 13:15:00
Some months ago, the British papers were filled with the story of Shannon Matthews, a little girl who vanished from her home in West Yorkshire, sparking a huge manhunt. She was eventually found, 24 days later, at the home of her stepfather?s uncle. The big shocker, though, was the fact that both her stepfather and ...

NYT?s Editor Richard Conniff Calls To Abolish Taxes
2008-04-16 03:01:00
New York Times Op-Ed contributor Richard Conniff wrote a piece where he calls for us to abolish all taxes; his method for accomplishing this is to change the word “taxes” to “dues”. Conniff writes that this would take a page from the conservative play book where words are changed to reframe the debate. He cites ...

The Lesson We Refuse to Learn
2008-04-15 22:20:00
Andrew C. McCarthy, author of the newly published Willful Blindness: Memoir of the Jihad, sat down for an interview at NRO, and voiced some unpleasant truths about our suicidal sensibilities: Lopez: What?s the most devastating lesson from 15 years ago we still haven?t learned? McCarthy: That the primary ...

Are We Prepared?
2008-04-15 14:42:00
British police and security agencies are keeping tabs on 30 terror plots, 22,000 Individuals, and 200 Networks, facing a threat level that is severe and growing. I wonder if they are listening to Islamic cleric Yunis Al-Astal who said, “We will conquer Rome, and then Eastern Europe and the Americas.” Go to No Compromise ...
The MSM ? Mis-Educating the Masses
2008-04-15 13:45:00
In the old days ? pre-internet ? politicians were able to get away with a lot of lies. This wasn?t because they lied better than they do now. It was because it was more difficult to suss out the truth and, even if one was successful in doing so, it was very challenging, ...
Imperialistic plans
2008-04-14 17:21:00
One of the things about conspiracy theorists is that they live in a hazy world of innuendo and speculation. There?s never any hard evidence to support their theory, just a lot of disparate facts that can be spun together into a tangled and usually nonsensical tapestry. As often as not, the beauty of the theories ...

Jimmy Carter - Bumbling Embarrassment to the United States, Plans Sit Down
2008-04-14 05:30:00
Hamas is an official terrorist organization. That minor detail, however, doesn?t seem to deter former President Jimmy Carter, a man who has never met a sleazy Islamic or communist terrorist he doesn?t admire and trust: Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said in remarks to air on Sunday that his upcoming visit to the Middle East ...

Wikipocrisy Folds - Finally Bad Stuff About Richard Warman
2008-04-14 00:51:00
A couple days ago I had directed the following comments toward Richard Warman, or more precisely, his Wikipedia page: His Wikipedia page contains four major categories as of this writing: Legal activism; Canadian human rights tribunal; Political activism; References. Who is he? The wonderful glittering text in the main article informs us? He is best known for ...

This Bitter Voter Says Obama is Full of Crap
2008-04-13 03:38:00
This is what Barack Obama said about small town voters who don’t buy into his message: “It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Now that he has been caught this ...

Why Win? Congressional Democrats Push to Lose the War At Any Cost
2008-04-12 14:42:00
Michael Yon, who appropriately boasts that he is probably the most experienced reporter in Iraq , reminds us that Congress must stop obsessing about the past in Iraq and must approach Iraq as a winnable situation. He begins by detailing the enormous strides ? both practical and ?hearts and mind? stuff ? that Americans have accomplished ...

U.S. Marine Slandered by Murtha Needs Your Help
2008-04-11 22:42:00
In my opinion John Murtha owes the Marine s and the entire military a big — public — apology, AND he needs to contribute some funds to help pay the legal expenses of the Marines he slandered. Can they ever get their reputations back? I don’t know. Can you ever gather all the feathers from a ...
NRA wins against San Francisco
2008-04-11 13:51:00
The State Supreme Court got this one right, and neatly sidestepped any discussion of the 2nd Amendment in doing so: The state Supreme Court dealt a final blow Wednesday to San Francisco ?s voter-approved ban on handguns, rejecting the city?s appeal of a lower-court ruling that sharply limited the ability of localities to regulate firearms. The court?s unanimous ...

Oh Yeah, and I?m a Brain Surgeon
2008-04-11 13:49:00
Back when I was studying for my Master?s final, the Husband thought it would be nice if I had a little fun project to give my fevered brain a rest from memorizing the enzymes in the Kreb?s cycle (don?t ask) or other aspects of Exercise Phys that would be on the test. Years earlier I had ...

Only In America
2008-04-11 01:00:00
Certainly not in Canada, where we have Human Rights Commissions and Richard Warman suing anyone who invokes him. U.S. free-speech advocates on Tuesday gave their annual ?muzzle? awards to violators including police who charged a woman for swearing at her overflowing toilet, and a motor vehicles department that deemed a ?GETOSAMA? license plate offensive. ?I Don?t Want To Blow You Up?
2008-04-11 00:53:00
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the basketball sensation who converted to Islam and assumed an Arabic name, does not want to blow you up. Neither do Iranian-American space tourist Anousheh Ansari or Swiss Muslim theologian Tariq Ramadan. Such is the message of a new children?s colouring book, provocatively titled I Don?t Want to Blow You Up, that aims to teach ...

Hand-held Lie Detector
2008-04-10 21:16:00
The headline is “New Weapon In War On Terror - Hand -held Lie Detector ”, but I could think of many other uses for this device. We could use them on political candidates to see it they are telling the truth or lying. Or maybe spouses could use them on each other. How about teachers using them ...

Ontario Human Rights Commisssion Admits Case Against MacLean?s Is Worthless
2008-04-10 13:33:00
There is no basis for it, and they have thrown it out. In a recent decision, the Ontario Human Rights Commission (the ?Commission?) decided not to proceed with complaints filed against Maclean?s magazine related to an article ?The future belongs to Islam ?. The complainants alleged that the content of the magazine and Maclean?s refusal to provide ...

Quick Picks

A few good reads: Katherine Kersten exposes the fact that Muslims in Minnesota are using public charter schools to promote religion amongst the students. I loath the smell of cigarette smoke, but this strikes me as going a bit too far. Although Obama, the consummate politician, is too careful ever to speak ill of Israel, his lifelong influences ...

Teens Who Hate America
2008-04-10 00:37:00
Pam Meister?s column receives a well-deserved spot on the Pajamas Media front page. What truly irks me about the attitudes of these teens is that most of them probably don?t have many major worries. We live in a well-to-do town in blue-state New England, where the median income is over $90,000 and the median price for ...

The AP Tries to Spin Truth Out of Clinton Fabrication
2008-04-08 16:30:00

Post Traumatic Bush Derangement Syndrome

2008-04-07 22:06:00
The Clintons have finally released their tax returns after many months of promises. The tax returns show that the Clintons made 109 million dollars since Bill left office and paid nearly 34 million in federal taxes on that money, or around 31%. That is the tax rate for the highest earners but Hilary said that ...
