That's clearly on display with Measure 49, just as it was with Measure 37 three years ago. 2007-10-20 06:05:00 Stimson Lumber has contributed another $175,000 to the campaign against Measure 49, Oregonians In Action reported Wednesday morning. The Portland-based lumber company, the top supporter of the opposition to the measure, has now contributed $375,000. Read the full story from the Oregonian. Stimson Lumber has filed Measure 37 claims on over 100,000 acres (36,000 in Washington County alone) and demanded nearly $270 million in compensation from Oregon taxpayers if the timber company is not allowed to build subdivisions on protected forest land. At a recent Willammette Week endorsement interview, Stimson Lumber CEO Andrew Miller attended representing No on 49.
