Rajnath and BJP tries to regain lost glory from Goa
2007-07-30 06:06:00 Struggling to recover from the poll debacle in Uttar Pradesh, BJP chief Rajnath Singh is leaving nothing to chance in Goa where his party is staking claim to power। Efforts are underway to keep intact MLAs who were paraded before President Pratibha Patil yesterday ahead of a possible floor test in the House tomorrow, say party sources. Singh's functioning had come under scanner within the party in the wake of BJP's defeat in his home state Uttar Pradesh where he had devised the campaign strategy for the assembly election। Although the party acknowledges that its rise to power in Goa will render it vulnerable to pulls and pressures of coalition politics, the situation does warrant not losing an opportunity to regain the lost ground in the state, the sources said.Any success at this juncture is likely to give a boost to Singh, a senior party functionary said.
