Say Goodbye to YearBooks
2008-05-09 01:47:00 Looks like this is last call for high school and college yearbooks. With the popularity of Facebooks and MySpace, there is little need for year books. While some traditionalists might be sad about this and might be trying to hold onto the Yearbook ritual, the reality is that today’s Y gen, doesn’t need it anymore. ... More About: Goodbye

Talkin ?bout My Generation
2008-05-07 17:21:00 Interesting post by Jimmy Biblarz on Gen Y. I agree that way too often each generation is labeled with names that don’t do any of us a bit of good. To me, Generation Y is the savviest, most knowledgeable civic-minded generation in our world right now. Let’s drop the labels and start embracing this generation! More About: My Generation

Miley Cyrus
2008-04-30 19:06:00 I had someone ask me yesterday what I thought about the Miley Cyrus situation (like I am some expert on pop culture). But…I have to admit that I do follow pop culture closely, because it always offers insight into what some of the greater concerns are for Generation Y (and to me, it’s just fun to follow). While I know our pop tarts are not a true representation of “regular life”, their lives are blown up enough for us to learn a few things from them. To be honest, as a parent who has had my ups and downs, I have to say that we will all never know the full story of what really went on during the photo shoot, nor would I ever want to pass judgment on the situation . When I look at the slideshow of the photo shoot, it appears to me that Miley and her family were very present and in control of the situation. And…the photos with the sheet show Miley at least wearing jeans underneath. It is also quite well known that Annie Liebowitz does not play it sa...
Boomers Planting a Debt Bomb
2008-04-30 16:37:00 “The biggest U.S. financial crisis isn’t the housing crunch. It’s the government debt bomb being planted by baby boomers to explode in the faces of their children and grandchildren.” This is an interesting article in the Baltimore Sun. It really has given me a great deal to think about. We have certainly created quite a challenge that Gen Y will inherit (along with trying to pay off student loans, pay for healthcare, housing and the escalating price of food and fuel). The article points to our $9 trillion in debt, which is going to leave us with very little resources to address our major concerns surrounding healthcare and education. We need to get on this today! Start getting involved and doing your part to help out. Contact your political leaders, and by all means…if you think a certain candidate can help the economy, please get out and vote in your primaries and for the national election. I don’t believe it’s fair for us to just sit... More About: Debt , Boomers , Bomb , Planting

Today?s news
2008-04-29 06:52:00 Gen Y is hit every day with stereotypes. They have been labeled as privileged, technology obsessed and avoid face-t0 face interactions. But hey, they are just like you and me.
