Warm welcome for Sunita in ancestral Town

Indian American astronaut Suni ta Williams got a Warm and Whistlining welcome at her ancestral home in Gujarat's Jhulasan village on Friday as crowds eager to see the space hero.People were visibly overjoyed as Sunita smiled and kept waving to them. She could not visit Jhulasan, about 50 km from Ahmedabad, the last time she came to Gujarat in 1998.Jhulasan is in Mehsana district, on the Ahmedabad-Delhi highway.Dressed in a purple khadi kurta, bought specially for the occasion, the astronaut and her family members, including father D K Pandya, drove straight to the village temple.While she offered prayers, security personnel had a tough time controlling the mass of people who had gathered there since morning just to see her. And there was more jubilation as news spread that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had talked to Sunita over telephone and invited her to New Delhi.

Dhoni became captian of Indian ODI team

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the India 's new ODI captain told by BCCI sources.The official announcement of Dhoni's appointment is expected to be made in Mumbai after 1:00 pm (IST) on Tuesday.The selectors are currently meeting in Mumbai to decide on not only the captaincy issue but also to pick the team for the Australian tour.Once the selectors make their decision, a press release will be circulated which, if reports are to be believed, will bear the name of Dhoni as ODI captain.His name was finalised after Sachin Tendulkar, who was believed to be the selectors first choice, apparently declined the offer to lead the team.Irfan Pathan is likely to return to the ODI squad for the Australia series while Munaf Patel will be dropped for the downtown tour.Sources also revealed that Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag will have to wait for a comeback alongwith either Ajit Agarkar or Rohit Sharma.
