Prices of petroleum products hiked by Rs3 per litre
2008-04-17 20:25:00 CNews ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Thursday increased the petrol and diesel prices further by Rs3 per litre.The new petroleum products? prices will take effect after 12 midnight.The announcement of the price rise came after a delay of one day because matter was to be consulted with the Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar.The price of petrol and diesel were proposed to be increased by Rs3.50 per litre. However, finally the prices were raised by Rs3 per litre after consultation with the Federal Minister, Ishaq Dar.Meanwhile, the prices crude oil jumped to 115 dollars per barrel in the international market on Thursday.Unlike Pakistan, India slashed the prices of petroleum products by paisas 73. Pakistan Day to be celebrated in befitting manner
More articles from this author:2008-03-22 10:08:00 CNews ISLAMABAD: The government has arranged several events to celebrate Pakistan Day (23rd March) falling on Sunday (Tomorrow) in a befitting manner.The events to be arranged including rallies of Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and students, exhibition of documentary films for school children and the public in cinema houses.Qirat contests, debates, essay competitions to be organized all over the country and prizes will be awarded to winners.Mushairas will be held at provincial capitals at the direction of respective Provincial Governments. Sweets will be distributed at orphanages and Darul Amans throughout the country.All radio and TV stations will broadcast and telecast special programmes on the day in which well-known workers of Tehrik-I-Pakistan will be invited to participate.Governors and Chief Ministers will host receptions at the Provincial Capitals.
