Obama: Give economy $50 billion boost
2008-06-10 06:54:00
On the first day of what is to be a two-week economic tour around the country, Barack Obama said Monday that lawmakers should inject another $50 billion immediately into the sluggish U.S. economy. The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee cited the largest monthly increase in the unemployment rate in over 20 years, and record highs in oil prices, food prices and foreclosures. "Such relief can't wait until the next president takes office. ... That's why I've called for another round of fiscal stimulus, an immediate $50 billion to help those who've been hit hardest by this economic downturn," Obama told a crowd in Raleigh, N.C. Yeah, because the current one has been such a smashing success. Didn't Obama bad mouth the previous stimulus package? Oh yeah, he did. It's not that the economy has taken a downturn, it's the high cost of oil as well as bad mortgage decisions by all involved.  This is simply the market place adjusting itself.  Nothing more.   Travis...

Anyone Step In Anything?

Iran?s supreme leader told Iraq?s visiting prime minister on Monday that the American forces in Iraq are the biggest obstacle to Iraqi stability. The message from the Iranian leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was the most authoritative public word to date on Iran?s objections to long-term security agreements currently under negotiation between the Bush administration and the government of Iraq?s prime minister, Nuri Kamal al-Maliki. Yep, it's got nothing to do with the flow of insurgents, weapons, and explosives coming from YOUR country.   Travis travis@rightwinglunatic.com

Curb Your Fundamental Rights Or Else!
2008-06-10 01:21:00
Pakistan will ask the European Union countries to amend laws regarding freedom of expression in order to prevent offensive incidents such as the printing of blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the production of an anti-Islam film by a Dutch legislator, sources in the Interior Ministry told Daily Times on Saturday. They said that a six-member high-level delegation comprising officials from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Law would leave Islamabad on Sunday (today) for the EU headquarters in Brussels, Belgium and explain to the EU leadership the backlash against the blasphemous campaign in the name of freedom of expression. The delegation, headed by an additional secretary of the Interior Ministry, will meet the leaders of the EU countries in a bid to convince them that the recent attack on the Danish Embassy in Pakistan could be a reaction against the blasphemous campaign, sources said. They said that the ...

US think tank: Pakistan helped Taliban insurgents
2008-06-10 01:13:00
Pakistani intelligence agents and paramilitary forces have helped train Taliban insurgents and have given them information about American troop movements in Afghanistan, said a report published Monday by a U.S. think tank. The study by the RAND Corp. also warned that the U.S. will face "crippling, long-term consequences" in Afghanistan if Taliban sanctuaries in Pakistan are not eliminated. It echoes recent statements by American generals, who have increased their warnings that militant safe havens in Pakistan are threatening efforts in Afghanistan. The study was funded by the U.S. Defense Department. "Every successful insurgency in Afghanistan since 1979 enjoyed safe haven in neighboring countries, and the current insurgency is no different," said the report's author, Seth Jones. "Right now, the Taliban and other groups are getting help from individuals within Pakistan's government, and until that ends, the region's long-term security is in jeopardy." Pakistan's top military...

Explosive Accusations
2008-06-10 00:16:00
When I hear people lambaste a politician, I generally assume that they have evidence to back up their accusations.  Otherwise, you look like a partisan hack, who's trying to sway public opinion. I would think that Ross Perot would offer up such evidence when he makes the following claims: Perot's real problem with McCain is that he believes the senator hushed up evidence that live POWs were left behind in Vietnam and even transferred to the Soviet Union for human experimentation, a charge Perot says he heard from a senior Vietnamese official in the 1980s. "There's evidence, evidence, evidence," Perot claims. "McCain was adamant about shutting down anything to do with recovering POWs." This article came out in January of this year.  To date, we've seen nothing about "evidence, evidence, evidence" from Perot. Personally, if such evidence existed, and McCain did indeed suppress any investigations about recovering POW's, live or not, I think I wouldn't vote for him. ...
Wanna See How Hillary Failed So Spectacularly?
2008-06-10 00:05:00
Look no further: Eighteen million votes: $212 million. Some 1,926 delegates: $109,823 a pop. Blowing the biggest head start in presidential history: priceless. From anointed to also-ran, Hillary Clinton spent more money to lose a primary election than any candidate in Democratic Party history. "The Clinton campaign found itself without adequate money at the beginning of 2008," chief strategist Mark Penn wrote in a published Op-Ed yesterday - but it was enough of a cash stash to fund the causes she championed. The money raised could have been better spent. Instead of throwing it at a failed political bid, Clinton could have achieved a lot of her goals. The former First Lady, an outspoken proponent of family values, might have delivered a much-needed vacation to working families: sending more than 76,000 families of four from New York to California to visit Mickey, Donald and Goofy. And don't forget the economy. Instead of throwing cash away, she might have better invested the...
Here Comes The Hammer
2008-06-09 23:29:00
President Bush has signed an executive order requiring contractors and others who do business with the federal government to make sure their employees can legally work in the U.S. Bush signed the order Friday and the White House announced the order Monday. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez planned an afternoon news conference to discuss the order and other ways the administration has stepped up its crackdown on illegal immigration. The order says federal departments and agencies must require contractors to use an electronic system to verify that the workers are eligible to work in the U.S. The order is aimed at cracking down on hiring of illegal immigrants. But people who overstayed visas or came to the country legally but do not have permission to work, such as some students or those awaiting work permits, also could be snagged with the system. "It is the policy of the executive branch to enforce fully the immigration laws of ...

The Saudi's Are In Trouble
2008-06-09 23:21:00
As more Americans become resigned to the possibility of paying $5 for a gallon for gas, they are driving less and seriously considering chucking their gas guzzlers, according to a poll released Monday. The poll, conducted by CNN/Opinion Research, shows that 86% of respondents believe gas prices will top $5 a gallon sometime this year. That compares to 78% in April and 28% in May of last year. To cope with higher gas prices, 66% of those surveyed said they are cutting back on the amount of driving they do and 71% indicated that they are considering buying a more fuel-efficient vehicle. But the effects of high gas prices go beyond driving habits. The poll also shows that 55% of respondents are cutting back significantly on household spending. If we are pushed far enough, people will eventually make it so that we don't need Saudi and OPEC's oil.  That has them scared: Saudi Arabia will call for a summit between oil producing countries and consumer states to discuss soaring en...

Iran Protests Threats From Israel
2008-06-08 07:28:00
Iran's United Nations delegation accused the Security Council of "emboldening" an Israel i official into threatening to attack Iran over its nuclear weapons development program, according to Iran's state-run media."The Israeli regime has been emboldened due to carelessness and silence of the Security Council," the delegation said in a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the U.N. Security Council, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported Saturday. The letter was a reaction to a story printed Friday by Israel's largest mass-circulation daily, which quotes Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz threatening to attack Iran if it continues to develop nuclear weapons."The window of opportunity has closed. The sanctions are not effective," said Mofaz, who was born in Iran in 1948. "There will be no alternative but to attack Iran in order to stop the Iranian nuclear program."But the most recent report by International Atomic Energy Agency hints at frustrations from the agency's in...

Hillary Endorses Obama
2008-06-07 19:46:00
Sen. Hillary Clinton said Saturday "we need to do all we can" to help elect Sen. Barack Obama the next president of the United States. Her endorsement was met with a scattering of boos and thumbs downs from the large crowd at the National Building Museum in Washington."The way, the way to continue our fight now, to accomplish the goals for which we stand is to take our energy, our passions, our strengths and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama, the next president of the United States," she said of her former rival for the Democratic presidential nomination."Today, as I suspend my campaign, I congratulate him on the victory he has won and the extraordinary race he has run. I endorse him and throw my full support behind him. and I ask all of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me."She fully supports a "man who gave a speech in 2002"? With all the nasty things she's said about Obama, this is really got to get under her skin and just tickle Obama to d...

I will be creating a link on the side bar to your left here in the next few hours to all of the radio shows that Daehoon and I have done over the course of the history of this site. Some of them are shorter, (15 minutes or so) and some go up and over an hour.I'm trying to get more guest hosts together as well as checking out to see how well a "call in" type of situation would work. DC Cop's Brilliant Plan
2008-06-06 23:31:00
Everyone knows I support police officers. They have a dangerous job, deal with people you and I only read about, and are generally looked down upon by a good portion of our society until bad things happen. That being said, I got to wonder what the hell the cops in Washington DC are thinking:Stung by an outbreak of violence, including eight killings last weekend alone, police are taking the unusual step of establishing vehicle checkpoints in a crime-ridden neighborhood in the nation's capital.Starting Saturday night, officers will check drivers' ID and turn away any who don't have a "legitimate purpose" in the area - a plan that has drawn swift criticism from civil liberties groups."The Constitution and the Bill of Rights should not become the next victim of the street violence," said Johnny Barnes, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union for the National Capital Area. "This plan will treat every resident of that area the way criminals are treated."Police will ask ...

Freedom Of Speech
2008-06-06 23:16:00
Sometimes, Freedom of Speech can and does anger up the blood. This is one of those times:In a quiet, upscale neighborhood in Charlotte, N.C., rows of custom-style homes and neatly landscaped lawns represent the American dream. But one local resident has shattered that image, calling for the death of American troops in Iraq and supporting Al Qaeda through his Web site, which he reportedly runs from his parents' home.Samir Khan is the man behind Revolution.Muslimpad.com - a radical Islamic site that praises Usama bin Laden and asks for Allah to "curse more American soldiers."The site posts videos of U.S. Humvees being blown up by roadside bombs in Iraq. It aims to inspire young Muslims to wage war against the West.Terrorism experts say the Web site, written in English, is one of the premiere sites for Western audiences to get access to radical Islamist propaganda.Khan, 22, declined requests for an interview, even when approached outside his home with cameras rolling. When asked if the...

The Truth From Ed McMahon
2008-06-06 23:12:00
Ed McMahon blames the possible foreclosure of his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills house on a set of problems all too familiar to many Americans: a foundering economy, health problems and poor planning."If you spend more money than you make, you know what happens," McMahon said Thursday night on CNN's "Larry King Live." "You know, a couple of divorces thrown in, a few things like that. And, you know, things happen."Asked why a millionaire couldn't make house payments, Pamela McMahon said the couple had less money than people may think and suggested they could have done a better job managing their finances."We didn't keep our eye on the ball. We made mistakes," she said. "It's embarrassing to say the least, and it's sad, because you know, Ed's worked his whole entire life."This is exactly what I wanted to hear. No excuses. No "I am not at fault" crap. Just a simple "we screwed up". Many other people would be wise to follow Mr. McMahon's example of personal responsibility.Of c...

Your Tax Dollars At Work
2008-06-06 23:03:00
What are people who receive FEMA assistance doing to help themselves? That's the question NBC 15's Andrea Ramey asked those who have been staying for free in hotel rooms after they moved out of FEMA supplied travel trailers. What she found out is there are some who are doing very little. The scorching heat puts many at the Quality Inn poolside, but for Gwenester Malone, she chooses to beat the heat by setting her thermostat to sixty degrees. Malone's room for the past three months, along with three meals daily, have all been paid for by taxpayers."Do you work?" asked NBC 15's Andrea Ramey."No. I'm not working right now," said Malone.Malone says she can't drive and it's too hot outside to find work within walking distance. "Since the storm, I haven't had any energy or pep to go get a job, but when push comes to shove, I will," said Malone.Yep, when you and I get up for work in the morning, drag our asses through traffic and deal with idiots all day long, our hard earned tax do...

54% Of Democrats Are Stupid
2008-06-06 22:47:00
A majority of Democrats think Barack Obama should select Hillary Clinton as his running mate, according to a new national poll.Fifty-four percent of registered Democrats questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Friday think Obama should name his rival as his running mate; 43 percent disagreed. The poll is the first national survey conducted since Obama claimed the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday night, at the end of the primary season. Clinton is expected to announce Saturday that she's suspending her campaign and backing her Senate colleague.I feel all icky because of what I'm about to say and do: Defend Obama. Why should he pick her as his VP? She said nasty thing about him. She said he wasn't experienced enough. She offered him the VP slot when she was LOSING. It was a token gesture that she's going to try to bring up now "well, I offered it to him, why shouldn't he offer it to me"?Let's face it, Obama would be an idiot to pick Hillary. She's...

EXCLUSIVE: China gets U.S. Olympics help
2008-06-06 02:01:00
The Bush administration has approved the export of sensitive equipment and expertise to China 's military and police forces to bolster security at the Beijing Olympics , according to a number of private and public interviews and documents. The support includes security and military equipment that is restricted for export under the Export Administration Act, prompting some critics of the policy to question its legality. The FBI and other U.S. security agencies also are helping China to develop sensitive counterterrorism coordination techniques, such as creating joint security operations and intelligence centers, according to Bush administration defense and national security officials. The officials said U.S. support to the Beijing Olympics is modeled on the security plan and federal assistance used for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. The techniques can be used for surveillance of protesters, including Tibetans, they said. The support is unprecedented for an administration that ca...

Protests broke out in India and Malaysia on Thursday as consumers reacted angrily to sharp fuel price hikes that could undermine governments in both countries. With global oil prices soaring, authorities in the two countries said a day earlier they were slashing fuel subsidies that were draining government coffers. In Malaysia, gasoline pump prices jumped 41 percent overnight and diesel prices surged a stunning 67 percent. The gasoline price hike in India, the second this year, was smaller - about 11 percent in the capital, New Delhi - but will still weigh on consumers. India also raised prices on diesel and cooking gas.The most pronounced protests were in India's West Bengal state, where schools and businesses were closed and flights and trains canceled. Shops were also shuttered and roads emptied in the southern state of Kerala, with protests also reported in the central city of Indore.India's communist parties, which control both Kerala and West Bengal, have called for a week of p...

Obama's A Nice Guy
2008-06-06 01:24:00
Joe Lieberman, fully embracing his role as a Republican attack dog, took the lead in a GOP conference call this morning to attack Barack Obama's Middle East policy. On the call, organized by far-right Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), Lieberman argued, weakly, that Obama holds the U.S. responsible for Iran's strength in the region."Senator Obama argued today that American foreign policy in recent years has essentially sort of strengthened Iran," Lieberman said, adding, "If Israel is in danger today, it's not because of American foreign policy, which has been strongly supportive of Israel in every way. It's not because of what we've done in Iraq, it's because Iran is a fanatical terrorist expansionist state."Obama, apparently, didn't care for Lieberman's comments, so much so that the Democratic presidential nominee confronted Lieberman directly on the Senate floor this afternoon. Subscription-only Roll Call reported:[D]uring a Senate vote Wednesday, Obama dragged Lieberman by the han...

He was 80.Lucas had been battling cancer. Ponda Lee at Moore Funeral Service said the funeral home was told he died before dawn.Jacklyn "Jack" Lucas was just six days past his 17th birthday in February 1945 when his heroism at Iwo Jima earned him the nation's highest military honor. He used his body to shield three fellow squad members from two grenades, and he was nearly killed when one exploded."A couple of grenades rolled into the trench," Lucas said shortly before he received the medal from President Truman in October 1945. "I hollered to my pals to get out and did a Superman dive at the grenades. I wasn't a Superman after I got hit. Obama Doesn't Want Hillary As VP
2008-06-06 01:15:00
Sen. Barack Obama said Thursday that he's in no rush to pick a vice presidential candidate, telling CNN "everybody needs to settle down" and let the vetting process run its course.Speaking with CNN's Candy Crowley on Thursday in Bristow, Virginia, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee said it's not in his best interest -- or in the interest of former rival Sen. Hillary Clinton -- to make a hasty decision about whom his running mate will be."We just completed this arduous process," Obama said. "It's only been two days, and I think it's not just in my interest and Sen. Clinton's interest, but in the Democratic Party's interest and the country's interest to make sure I make this decision well."Calling his choice of running mate "the most important decision that I will make before I am president," the senator from Illinois said he would "be deliberate and systematic about it, because this will be my final counselor when I am making decisions in the White House, and I w...
A Bit Of A Hypocritical Threat

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Japan's prime minister Thursday that the world will soon not include the United States, Iranian news agency IRNA reported."The U.S. domination is on the fall. Iran and Japan as two civilized and influential nations should get ready for a world minus the U.S.," Ahmadinejad told Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on the sidelines of the U.N. food summit in Rome on Tuesday, IRNA reported. The hard-line leader called for Japan's cooperation in finding their historical and true status, IRNA reported."No body or power can wipe Iran off the world scene and Iranian nation of course can well manage its affairs under such an atmosphere," he said. Now, if the US said ANYTHING REMOTELY like this, it'd be all over the front page of every newspaper in the world. But everyone just seems to think "oh well, he's just a fanatical idiot", and they ignore him.Personally, I take his words as a direct threat against us. Now, let's have Iran, especially Ahma...

Plead Guilty To 9/11

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed wants to become a martyr for his role as mastermind of the September 11 attacks, he told a U.S. military judge Thursday.Mohammed wishes to dismiss his lawyers, plead guilty and become a martyr, he said at his long-awaited arraignment at the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The judge, Marine Col. Ralph Kohlmann, asked Mohammed numerous times if he understood that he faces the death penalty. Mohammed responded, "That is what I wish. I wish to be martyred."He told Kohlmann he could not accept any attorney because he only believes in Sharia, or Islamic law.Mohammed and his four co-defendants, all suspected al Qaeda figures, are being arraigned on numerous charges for their alleged roles in the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on New York and Washington, which killed nearly 3,000 people.I'm happy to oblige. 3,000 people are dead because of this guy. The Fat Lady's Warming Up
2008-06-05 19:31:00
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will endorse Senator Barack Obama on Saturday, bringing a close to her campaign for the White House, aides said. Her decision came after Democrats urged her Wednesday to leave the race and allow the party to coalesce around Mr. Obama.Mrs. Clinton's aides said she would "express her support for Senator Obama and party unity" at an event in Washington, D.C., that day. One adviser said that Mrs. Clinton would concede defeat, congratulate Mr. Obama and proclaim him the party's nominee, while pledging to do what was needed to assure his victory. Her decision came after a day of conversations with supporters on Capitol Hill about her future now that Mr. Obama had clinched the nomination. Mrs. Clinton had, in a speech after Tuesday night's primaries, suggested she wanted to wait before deciding about her future, but in conversations throughout the day Wednesday, her aides said, she was urged to step aside. There's really nothing to do but concede. New Refineries
2008-06-05 00:12:00
Well it's about time we built a new gasoline refinery. We haven't built a new one in the US since 1976. I was a toddler when that happened. Here's the thing though, I'm done with gasoline. The first time a car comes out that is reliable, relatively affordable, and uses NO gas, I'm purchasing it. I'm simply sick of listening to the anti-American rallies in the Middle East, even before the war in Iraq. You don't treat a customer like that. I'd be happy if we completely ignore the Middle East, except for Israel and friendly Arab nations. Let them sell their oil to the Chinese and the Indians. It doesn't matter how you slice it, the loss of the American market by OPEC nations would be a devestating blow that they couldn't recover from. China already has massive pollution, and they couldn't possibly take up the slack that the US market loss would cause. The best part? Funding for terrorism would dry up and those who used to think they had us by the balls would now have the roles...

Around Obama's cock?Jesus, take a look at this piece of work from everyone:Barack Obama's triumph over Hillary Clinton triggered jubilation among his relatives in Kenya, hope among people around the world-and a few questions about he actually stands for. Many expressed optimism Wednesday that a November victory by Obama-who has relatives in Africa and childhood friends in Asia-would mark a major shift from the deeply unpopular policies of the Bush administration. In Kenya, home to Obama's family on his father's side, the Kenya Times newspaper devoted its front page to the story, under the headline "Obama makes history.""I've just watched him on television, and as a family we are very happy. Really, it is something that is a trendsetter," the politician's uncle, Said Obama, told The Associated Press from the port city of Kisumu in western Kenya. In Mexico City, hairdresser Susan Mendoza's eyes lit up when she learned Obama had clinched the nomination."Bush was for the elite.
