Romney doing great, Huckabee coming in second
2007-11-14 20:03:00 Two New Iowa Polls: Romney Leads Solidly, but Huckabee is new FOTM (Flavor of the Month) From MyManMitt Posted: 13 Nov 2007 10:37 PM CSTTwo new Iowa Polls out today:CBS/NYT GOP Iowa Caucus Poll, conducted Nov. 2nd-12th, 2007 (no previous polling from this firm to compare to)Mitt Romney 27%Mike Huckabee 21%Rudy Giuliani 15%Fred Thompson 9%John McCain 4%Ron Paul 4%Tom Tancredo 3%Huckabee's supporters are airing this one far and wide (can you blame them?) . . . however, this is the highest Huckabee has ever polled in Iowa. He is to Iowa social conservatives what Fred Thompson was to national social conservatives a few months back . . . i.e. "The Flavor of the Month." Huckabee's record is far worse than Fred Thompson's. He's a much better speaker/campaigner than Fred, but his open-borders immigration history and his fiscal liberalism will be thoroughly exposed. It's pretty obvious that he's not quite what his current supporters think he is (sounds like Fred, eh?). Fred had a good ... More About: Great

The Romney Record: Higher Ethical Standards In Washington
2007-11-09 18:39:00 "We can't have ethical standards that are a punch line for Jay Leno. When Republicans act like Democrats, America loses," – Governor Romney (Governor Mitt Romney, Remarks At The Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference, Mackinac Island, MI, 9/22/07)Governor Romney Believes Officials In Washington Should Live Up To Higher Ethical Standards :Governor Romney Has Proposed A New Ethics Law That Would Strip Those Who Violate The Public Trust Of Their Government Pensions. "Saying it's time to clean up the ethics in Washington, Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney today said he is proposing to strip pension benefits of any elected official or federal government employee who is convicted of a felony for violating the public trust." (Rod Boshart, "Romney: Time To Shore Up Ethics," Cedar Rapids Gazette, 8/2/07) - Governor Romney: "There are a lot of things about Washington that give me real pause. Mitt Romney Supports Home Schooling
2007-11-09 16:07:00 Romney Wants Tax Help for Home SchoolingBy SEANNA ADCOX – 1 day agoCOLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Parents who home school their children should get a tax credit to help offset the expense of teaching, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Wednesday."I also believe parents who are teaching their kids at home, homeschoolers, deserve a break, and I've asked for a tax credit to help parents in their homes with the cost of being an at-home teacher," he said.Romney supports giving parents more educational options, through charter schools or vouchers, but he said legislation should be done on a state level."I really hesitate to have the federal government become too involved in local schools," he said.Romney also said teachers are underpaid and better teachers should be rewarded with more money..."I'd like to see there be a relationship between the pay of the teacher and their performance, their career track, their ability to mentor other students," Romney told more than 100 peop... Romney Gets a Great Marriage Ammendment Conservative
2007-11-01 00:42:00 Romney Campaign Brings on Key Religious Conservative By David BrodyOctober 31, 2007Mitt Romney's campaign tells The Brody File that Bill Wichterman, who used to do conservative and religious outreach for Fred Thompson's campaign, has joined Team Romney. This is a nice "get." He'll be a part of the Faith and Values steering committee.Bill Wichterman left the Thompson campaign because Thompson DOES NOT support the federal marriage amendment. At least the version that is on the table now. Mitt Romney does support it. Wichterman liked that fit. Who can blame him? This is a guy who has been big on the federal marriage amendment for years. When Bill Frist was trying to push the amendment through the Senate, it was Wichterman who was leading the charge by getting social conservative groups organized and mobilized. Expect him to be a big boost for the Romney campaign when it comes to the marriage issue. His depth of knowledge here is masterful. It's not just the marriage issue. By nabbing ... The Two-Man Race Only Rudy and Mitt have credible scenarios.
2007-10-31 13:22:00 The Two-Man Race Only Rudy and Mitt have credible scenarios.by Fred Barnes11/05/2007, Volume 013, Issue 08Ron Paul has been a striking presence in the Republican presidential debates. One result is he's raised an unimaginable amount of money--$5.1 million in the third quarter--for an obscure congressman from Texas. Another is he's jumped to fourth place (7.4 percent) in a New Hampshire primary poll. Yet practically no one takes him seriously as a possible Republican presidential nominee. The reason is Paul has no credible scenario for winning the nomination, much less the presidency.Scenarios matter. They offer a way to judge the presidential race. Strong candidates can outline a sequence of likely victories or impressive finishes in the caucuses and primaries that would lead to the nomination. Weak candidates can't. And, to be clear, a strategy and a scenario aren't the same. A scenario is a vision of a candidate's path to victory. At this point, with the first voting just nine ... More About: Giuliani , Cena
There Is NO Problem With Mitt Being Mormon!
2007-10-31 02:24:00 Hello???? People Just Stop Creating Problem s When There Aren't Any!For over a hundred years, since the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints inception its the same old garbage. Mormon haters - go put your wasted energy on something more productive - like Rudy Giuliani - the wolf in sheep's clothing. No matter what you do, say, or vomit, the Latter-Day Saint Church is NOT going to go away. You must be insanely jealous of its success to keep re-hashing the same old nonsense century after century. I have been a member of several denominations and have solidly chosen a life as a devout Mormon because your types of Church's did not promote and adhere to the values of the Scriptures and the Christianity that was revealed to me by the Holy Ghost. I searched for decades finding a truth that aligned with what I knew in my heart to be true. The constant bickering and tirades against Mormons are just so much wasted energy its pitiful. ISIS Catches Syria in a Nuclear Coverup
2007-10-30 16:39:00 From Newt Gingrich :Satellite Photos Show Suspected Syria n Nuclear Sites Wiped CleanCommercial satellite photos taken last Wednesday show that the suspected nuclear weapons production site in Syria bombed by Israel last month have been quickly "wiped clean" by Syrian authorities.According to analysts, Syria's quick clean up of the bombing sites is a tacit admission of guilt for something they have always denied: That they were, in fact, attempting to build nuclear weapons until Israel stopped them.In August, satellite photos of the site showed a tall square building on the site. But the site had been wiped clean by last week. Look at these images from the Institute for Science and International Security: The ISIS website has more pictures and analysis. And former UN Ambassador John Bolton had an excellent piece in the Wall Street Journal (subscription required). They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. If so, this is 1,000 words worth of proof that we live in a dangerous world. And... More About: Coverup , Isis

He will be joining Governor Romney as he campaigns throughout New Hampshire today and in the coming weeks and months.Gregg Endorses Mitt "I am proud to stand alongside Governor Romney as he campaigns to build a stronger America. For months, the people of New Hampshire have had the opportunity to meet Governor Romney all over the state and listen to his ideas for bringing change to Washington. Mitt Romney embodies New Hampshire's values ? values that stress government living within its means, lower taxes, a stronger military and stronger families," said Senator Gregg. Arnold finally grabbed her hand to try to get her to face reason. Things in "Caulifornia" were OKAY.Watch for yourself REAL (2.21MB) or Windows (2.51MB)Shipman interviewed the governor on Wednesday's "Good Morning America" and wondered about "the comparison to Katrina that everybody's making in the back of their mind..." At one point, Governor Schwarzenegger cut off Shipman's pleas for negative assessments of the effort by grabbing her arm. Just a Reminder - Giuliani is Backed By Gays Who Say He is the "Ideal Candi
2007-10-26 04:53:00 I saw this again this topic this weekend and its worth reviewing. Values Voters and Social Conservatives have a lot to worry about with Rudy. Actually Mitt is the only GOP candidate willing to make a national amendment defining marriage between a man and a woman. So, I wonder, how cozy is Rudy with his "alternative lifestyle" pals? Enough. More than enough. Log Cabin Republicans endorse him as the "ideal candidate." Giuliani "endorses" Gay rights. See the New York Sun article "Log Cabin Group Lists Giuliani as Ideal Candidate." Well just how much of that lovin is spreading to Rudy's campaign. From Gay Republicans Upbeat about '08:Echoing that sentiment was the keynote speaker, former Sen. Alan K. Simpson, Wyoming Republican, who told the gathering of about 200 that the party may have had its fill of platforms emphasizing social issues such as abortion and homosexual "marriage." "We're shaking some of the goofies and zanies out of the trees," Mr. Simpson said. How 'bout them "... More About: Rome , American , Gays
Word Is Out - He's Just "Wicked Smart" When It Comes to Just About Everythi
2007-10-26 03:58:00 Who else but Mitt could tackle running for President with the streamlined efficiency of someone who has spent little time in the Beltway and more time developing that wonderful "rugged individualism" of a self-made American. I remember hearing the story Mitt shares of how his father encouraged him to "make his money first" and then pursue the politics. What a far cry from Hillary's methods. Politico 's great article describes how "Minding Business Pays Off for Romney". And, as we enter the final push before primary votes are cast, Romney has accomplished a remarkable objective: He has gone from being a little-known governor of a liberal-leaning Democratic state to the leading Republican candidate in public opinion polls in both critical early-primary states, New Hampshire and Iowa.In other words, by historic measures, Romney is better-positioned to win the nomination than former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani or Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson ? both of whom are trouncing him in nationa... More About: Word , Smart , Reid , Harry
Akron City Council Stops Saying Lord's Prayer
2007-10-25 22:05:00 For over 50 years the City of Akron used the Lord's Prayer to open its meetings. Now that has stopped. The ACLU is said to have "applauded the move". This was done to avoid the lawsuit and fees sparked by the impending litigation from Americans United. Atheism scores a big hit this last week citing the misnomer "separation of church and state."Did you know that high schools can offer a Bible class for graduation credit? Yes, that is a Constitutional right. Also, all public schools can offer Good News Groups or Bible Clubs. See more at Wallbuilders. Ooops! "Retract My Support"
2007-10-25 17:46:00 South Carolina pastor, Don Wilton, retracts support of Governor Romney? Did some of his friends put too much pressure on him? I have to add - is this ultimately about the Trinity doctrine controversy? Didn't Luther get to nail his thesis to the door of the Catholic Church at a singular moment in history? Elder Jeffrey R. Holland at the Saturday evening session of General Conference, in his talk: The Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom He Hath Sent couldn't have explained where Latter-Day Saints are coming from any better. "...Indeed no less a source than the stalwart Harper?s Bible Dictionary records that ?the formal doctrine of the Trinity as it was defined by the great church councils of the fourth and fifth centuries is not to be found in the [New Testament].?3So any criticism that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not hold the contemporary Christian view of God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost is not a comment about our commitment to Christ but rather a recognitio... Romney Complimented for Calling it "Jihad"
2007-10-25 15:10:00 Jihad Watch appreciates Mitt calling it by name "Jihad". With further reading, (sorry I can't find the link right now)it is really NOT a good thing to connect a religion to "acts of violence". From what I understand in Europe they are careful to sperate the terms. The term Islamo-Fascisim is politically "incorrect" (PIC), for example. I won't begin to define Jihad here, but it can be plainly explained at Jihad Watch: Islam 101.Romney : Democrats have accepted defeat in war against 'violent jihad'Political posturing, to be sure, but it certainly would be nice to hear more candidates -- Democrat and Republican -- begin to call the jihad what it is."Romney: Dems have accepted defeat in war against 'violent jihad'," from the Associated Press: PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Speaking in Philadelphia, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney says Democrats are accepting defeat in the battle against what he calls "radical violent jihad."Not that mainstream, passive-aggressive jihad would cons... How does Mitt do this day after day? And with a smile on his face, no less!
2007-10-25 05:35:00 Here's another intense one. Just do the best you can at trying to tune out Mickelson for Newsradio 1040 in Iowa. He just simply will not let Mitt talk. Also, his "reaction to the reactions" he made from this interview were close to the target, but still misses what Latter-Day Saints are about. This is very emotionally charged, so take a deep breath here and there. I am so impressed how Mitt can handle these kind of "altercations" probably daily. But he is clear and grounded - its the garbage blowing all around him that seems to stay steady against the railing winds. What the Mormon faith is about stepping back from the intrusion imposing itself onto the lives of others. It's about the "long-suffering and persuasion". It's about leading by example. If people only knew the personal moral code most Latter-Day Saints live up to they would be astounded! If anything, this assures me more than ever that Mitt has a clear understanding of what it means to be Latter-Day Saint running for the... More About: Radio , Interview , Face , Smile
Where did the YouTube url go? Is James Novack having vision problems?
2007-10-25 05:18:00 Very interesting... Other embedded YouTubes are working fine. The Hilary video was also working fine. Now it isn't... Neither is it working on the www.mymanmitt.com site either. Sounding a little paranoid? Perhaps... We'll see where it is tommorrow. Also, a rather negative comment from James Novack:Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney: Presented with the chance to grab some of the pro-life base in the wake of Sen. Sam Brownback's (R-Kan.) departure, Romney did not give a very good performance. He looks a little off balance lately and seems intimidated by Giuliani. But his hole card is that he leads in Iowa and New Hampshire.Gee, its astounding he could even suggest this considering this was an all out amazing weekend for Mitt.
