Edwards Endorsement as NC Primary Clock Ticks Down
2008-04-10 16:46:00
On May 6th, 2008, North Carolinians will go to the polls and vote in the presidential primaries. The most recent "Real Clear Politics" NC poll average shows Democratic Sen. Barack Obama leading over Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton 48.6 to 33.0. However as the primary clock ticks down, neither candidate is yet to receive the nod from North Carolina resident and former presidential candidate, John Edwards .It is unclear how much, if any, impact an Edwards endorsement would bring to the primary table. However it is a coveted endorsement by both candidates as they face the primaries in Edward's home state. Both Senators Clinton and Barack Obama have stepped off the campaign trail to seek his support.Even though Edward's wife Elizabeth strongly favors Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s universal health care proposal, she said Wednesday that neither she nor her husband would endorse a candidate for president soon.Edwards has kept somewhat of a low profile since dropping off the presid...

The Wright Explanation for Godless Teachings
2008-04-08 12:39:00
As a Christian who sees the Holy Bible as the complete word of God, I have been racking my brain to try to figure out how a pastor could take the Holy Bible and twist it to support separatism, racism and some of the other downright Godless beliefs adopted to by Reverend Jeremiah Wright , Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and The Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, IL. The problem was that I was not looking past the authority the Church claims to use.Ryan Lizza wrote an article about Barack Obama's unlikely political education for the New Republic last year that gave insight to the spiritual past and education of the group. After many lectures like this, Obama decided to take a second look at Wright's church. Older pastors warned him that Trinity was for "Buppies"--black urban professionals--and didn't have enough street cred. But Wright was a former Muslim and black nationalist who had studied at Howard and Chicago, and Trinity's guiding principles--what t...
Tar and Feather McCain Fund Comes Up Short
2008-04-07 12:47:00
As the Democrats continue to eat their own in the primary battle, one of the party's ultimate goals appears to be coming up short of funds.Tom Matzzie, a former MoveOn official, who helped create "Fund for America", reportedly told The Washington Post that the group would raise more than $100 million to support the activities of a range of allied groups. The group was expected to serve as a financial clearinghouse for progressive soft-money expenditures in the presidential election. However the group's dream of a hard-hitting campaign to "define" and tar Republican presidential candidate John McCain appears to be fizzling before its eyes due to lack of donations.Politico reports:"Many of the people who would normally be involved in such an effort are overly focused on the primary, which is a mistake," said Michael Vachon, a spokesman for George Soros, who is the largest individual donor to the Fund for America, which in turn has passed on at least $1.4 million to what was expe...

Moonbat Chatter-An Obama, Gore Ticket?
2008-04-04 13:12:00
Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama has been vying for another jewel in his "King Liberal" crown since last year when he publicly posed an offer to Al Gore to join him in a "very senior capacity" as his "global warming" guru. Talk has heated up in the last fews weeks from analysts of a possible Obama-Gore ticket. However there has also been comments saying the rumor is nothing more than attempt to sway attention from other areas of Obama's vulnerability."He’s trying to change the subject . . . and make him(self) the front-runner for the general election," said Republican strategist Holly Robichaud. "That’s good news for the GOP. For Republicans, it’s kind of a funny thing. We don’t like Al Gore. Once again it solidifies Obama’s image as the liberal’s liberal," she said.On Sunday, London’s Sunday Telegraph, published a story claiming that former Gore campaign operatives have confirmed that his inner circle actually mapped out a plan for a Gore campaign la...

And John McCain's New VP is...........
2008-04-03 14:00:00
John McCain said Wednesday that he is "getting together a list" of names to be his running mate, but he said the process is in its early stages. He is yet to release the names of possible candidates, yet it has not stopped anyone from speculating on who may be on it.The following list obtained from npr is pretty much standard of the speculations from most analysts.Mississippi Gov. Haley BarbourFormer Florida Gov. Jeb BushFlorida Gov. Charlie CristSen. Lindsey Graham of South CarolinaFormer Arkansas Gov. Mike HuckabeeSen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of TexasSen. Joe Lieberman (I-D) of ConnecticutAlaska Gov. Sarah PalinMinnesota Gov. Tim PawlentyFormer Rep. Rob Portman of OhioFormer Massachusetts Gov. Mitt RomneySouth Carolina Gov. Mark SanfordSen. John Thune of South DakotaAs a former (and future) volunteer of the Mike Huckabee campaign, I would of course like to see him become the VP nominee. I think a Huckabee selection would also help to ease dissatisfaction among some in the evangelica...

Reverends Gone Wild-The Ongoing Pastor Saga In America
2008-04-03 03:06:00
For years I have been trying to determine how people who call themselves Christians can justifiably vote for a candidate who represents a down right evil platform. A liberal’s support for such abominations as gay marriage, abortion and other issues are repulsive to and are directly in defiance to the word of God. I could never understand how a person can sit in church on Sunday morning and then go out the very next day to rally around a candidate or become a candidate who not only supports such issues but fights to promote them as well.Although I myself am a sinner who often falls short of the glory of God, my vote against such evil practices are a no-brainer to me. I had previously theorized that the problem lies with the misconception of many that one only has to attend a church or believe that Jesus exists to be a Christian. While it is true we are not saved by works, this is a misconception that falls far short of true salvation and can lead to a path of damnation. If the 2008...

CA Senator Wants To End Laws Effecting Communist Educators
2008-04-01 18:28:00
I once had an older friend that always referred to Democrats as "Communist s"-sometimes with a four letter word before the title. I can't help but wonder what he would think about Sen. Alan Lowenthal of California.Lowenthal, a state senator, is seeking to dismantle Cold War-era laws aimed at penalizing individuals who join the Communist Party. His proposed legislation goes before the Senate Education Committee on Wednesday and it would repeal statutes that allow teachers and other public employees to be fired from their jobs if they are communists. He called the provisions "outdated" and "unconstitutional." "Being a member of the Communist Party in and of itself does not mean you advocate the overthrow of the government. It doesn’t mean we agree with them, but they’re not a threat to our survival," he said."At a time when California students are struggling to pass basic exams, Senator Lowenthal is focusing on communism — the very government system responsible for the deaths ...

The Goods On Hillary Further General Election Mess For Dems
2008-03-30 10:44:00
Dick Morris first worked for Bill and Hillary Clinton during Bill's 1978 successful bid for Governor of Arkansas. Morris continued serving as an advisor to the Clintons all the way to Bill's stint in the oval office. If you want the goods on Democratic presidential Hillary Clinton, he is the man to go to.Morris is in no way shy about providing information on Hillary. In a recent article coauthored by Eileen McGann, he compiled a list of Hillary's "admitted lies" and stated that she "simply cannot tell the truth."Here is a look at Hillary's scoreboard according to the article.• Chelsea was jogging around the Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. (She was in bed watching it on TV.)• Hillary was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. (She admitted she was wrong. He climbed Mt. Everest five years after her birth.)• She was under sniper fire in Bosnia. (A girl presented her with flowers at the foot of the ramp.)• She learned in The Wall Street Journal how to make a killing in the futur...

Saddam Picked Up Tab For Dem Congressional Trip
2008-03-27 13:11:00
On Wednesday the unsealed Justice Department indictment against Muthanna Al-Hanooti-a top official for a Detroit based Muslim charity called Life for Relief-reflects that Saddam Hussein’s principal foreign intelligence paid for a 2002 widely criticized visit to Iraq by three House Democrats.Al-Hanooti is charged with conspiring to act as an agent of the Iraqi government, violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act by illegally obtaining the Iraqi oil contract, and three counts of making false statements to FBI agents.Al-Hanooti, who was arrested at Detroit Metropolitan Airport Tuesday night after returning from a trip to the Middle East is said to have planned and organized the trip of House Democrats Jim McDermott of Washington State, Mike Thompson of California and the now retired David E. Bonior of Michigan. All three congressional members making the trip were against a war with Iraq and McDermott charged that President George W. Bush was willing to "mislead the A...

No Escape for Pelosi When Dems Eat Their Own
2008-03-27 12:13:00
The Democratic party's effort to eat its own as it implodes from within has not spared Speaker Nancy Pelosi from the action. A group of wealthy Dems supporting Hillary Clinton's campaign for the presidency has sent a warning letter to Pelosi regarding her recent comments about how superdelegates should base their support decision.Pelosi has not officially endorsed either Sen. Barack Obama or Sen. Hillary Clinton for the nomination. However she recently stated in a ABC interview that "If the votes of the superdelegates overturn what's happened in the elections, it would be harmful to the Democratic party." The statement was widely reported as a boost to the Obama campaign since he is currently leading in pledged delegates. The donors indirectly threatened Pelosi's purse strings as "strong supporters of the DCCC" and urged her to "clarify" her position with "a more open view ."Here is the letter in its entirety. The Honorable Nancy PelosiSpeaker of the US House of Representatives...

Obama and Rev. Wright-Who's Supporting Who?
2008-03-26 12:37:00
Rev. Jeremiah Wright 's tendency to preach bizarre and often hate filled political doctrine versus the teachings of the Holy Bible has been widely reported. As the former pastor of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama 's home church-Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago-he can be seen in many videos stumping directly in the pulpit for Barack Obama. The "church" itself has come under IRS investigation for what appears to be blatant violations of allowed political activity under the guidelines for tax-exempt status as a church described in section 501(c)(3) and in section 170(b)(1)(A)(i)of the IRS Code.See related story: Obama's Church No Stranger to the IRSBarack Obama may be trying to distance himself from some of the Anti-American, anti-semitic and racist statements made by Wright in the pulpit but the recent release of Obama's tax returns reflect continued financial support of the "church" and hence its message. In 2005 and 2006 alone, the Obama family gave $...
Hillary Weighs In On Pastor Disaster
2008-03-26 11:47:00
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton previously refrained from inserting herself into the firestorm surrounding the recently revealed hate doctrine favored by rival candidate Sen. Barack Obama's home church in Chicago. On Tuesday she told reporters from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that "He would not have been my pastor. You don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend."Clinton went on to compare Wright's remarks to the "hate speech" of talk-show host Don Imus, who was fired from CBS last year for comments he made about the Rutgers women's basketball team.Clinton's comments about Obama's choice are dead on target. However the timing of her response appears to be a move to deflect attention from her own controversy. Hillary was recently caught exaggerating the conditions of a trip she made to Bosnia during her reign as first lady. She has admitted that she "misspoke" about the visit.

Obama Campaign Tries To Link Hillary to Wright
2008-03-21 05:58:00
On Thursday evening, the Obama campaign released to the New York Times a 1998 picture of former president Bill Clinton with Jeremiah Wright at a White House function and also a letter written to Wright from Hillary Clinton that thanked him for the function's prayer.Presidential candidates meet thousands of people on the campaign trail and take thousands of pictures with complete strangers. If a candidate actually obtains the presidency much more of the same awaits plus they gain a large support staff whose primary purpose is to do things like write polite "thank you letters." Many of these letters are signed by the president or their spouse without either ever actually remembering the event it references. After all, they do have other things to focus on.A spokesman for Clinton campaign said that they did not believe the Clintons had met with Mr. Wright before the speech or were aware of any views expressed by him at his church. The Obama campaign said that they were providing the ...

Obama's Super Delegate Pastor Sounds Super Familiar
2008-03-20 12:24:00
State Senator,Rev. James T. Meeks (D-IL) is a super delegate pledged to presidential candidate Barack Obama. It has been said that Meeks is an advisor and confidant of Obama. He has also been known to render controversial sermons in the pulpit of his Chicago based church-Salem Baptist. The video below reflects one of his sermons and its message sounds earily familiar. If you have trouble viewing this video, click here.Meeks has also been identified as receiving $20,000 in campaign donations from Antoin "Tony" Rezko of Chicago. Obama has recently come under fire for accepting large campaign contributions from Rezko who started receiving tax dollars to build housing for the poor after donating major amounts of money to particular political campaigns. Rezko is currently on trial for corruption charges. Is it just me or is the Obama campaign starting to sound like a broken record?

Obama Refuses To Cut Ties With Racist Pastor
2008-03-18 17:47:00
On Tuesday Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama gave what many has dubbed "the race speech" in an attempt to explain his view on video clips recently released into the media showing some of the anti-American, racist and hate filled sermons delivered by his mentor and former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Obama previously claimed amnesia and sited absence at church services as an excuse for his tolerance of Wright's remarks. Today he had a different story.(To see an example of the referenced video clips, click here.)"Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely – just as I’m sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed."After his admission to being present and aware, he offered th...

Obama's Church No Stranger to the IRS
2008-03-17 06:57:00
Recently I wrote an article about how "sermons" given by Rev. Jeremiah Wright at presidential candidate Barack Obama's home "church"-the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, IL-clearly reflected violations of the Internal Revenue Service's guidelines for allowed political activity. What I was not aware of when I wrote the original article, is the fact that this "church" is no stranger to the IRS. They have recently been warned. To read referenced article, review the quoted tax guidelines and witness the travesty yourself, click here. On February 25, 2008 the UCC received a letter from the IRS stating the following.Because a reasonable belief exists that the United Church of Christ ("church") has engaged in political activities that could jeopardize its tax-exempt status as a church described in section 501(c)(3) and exempt under section 501(a), this letter is notice of the beginning of a church tax inquiry described in IRC section 7611(a). We are sending it because we belie...
A Needed Knock On A Chicago Church Door
2008-03-14 13:24:00
When Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) was running for the Republican nomination, many Southern Baptist preachers received "official looking" anonymous letters prior-warning them that if they in any way tried to sway support for Huckabee in the pulpit that they would be subject to loosing their tax-exempt status from the IRS. The Republican nomination has been settled and now a legitimate violation of the IRS statutes has been discovered. The IRS states the standard clearly:To be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual. In addition, it may not be an action organization, i.e., it may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates. . .Political activities are defined a...

Dr. Death For Congress
2008-03-13 11:26:00
The infamous Jack Kevorkian a.k.a "Dr. Death " has claimed to have helped over 130 people commit suicide. His medical license was revoked and he served time in the pen but was paroled last year due to good behavior. What does he plan to do with his new found freedom? Run for congress of course."We need some honesty and sincerity instead of corrupt government in Washington," he said regarding his candidacy. The 9th District,Oakland County, Michigan seat that Kevorkian seeks is currently being held by Rep. Joe Knollenberg, a Republican. Democrats have targeted Knollenberg for replacement through candidate Gary Peters in a hotly contested race.Democrats couldn't possibly be joyous about Kevorkian's Independent run. They have nonetheless put on their game face. Peters spokeswoman Julie Petrick said "anybody has the right to run" but said their campaign was "one of the top races in the country as far as viability and our ability to win here."Although Kevorkian is a convicted felon, ...

The Continued Fight of Rep. Steve King

Recently I wrote an article for CrossAction News highlighting Rep. Steve King 's (R-IA) fight to bring a dose of reality to American politics. This is a story and a congressman that deserves additional coverage.See referenced storyWe patriotic, conservative Americans-who have a tendency to look at reality-still have a voice. When we find it, we must rally around it. We must give it the recognition it deserves or it will extinguished.I've never personally met King but he has definitely found an ally in me. It is people like King, Sen. Jim DeMint and the lesser known Congressman Gresham Barrett who still give me hope in the future of American government. That being said, below is news coverage of statements King made regarding the realities of a "President Barack Hussein Obama." King has come under the fire of not only those of the leftist mindset but also by members of his own party who are conscientiously catering to "pc-moderatism."(Hat tip to my friend The Realjohnny2k for vide...

GOP leaders in the state of New York are requesting that Democratic New York Governor Eliot Spitzer resign within 24 to 48 hours or face impeachment proceedings. This comes after Spitzer was caught with his pants down-well not literally but close enough. The scandal erupted when allegations surfaced that Spitzer, who built his political reputation on rooting out corruption, spent thousands of dollars for a night with a call girl named Kristen at a posh Washington hotel.George Fox, a friend and campaign contributor to Spitzer, found out on Tuesday that it was his name that Spitzer appeared to be using as an alias when contacting the prostitution ring. Fox said the discovery of his name in the sex scandal came "as a great surprise and disappointment."However not all have a low opinion of Spitzer. Clinton Seeks To Reunite With Left By Touting Homosexual Agenda
2008-03-11 09:28:00
When the talking head pundits convinced many conservative voters that the Republican nomination process was over-before it actually was-many of them particularly in the state of Texas crossed over to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the hopes of stopping the progress of a flaming liberal monstrosity by the name of Sen. Barack Obama. While it is true that Clinton is not quite as out of touch with reality as Obama on some issues, it appears she is seeking to reestablish her place among liberals by reminding them of an area where there is essentially no difference between the two.During a recent interview with Washington Blade-who has branded itself the "weekly news source for Washington’s large and visible Gay community"-she reiterated her unwaivering support and advancement of the homosexual agenda.During the interview she talked of her continued fight against a federal marriage amendment protecting the sanctity of marriage and spoke of the provision of ...

I'm writing this post to let you know that yes I am still alive and yes I do plan to continue bringing coverage and analysis of today's political news at this personal blog on a routine basis. The reason for my previously unexplained disappearance is simple. I've been busy with current political obligations at home. This is not a bad thing. It is a good thing. God willing, I plan to start normal exercising of the blog pen, no later than Monday. Until then my coverage/rants will be sporadic. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy previously posted articles, articles carried on other media sites and those written by my more-than-adequate blog partners. Above all don't forget to check back often for updates and keep fighting the good fight wherever you call home. Thanks for reading!
Standing In The Political Gap For Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
2008-03-05 20:18:00
A truly sickening site is the bending and twisting God's word and a man's morals to fit a political agenda. Yet it happens time and time again and in the center often stands the memory of the late Dr. Martin Luther King , Jr.During the South Carolina primary, Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama did so on a national stage. The Obama camp supporters accused Hillary Clinton of diminishing King's roll in Civil Rights. Camp Hillary supporters accused the Obama camp of trying to unjustly flair racial tensions in order to obtain a vote.In reality they both pollute the memory of Dr. King. Both have driven their message to race in order to obtain a vote in defiance of King's desire for an even playing field where people are not judged by the color of their skin. Ironically, according to an article by Francis Rice posted on the site of the National Black Republicans, Dr. King was "fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned sk...

Hillary and Edwards In Hypocritical Battle Over Driver's Licenses For Illeg
2007-11-05 12:31:00
John Edwards has recently went on the attack via debates and campaign adds about Hillary Clinton's flip flopping on various issues. One of his favorite areas to pound Hillary has been her now infamous stance on offering driver's license to illegal aliens."I heard her say two different things. I don't know what she's calling for. I mean she said the first time she was asked she said one thing and then when Senator Dodd said something, she said something different. That's what I heard," Edwards said at a recent debate. In a recent campaign video it was not necessary for him to say a single word. The inclusion of various speech clips from Hillary was more than enough. However there is one problem. Edward's attack appears to be a proverbial example of the pot calling the kettle black.Edwards supported issuing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants when he was running for vice president in 2004. As a recent guest on ABC's "This Week" he said that he opposed the New York plan to...

Westboro Church Founder A Democratic Politician Honored By NAACP
2007-11-01 16:38:00
Much has been said recently in the media about the group known as "Westboro Baptist Church " that protests at the funerals of dead soldiers by carrying signs proclaiming such messages as "Thank God for dead soldiers." However little has been said about the group's founder, Frederick Waldron Phelps. Many may find it quite interesting that Phelp's ties and activities reach far beyond that of the organization he founded.Phelps was born in Mississippi, in 1929. He became an attorney and was awarded special honors by the NAACP for cases he tried in the 1970s and 80s. However he was permanently disbarred from practicing law in 1987 for slander, libel, extortion, and harassment.Phelps is a registered Democrat that has ran for the Democratic primary for governor in Kansas three times (1990, 1994, and 1998). He was ranked as the 5th "Most Interesting People in Politics" by John F. Kennedy, Jr., in George Magazine. It appears his actions with one group overshadows those with others.http:/...

Protesters at Soldier's Funeral Ordered to Pay $10.9 Million
2007-11-01 14:45:00
Albert Snyder of York, Pa, sobbed as the $10.9 million victory was read in his suit against protesters of his fallen son's funeral. His son, Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder, was killed during his duty as a U.S. Marine in the war in Iraq. He should have been given the peaceful and respectful burial that is befitting of a hero. Instead his ceremony was plagued with protesters carrying signs displaying such messages as "Thank God for dead soldiers."It is unclear however what if any amount of the awarded damages Snyder will actually receive. The defense attorney for the protesting organization stated that it has combined assets totaling less than a million dollars. The organization, deceptively named Westboro Baptist Church, is not affiliated with any Baptist associations or conventions and has been widely seen as a cult. It has routinely protested at soldier's funerals all over the U.S. and claims that it will continue to do so.Members of the organization also protested outside of the...

Kucinich Hears Directions From UFOs and Questions Bush's Mental Health
2007-10-31 10:36:00
Actress/Clairvoyant Shirley McClain is releasing a book on November 6 about her life experiences. In this book she talks of an experience in the 1980s with her close personal friend and presidential hopeful Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH).In this book she states that Kucinich experienced an encounter with a UFO at her home in Washington in the 1980s. "He saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him. It hovered for about ten minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."A spokesperson for Congressman Kucinich told Fox News in Cleveland that he had no comment when they broke the story. He did however admit to seeing the UFO when asked about it at the presidential debate that took place on October 30, 2007.In a recent interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer Kuncinich raised questions about President George W. Bush's mental health. "I seriously believe we have to start asking q...
