The Candidate....
2007-08-13 01:50:00 Everyone either picks on Mitt Romney or likes to harp on the fact that everyone likes to pick at him. So he stated at one point that he was pro abortion and now states that he is anti abortion. Ok. He's also stated that he changed his mind. Even better.1. Is this change of mind an absence of credibility? No, at least not on the surface of it. People change their minds all the time. I used to be a republican, now I'm a libertarian. I used to be on board with the President's policies in Iraq, now I'm not. I used to think the Union should have won the war for southern independence, now I believe the Confederacy was in the right. I am sure that everyone here reading this has changed their mind about something and it is not a lapse in credibility for it to happen.2. Is this change of mind authentic? Only Romney and his hairdresser know for sure. Or something like that.3. Is this change of mind truly pro life? It's probably not politically correct to say so, however most politicians ... Who Said This?
2007-07-16 03:23:00 I have a few quotes and I want you to tell me which one was spoken by a Right to Life Organisation.... and which was spoken by a politician....?It?s always the proper time to do right. You continue to bring them out until it?s finally done. Persist on the goal, which is to ban abortion. That has always been the goal of the pro-life movement: ban abortion,? ?With the governor that we have, I don't think there is any possibility of getting a ban passed?.If you thought the first was spoken by a prolife group and the second was spoken by a politician you' d be wrong. The first was spoken by an Ohio politician named Harrington. The Second was spoken by Ohio Right to Life, an affiliate of National Right to Life, spokesman Denise Mackura. It sounds to me like the pro life movement has moved from standing for right against all odds to trying to politicise and hedge their bets. I wonder if we were discussing killing 25 yr old spokesmodels we be putting up with this bull. No we wouldn't. T... More About: Abortion , Said
The Prolife Lie
2007-05-20 01:07:00 The right to life movement has raised alot of money, and I do mean alot of money, and has spent large amounts of time lobbying to elect "prolife" politicians and getting so called prolife judges appointed to the bench. Parachurch and Christian family advocates also rally the faithful to support prolife legislation, groups, ect... You cannot fault the masses for being active. You can however, fault the majority of them for being stupid. That's right, downright, outright, boldfaced ignorant in the highest.Recently a bill was passed that said it was ok to deliver a child to the navel, rip it's legs off and let it die and pro life leaders such as focus on the family lauded it as a prolife victory. Like I said before, very few who claim to be prolife actually are, apparently, though I didn't expect to hear such excrement from Focus. Perhaps Dobson is getting senile in his old age.To hear someone outspokenly prolife...click here and hear what BOB ENYART has to say.
ProLife and the BC Pill
2007-03-07 18:53:00 Anyone who knows me well knows that sometimes I take a very strong stand on the issues that I believe in. This is particularly true when it comes to the protection of innocent human life. Sometimes this makes me come off as abrasive and conceited, and that is not intended. However most of the time I believe that people are offended by me because I tell it like it is without trying to pad the issue. Don't get me wrong, there are proper times to be tactful, pleasant and soft or persuasive. These times include discussing the role of diet in your life, whether or not to drive the speed limit, whether your friend's choice of dates is acceptable, whether your friends choice of clothing is flattering or whether or not to leave the toilet seat up or down. They do not include defending the lives of innocent human beings against their own parents.Unless you are one who believes that any attempt to avoid pregnancy other than total abstainence is wrong, there are acceptable forms of birth con... Stupid Arguments
2006-12-02 15:47:06 The Declaration of Independence declares that we all have the right to several things which were "self evident" - one of those was life. It seems to me a crying shame that we are denying millions of children the rights they are entitled to simply because they are yet to be born. Back before the foundation of our nation, babies were regarded as everyone else as soon as the "quickening" occured. They could not be legally killed. The fifth and 14th amendments to our constitution protect those rights for all citisens, including the unborn. Again, why would it not be mentioned that abortion was wrong? Well, the right to life was "self evident" and we didn't come by this absurd ability to rationalise away "personhood" for those people we have decided are not worth our time. This is stupid. All humans are persons, but not all persons are human (we have always assumed personhood for angels, dieties and the like). So therefore if we were to base rights on whether a human was a person... Handicapped Group fights Euthanasia Mentality
2006-12-02 15:47:06 "Since 1983, many people with disabilities have opposed the assisted suicide and euthanasia movement. Though often described as compassionate, legalized medical killing is really about a deadly double standard for people with severe disabilities, including both conditions that are labeled terminal and those that are not. Intellectual Heresy?
2006-12-02 15:47:06 The President decided not to fund stem cell research on anything other than preexisting cell lines and people went hog wild crazy on both sides of the issue. Pro aborts were screaming that this was religion interfering with science...prolifers were saying he'd done the right thing. Perhaps he did, but he turned around and supported the legalisation of the Morning After pill, which is nothing but an overthecounter abortion. Probably in an effort to get a nominee into his court system...bread thrown to pigs if you ask me.This is the situation. Originally, murdering babies was illegal, and when women went to have it done they ran the risk of death and/or arrest. Then somewhere along the line, it remained illegal but not prosecuted. Then it became legal in some places and not others. Then, thanks to Roe, it was legal to murder babies and clinics and hospitals began offering these services in controlled conditions "for the safety of the woman." Now we've gone from murdering ba... Prolifers Harassed
2006-12-02 15:47:06 For the full story. Some prolifers were protesting a clinic, which of course upset the clinic. One of the police which were there to "keep the peace" was a part time employee of the clinic. This lack of objectivity of course led to a miscarriage of justice. All I can do is shake my head.Of course many people think abortion has no consequences. And that the fathers feel nothing. Perhaps this will explain some things like why after abortions the fathers tend to become highly emotional and often sabotage the relationship. They're supposed to act like nothing happened, but how would you really feel? More About: Life , Aras , Hara

Anger Lobbed in the Wrong Direction
2006-12-02 15:47:06 Rather than being upset at the "appalling" rate of abortions among Black Women, citisens have instead become irritated that someone chose to call attention to it.If we want to deal with abortion and get rid of it, we will have to see things as they are and we will need to acknowledge the cancers of society which lead to it in the first place. The reasons for the presence of unwanted pregnancies are one angle we could look at and we often concentrate on them, and then we have the pressures which lead a woman to abort after finding that she is pregnant even if the child is "wanted."You would think that it would be worthwhile understanding which factors were present in the communities these women live in which contributes to their decision to kill their child. Knowing WHY is important. However, we won't ask the questions if we don't know it's a disporportionate problem. And of course for us to know, it has to be pointed out.Social engineers don't want to see what unique pressu... More About: Direct , Anger , Wrong , Dire , Direction
Stem Cell Failure
2006-12-02 15:47:06 I'm glad the president vetoed the Embryonic Stem Cell Legislation. There is just as much good which can be done using adult stem cells, and it doesn't cause the death of an unborn child to do it.And don't give me that "well we can use aborted fetuses and they were gonna die anyway."I seriously doubt if that same logic could be applied to adults. Try it and see how stupid it is. Unless of course you believe in human non persons. Then you are no better than Hitler. More About: Failure , Stem Cell , Lure
Rewinding
2006-12-02 15:47:06 I started this blog because I knew that to remove Terri Shindler Schiavo's feeding tube would be condemning her to death, and to do that was wrong. I've long been a pro life advocate, when I was in college I used to go to the yearly March for Life in Washington DC. When I lived outside DC, I would also make the short journey in town to march. Eventually life took me away from activism, though my belief that life was special and precious to God never changed. Terri's fight was something that ignited my heart once again and put me back in action.Recently my bills piled up and my time on the computer was cut short by a week or so of not having my high speed internet. This gave me time for reflection on my purpose for what I have been doing and why I am doing it. I'm not just doing this for myself, to make me feel good and I'm not doing this because I want to reshape the US into my own image. I'm not anti woman, and I'm not oblivious to the hard questions which go along wi... More About: Rewind , Wind , Winding
When Does life Begin??
2006-12-02 15:47:06 The first question about life is when it begins. Does it begin at birth? Does it begin when the unborn child can survive outside of the womb, does it begin when the heart beats, or does it begin at conception? Obviously if life begins at birth, then there is nothing wrong with abortion and prolife people should direct their energies elsewhere, such as preventing infanticide or opposing assisted suicide. If it starts sometime before birth but after conception, abortion should be regulated to make sure that life is not taken but can occur before "life" begins. However, in scripture we see that God recognises a person even before he or she is born. "Before I was born the Lord called me" (Isaiah 49:1). "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made . . . your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be" (Ps 139: 13-16). When Does Life End?
2006-12-02 15:47:06 When does life end? The simple answer is when it naturally ends. What should be our attitude about death? For the righteous, it is a friend. Should we ever hasten death? No.God is the author of life, our lives do not belong to us they belong to God. We are to seek to honour God in our lives, not seek our own autonomy. To take our own life is an act which says that our lives do not belong to God but to us. To take someone else's life is to commit murder.I do admit that there are times when pain and suffering seem overwhelming to some and death might seem like a blessed event (especially for a believer who knows they will fall into the everlasting arms Christ and the comfort of the eternal). However, I know that God knows what is best for myself and for everyone else. To interfere with His plan is to slap Him in the face, even if it seems like the merciful thing to do.Remember how it is that the unborn is as valuable to God as the grown man? It has nothing to do with the a... More About: Life , When
Human Value
2006-12-02 15:47:06 Advocates of abortion and euthanasia don't worry so much about when life begins and when life ends. The current wisdom has instead to do with "quality of life" and which lives are more worthy of preservation. I feel that this question presupposes that the value of human life exists in accordance with what an individual can contribute to a society and what enjoyment that individual might receive from it. Has a fetus gained quality of life worthy of preservation? What about the old and infirm, the handicapped? This question is dangerous and only the Almighty can answer it. And in fact, He has. In the blog I made on abortion the answer is there. The value of the fetus is the same as that of his mother and the person who might have injured them. The OT law was repayment, an eye for an eye. A life for a life. If the fetus was not as valuable as the mother, then the one who caused the miscarriage would not have to pay with his life. He might have to pay a greater fine, but not... Hypocrisy
2006-12-02 15:47:06 Someone recently pointed out the inherent hypocrisy of the prolife movement in relationship to stem cell research. This person has a good point. To clone embryos in order to produce and use their stem cells is what can happen and guess what...apparently not all prolife people seem to be against this practice. But they should be. I believe I've pointed this out, even when the embryos used are aborted it's still wrong, as you are profiting from the murder of an innocent party. And your "good deeds for society" will eventually be used as justification to keep abortion legal.Let's get this straight. Life begins at conception. Anytime life begins and you deliberately kill it, you've committed murder. Period. Here's one you haven't thought of though...Fertility treatments.Stem cells used for research also come from fertility clinics. Betcha didn't know this or never thought about it.Fertility clinics deliberately fertilise more eggs than they intend to use. They let them... More About: Hypocrisy , Cris
This Snippet Found
2006-12-02 15:47:06 Unless we are willing to prosecute abortion providers as murderers, women seeking abortions as accessories to murder, and women who unknowingly expel fertilized eggs as guilty of manslaughter, we need to acknowledge that a fetus is different under the law than a person. Practically speaking, the key distinction for a fetus is whether it is wanted by its parents. Whether a fetus is terminated or not should be left up to the parents and government should stay out of that decision.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The original quote is found in the hyperlink in the title of this essay. There you have it, a proabortion argument so brilliantly summed up neatly for us. Let's see if we have this straight. Because we're not willing to take the strong arm tactic, the child isn't alive. Since when was enforcement of morality it's sole determiner? For that matter, since when was enforcement of the law the sole determiner of whether or not that law is just? Accident or Evil?
2006-12-02 15:47:06 If this is true...it could be one of the worst commentaries on society nowdays, it takes the notion of disposable humans to a horrifying level. Unfortunately, with the information available it's hard to know for sure. I'd hate to be on the jury. Only Brown and Lauren know the truth.....~~~~~~~~~~~42 yr old Cameron John Brown has been accused of throwing his four year old daughter off a cliff in order to avoid paying child support. The jury will begin deliberations soon to decide what will become of this man. The accused alledgedly threw his daughter Lauren off Inspiration Point in November of 2000. He could face life in prison without parole if he is convicted.According to the prosecution, Brown was not really fond of the child's mother. He felt that she had trapped him so that she could stay in the US by having a child, and he was ordered to pay $1000 a month child support. He was a baggage handler and that was alot of money. Prolife Chatter from around the Net
2006-12-02 15:47:06 Apparently PETA is hypocritical and cannot see that it is. OR maybe it doesn't care. Once upon a time PETA made a statement that "a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy." Now if all species are equal, how can you justify giving one preferential treatment over another. This is supposedly the reason we're supposed to be vegans, not wear fur and not use animals for experiments. Now they support embryonic stem cell research...to save animals. So, not all species ARE equal. According to PETA, humans must be at the bottom of the chain of value. In case the residents don't know what's going on....these planes will be sure to tell you. ....again, the prochoice movement does not CARE that it's a life. Life has no value unless it is productive and wanted. You can be a human, be alive and still have no rights and no value. More About: Chat , The Net , The N , Hat

Patients Euthanized during Katrina
2006-07-19 01:20:00 They apparently have been investigating this for a long time. It seems that after Katrina , while waiting to be rescued, medical personnel gave lethal doses of medication to patients who were in pain. Three people have been arrested but have not yet been formally charged. "We're not calling this euthanasia. We're not calling this mercy killings. This is second-degree murder," said Kris Wartelle, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Charles C. Foti.****************************** My Two Cents ***********************************Why is this so disturbing when Terri Schiavo's death is ok? Both incidents do not factor into account the inherent value of life. Why was it such a hardship to keep these patients alive? PP MUST release Records
2006-07-17 03:17:00 The state of Ohio has a law. A minor seeking an abortion must get parental consent. A girl went to the PP clinic in Cincinnati with her boyfriend who posed as a family member and received an abortion, without her parents consent. The attorney representing the family is trying to determine whether the clinic has a pattern of failing to notify parents. The names of the girls would be blacked out to protect their identities, but all records on abortion patients under the age of 18 will have to be released. Planned Parenthood is of course fighting the measure, citing the privacy issues. "We're very concerned about the exposure of private medical information," Brenner said. "Anyone that has private medical information should be fearful." For the whole story, see WTOL-TV article. More About: Release , Record , Lease , Must , Records
SD Leading the Way
2006-07-13 19:25:00 SD has passed their highly restrictive abortion ban, which was supposed to go into effect 1 July. Voters somehow managed to get it put on hold until there is a vote in November. Now the "Vote Yes for Life" Campaign begins.I stand with SD's right to protect it's youngest and most helpless citisens from potential killers and bad law made from the bench. I hope that somewhere in those laws is a legal precident giving the unborn child legal personhood. This is the key, really. The child must be given rights. More About: The Way , Leading , Lead
Are we Afraid?
2006-07-10 17:18:00 Wingnuts from the radical factions of Islamism are willing to die, literally, to take a stand for what they believe in, no matter how wrong they may be. Are we willing to do for the truth what someone else is willing to do for a lie? How many babies have to die before we stand up and do something effective? I have honestly tried to keep my political leanings out of this discussion for the most part, but I ran across something which made me pause. The governour of LA is being presented with some legislation (if she hasn't already) which basically says that in the event Roe is overturned, abortion will be illegal in LA. Why does LA have to wait for Roe to be overturned? I believe in state soveriegnty. I believe that the states only have to allow the federal government the duties listed specifically in the constitution as being delegated to it and that in the event that federal government uses it's power to injure the state in some way, that state has the right to bow out of tha... The Natural Results of Being Spoilt
2006-07-08 15:13:00 The abortion industry is spoilt. Just like a bratty child which gets away with whatever it wants and whines whenever it is given bounderies or put back into its place. Any time one attempts to enforce upon abortion the same legal limits placed on other medical procedures, proaborts take the measures to court. Shoot, one cannot even force upon abortion the same safeguards in place for cosmetic procedures such as ear peircing. If my son gets his ear peirced, I have to go with him and sign papers, as I am his legal guardian. If he presents himself as of age, there are legal problems for both the establishment and himself which can result from this. Not so with abortion. Girls who are 12, 13 or 14 could go to an abortion clinic and get an abortion without parental consent and in some places no notification to the parent at all. Inconsistencies in the law such as these are called "the abortion distortion."You would think that an industry which is so controversial would go out of ... New Book - Fighting for Dear Life
2006-07-05 02:26:00 It's hard to believe that this blog is over a year old. It started as a blog in support of Terri Schiavo, and has evolved in the wake of her death. Her life, the last few months of it anyway, was a touch point for me. A place which brought me out of my slumber, a time which was the beginning of my renewed interest in the way the world works. The book shown here -Fight ing for Dear Life : The Untold Story of Terri Schiavo and What It Means for All of Us - is the memoir of David Gibbs, the attorney who represented Terri's parents during the long duration of the fight to keep Terri alive. He did so on a pro bono basis. He is a believer of unknown denomination who prayed regularly with Terri's family and dedicated alot of his time to this case. The topic he discusses is important, and there is nothing like seeing things from "the inside." The book is not yet released but has received positive reviews and I trust this person's integrity as he is one of my heroes. In case you ha... More About: Book , Fighting

2006-06-28 22:40:00 I've never heard of Anne Lamott (apparently because I don't frequent Christian bookstores). I heard about her by surfing around the LA Times, while looking for information about something else. Internet research indicates she's a writer of some sort. Her story certainly was poignant and sad. She also says she's a Christian. She chose to begin her essay in a shocking manner. "The man I killed did not want to die, but he no longer felt he had much of a choice." In her June 25 essay entitled "At Death's Window" she describes her relationship with a close friend suffering under a tragically terminal illness. She called him "Mel" to avoid using his real name. Mel had cancer and chose to refuse the chemotherapy which may have added some time to his days. He apparently just wanted to enjoy the final days of his life quietly with his family and friends. In the end, when he was riddled with pain and wasting away as many cancer victims do, she - at the request of Mel and his wife ... The Party of Death?
2006-06-15 22:35:00 I was listening to ETV Radio today and was strangely happy to hear some honest, intelligent discussion about the issue of the right to life. Not necessarily from the host, but from the writer of a new book The Part y of Death . Ramesh Ponnuru has gotten to the crux of the problem. Most people who believe in abortion don't really care if the embryo is alive, most people who believe in Euthanasia don't really care if the sick individual is really alive. Life itself isn't the whole dance. People who want to promote/support abortion and euthanasia know that they are making a decision for death. But it's not the death of a living person to them, it's the death of a living human "non person." A person who has no inalienable rights. The author goes on to discuss some political issues and how they are run by some special interest groups, how animal rights is being used to take the heat off human rights issues...etc. This author pins alot upon the democratic party and the title is ...
