DOMI-NATION (Blog Against Theocracy Part 3)

(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)(click photomontage to enlarge)The Despoiling of America via The Yurica Report Theocracy...from their own mouths...~(George Grant (The Changing of the Guard: Biblical Principles for Political Action ) "Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ -- to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness. But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice. It is dominion we are after. Not just influence. It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time. It is dominion we are after. World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less... Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land -- of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ." ~Leo Strauss, the father of t...

U.S. Representative Christopher Shays, R-CT, (New York Times 3/23/05)~Theocracy is derived from the two Greek words Qeo/j (Theos) meaning "God" and kra/tein (cratein) meaning "to rule." The Reverend Rod Parsley, a champion of theocracy, or what he calls a "christocracy," told his congregation at the World Harvest Church, located just outside Columbus, Ohio, "Theocracy means God is in control, and you are not." more ~The theocratic right seeks to establish dominion, or control over society in the name of God. The late D. James Kennedy, former pastor of Coral Ridge Ministries, called on his followers to exercise "godly dominion ... over every aspect ... of human society." At a "Reclaiming America for Christ" conference in February, 2005, Kennedy said:"Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost. As the vice regents of God,...

OUR SEPARATION (Blog Against Theocracy Part 1)
2008-03-22 08:22:00
(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)(click photomontage to enlarge)The phrase "separation of church and state" is derived from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to a group identifying themselves as the Danbury Baptists. In that letter, referencing the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, Jefferson writes:"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."Another early user of the term was James Madison, the principal drafter of the United States Bill of Rights, who often wrote of "total separation of the...

(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)Would I hold my hand thus if I were such a murderous beast?Asked the wolf…Would I be thought a monster like you if I howled in horror?Asked the sheep…I howl for pleasure, little sheep! I consume to nourish my sorrow!Scolded the wolf…I do not mean to offend your howling or persuade your hunger, sir.Prayed the sheep….See my opposing thumb and how it can bring me such pleasure?Inquired the wolf…See my shivering hooves and how they frustrate me significantly?Echoed the sheep…The wind now wails its bitter speech as the wolf skulks nearer.Come! Let us sit next to one another and we shall drink a toast.Said the wolf…I shouldn’t. It’s not right to do so while so many continue to perish.Replied the sheep…Thou art afraid of me, dam? Me? A creature with such manners?Crooned the wolf…No. I- I- I just don’t think it appropriate to toast on this- of all days.Answered the sheep…But this is a day of triumph! Today’s the best day to drink to...

Put a single bullet in the palm of your hand…It lays there, obedient, glistening, motionless,Weighing no more than a thought.Sew all grenades into the sleeves of white dress shirtsMaking sure to leave the pins fully engagedAnd they shall never again need ironing.Gently lower all IEDs to the furthest depths of the seaAmong the amazing and peculiar mysteries of the deepAnd strange creatures shall dance to their silence.Place all the military tanks on the planet into large pots,Stoke all the furnaces and melt them down into a liquidAnd from them erect millions of rolling libraries.Hang all rifles and handguns from the surface of the moonLike an airplane mobile or a holiday tree ornamentAnd listen to the wind make a joyful noise.Sculpt all manner of bombs into enormous statuesWhose eyes look down and whose brows are furrowedAnd merrily stare back into their dreary faces.Place a world of peace in the palm of your hand…Feel it gently breathing, exhaling through your fingers,Weighing n...

THE ENTHUSIASTIC
2008-03-15 22:19:00
O disheveled souls sent out to butcher spirits,Sightless boys placed down in suffering’s arid grasp,Do not go out unaided in this churning despairWith its tall and fickle beast slung over your shoulder,Its eyes within you ill equipped at channeling peace. The blood, reaching high enough, will sting your eyesAnd your host will move you in front of dreadDirecting you toward a manacled liberty unaware,Its love set to rip the flesh that holds your frown,Prepared to gleefully declare that peace is dead. The beast has its place, I suppose.War.Rattling war.Without end. What has been done. The carnage laid siege to the citiesThe way monstrous death inhales,Corpses growing into the soil like freshly sown seedsWith the enthusiasm of young men. That is the thing that is most troubling. The eagerness, the unbridled pleasure. The significance of thisMay well be our ruin.© 2007 mrp/thepoetrymanH/T to The Fanonite for the video "Home of the Brave"Rolling along "K"...Karen AKKarmalisedKatrinacrat BlogK...

Barack Obama assailed as "slice and dice" politics Geraldine Ferraro's assertion that he wouldn't be where he is in the presidential race if he weren't black...."Part of what I think Geraldine Ferraro is doing, and I respect the fact that she was a trailblazer, is to participate in the kind of slice and dice politics that's about race and about gender and about this and that, and that's what Americans are tired of because they recognize that when we divide ourselves in that way we can't solve problems," Obama said on NBC's "Today" show...."Reverse Racism" rears its ugly head via TampaBay.com..."I was talking about historic candidacies and what I started off by saying (was that) if you go back to 1984 and look at my historic candidacy, which I had just talked about all these things, in 1984 if my name was Gerard Ferraro instead of Geraldine Ferraro, I would have never been chosen as a vice presidential candida...

The O’Reilly Factor: Karl Rove Points To McCain’s Adopted Daughter As Example Of McCain’s Worth iness... By: Nicole BelleIt is no longer possible to have your irony meter redline when Karl Rove appears on TV. He is so beyond the pale, so completely entrenched in his alternative reality that the only thing left to do is marvel at the brass cojones he must possess to pull off this appearance on The O’Reilly Factor. Now that the Bush administration has officially endorsed Republican nominee John McCain, Bush’s Brain tells Billo that there’s a lot about McCain that the public doesn’t know, and those things would impress them. For example, did you know that McCain adopted a dying baby from Bangladesh? Parasites, the both of them...(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)~Anti-Christ defined:In Christian eschatology, the Antichrist or anti-Christ has come to mean a person, an image of a person, or another entity that is an embodiment of evil. The word 'Antichrist' is translated from the combination of two ancient Greek words αντί + χριστος ('anti + khristos), which can mean anti "opposite" (of) khristos "anointed" therefore "opposite of Christ" (the meaning of christ as the 'anointed one', having become secondary to its meaning as the honorific of Jesus of Nazareth) or anti "as" (if) khristos "messiah" thus "in place of Christ" or a substitute for Christ. An antichrist can be opposed to Christ by striving to be in the place of Christ. The term itself appears 5 times in 1 John and 2 John of the New Test...
THE FLIP OF A COIN
2008-03-02 08:31:00
(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)(Click to enlarge) No Country for Old Men revisits themes Ethan and Joel Coen have used in Blood Simple and Fargo. The novel's motifs of chance, free-will, and predestination are familiar territory for the Coens, who presented similar threads and tapestries of "fate [and] circumstance" in those earlier works. Numerous critics cited the importance of chance to both the novel and the film, focusing on Chigurh's fate-deciding coin flipping, but noted that the nature of the film medium made it difficult to include the "self-reflective qualities of McCarthy’s novel."In The Village Voice, Scott Foundas writes that "Like McCarthy, the Coens are markedly less interested in who (if anyone) gets away with the loot than in the primal forces that urge the characters forward... In the end, everyone in No Country for Old Men is both hunter and hunted, members of some endangered species trying to forestall their extinction."New York Times critic A.O. Scott points...

(A Poetic Justice Photomontage) GOODBYE, FRIENDby FixerToday is a sad day in Blogtopia. We have learned, through a detective with the local police, that our dear friend Lurch has passed away. We didn't receive any details, the information is privileged for family members, but the cop was decent enough to give us that much.I didn't know him that well, mostly through this blog and via email, but my wife and I feel honored we were able to break bread with him when he visited Long Island a year ago....What I know of his military service would fill a thimble, though I knew he served his nation with honor and distinction as an Army paratrooper during the war in Vietnam. Through his experience and study, he was one of the most knowledgeable people when it came to the workings of the service, strategy and tactics, and some of the best insight when it came to reading between the lines on defense issues. He was an invaluable resource as well as a friend. (More…) ~I never had the pleasure...

Clinton, McCain Push Experience ButtonBy LAURA MECKLER and JACKIE CALMESFebruary 21, 2008; Page A10WASHINGTON -- Sen. Barack Obama is facing attacks on two fronts on one of the toughest issues facing his campaign: whether he has the experience necessary to be the nation's commander in chief. Both Sen. Hillary Clinton, his rival in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, and Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, are arguing that Mr. Obama, who has no military background and few foreign-policy credentials, is ill-equipped to serve as commander in chief. Both say he would stack up poorly next to Mr. McCain, a Vietnam War hero who has been involved in many foreign-policy debates during his Senate career. Mrs. Clinton also has some foreign-policy experience from her time in the Senate and as first lady. MAN IS STANDING AT THE GATE THAT OPENS TO WAR
2008-02-15 15:34:00
READ THE POEM +/-(A Poetic Justice Photomontage) The Death Mask of War (Ad Busters - the magazine)War is also the pornography of violence. It has a dark beauty, filled with the monstrous and the grotesque. War allows us to engage in lusts and passions we keep hidden in the deepest, most private interiors of our fantasy life. It allows us to destroy not only things but human beings. In that moment of wholesale destruction, we wield the power to the divine, the power to revoke another person’s charter to live on this earth. The frenzy of this destruction – and when unit discipline breaks down, or there was no unit discipline to begin with, frenzy is the right word – sees armed bands crazed by the poisonous elixir our power to bring about the obliteration of others delivers. All things, including human beings, become objects – objects to either gratify or destroy or both. Almost no one is immune. The contagion of the crowd sees to that... a poem by thepoetrymanMan is standing...

READ THE POEM +/-(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The images in the Basra police file are nauseating: Page after page of women killed in brutal fashion -- some strangled to death, their faces disfigured; others beheaded. All bear signs of torture. The women are killed, police say, because they failed to wear a headscarf or because they ignored other "rules" that secretive fundamentalist groups want to enforce."Fear, fear is always there," says 30-year-old Safana, an artist and university professor. "We don't know who to be afraid of. Maybe it's a friend or a student you teach. There is no break, no security. I don't know who to be afraid of."Her fear is justified. Iraq's second-largest city, Basra, is a stronghold of conservative Shia groups. As many as 133 women were killed in Basra last year -- 79 for violation of "Islamic teachings" and 47 for so-called honor killings, according to IRIN, the news branch of the U.N.'s Office for the Coordination of Humani...

READ THE POEM +/- A CHARGE TO KEEPThe Illustrated President"I thought I would share with you a recent bit of Texas history which epitomizes our mission. When you come into my office, please take a look at the beautiful painting of a horseman determinedly charging up what appears to be a steep and rough trail. This is us. What adds complete life to the painting for me is the message of Charles Wesley that we serve One greater than ourselves."[Bush] came to believe that the picture depicted the circuit-riders who spread Methodism across the Alleghenies in the nineteenth century. In other words, the cowboy who looked like Bush was a missionary of his own denomination.Only that is not the title, message, or meaning of the painting. The artist, W.H.D. Koerner, executed it to illustrate a Western short story entitled “The Slipper Tongue,” published in The Saturday Evening Post in 1916. The story is about a smooth-talking horse thief who is caught, and then escapes a lynch mob in the S...
