Fidel Castro Speaks The Truth
2007-07-02 11:01:00
I can't believe I'm about to take the side of a communist jerk-off. If nobody hears from me after this post, the odds are the FBI, CIA, or Secret Service had me whacked. After learning in the "Family Jewels" that Cuba's leader, Fidel Castro , was an unsuccessful assassination, he himself has replied to the Bush administration by declaring the United States is still a "killing machine."Castro wrote the following: ?[President Bush] has constructed powerful and expensive superstructures of intelligence ... that lead to war, injustice, hunger and death everywhere on the planet."As sad and embarrassing as it may be to admit, I agree with Castro. The entire Bush administration is out of control. The only thing Bush has been successful in, besides further dividing our country, is turmoil around the world.Don't believe me? Check out this stuff: According to IraqBodyCount.org, anywhere from 66,807 and 73,120 Iraqi civilians have died because of military intervention in Iraq.According to IC...

A Costly $3.5 Million Border Mistake
2007-06-30 10:45:00
As if it's not bad enough the county I live in wastes money like it grows on trees, we now learn that the United States Border Patrol still can't do anything right. And this most recent error dates back to the 1800s when the fence was originally constructed!Alicia A. Caldwell of the Associated Press writes:"The 1.5-mile barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border was designed to keep cars from illegally crossing into the United States. There's just one problem: It was accidentally built on Mexican soil. Now embarrassed border officials say the mistake could cost the federal government more than $3 million to fix.The barrier was part of more than 15 miles of border fence built in 2000, stretching from the town of Columbus to an onion farm and cattle ranch."The illegal fence crosses into Mexico ranging from 1 to 6 feet. The Mexican Government has requested the fence be removed from their soil.As I do understand the great importance of any border, I still find this amusing. Illegal immigra...

Lehigh Valley Traffic Alert Solutions
2007-06-27 16:43:00
Remember that horrible I-78 Traffic Jam back in February? In efforts to avoid another traffic catastrophe, PennDOT is still trying to find ways to assist drivers in avoiding traffic overall. One method being considered is something called a web site. The bright minds at PennDOT have discovered the wide spread use of this thing called the Internet, and believe that developing a web site would be a great tool in informing motorists of traffic before the drive.Sorry guys, but local news station WFMZ has been using their web site to inform locals of traffic conditions for quite some time now.The other tool being considered is the 511 call-in system. This will cost Pennsylvania about $1 million a year to operate, and won't even be ready until 2009, if approved. And although this service is available in 27 other states already, Pennsylvania is hesitant to adopt the service because of glitches still in the system. But if it's good enough for more than half the country, why isn't it good e...

Rosie O'Donnell Doesn't "Need A Job"
2007-06-26 11:01:00
A lot of talk lately revolving around the entertainment industry is about who will be replacing Bob Barker as host of the "Price Is Right" television game show. Though there is still no word on who the replacement host will be, one thing is for sure: the disgustingly repulsive Rosie O 'Donnell will not be the host!Could you imagine Rosie as the host of "The Price is Right?" Would you want to? Should it be legal to?Barker, for 35 years as host, was such a polite and lovable personality. And Rosie was actually considered as host?According to this article, Rosie turned down the opportunity to be host."Well, here's the thing: I don't really need a job," O'Donnell says in a video posted on her Web site. "I'm in a weird position. I don't need the money. ...So to get my entire family uprooted from their lives and move them across the country so that I can have a fantasy childhood indulgence, you know, job ... it just doesn't seem fair. You know, if they were able to do it in New York...
Lehigh Valley Bloggers Actually Exist
2007-06-14 22:28:00
Let me first start by saying that I could care less about Lisa Boscola, Sam Bennett, Charlie Dent or Bernie Kieklak - they're all douche bags in my opinion and are all equally horrible for our state of Pennsylvania. I'm blogging today to share what I have discovered after reading this article... that people in the Lehigh Valley actually blog!Yes, it's true - I'm not the only one after all!In that article, there was a reference to a local blog called Lehigh Valley Ramblings. From there, I learned that many other local blogs exist. Here are a few of them:Politics: Lehigh Valley Style - A political blog by someone who actually has an opinion.Beyond Scrapple - A blog that educates the Valley on great places to eat, other than fast food. Our West End Neighborhood - A blog about Allentown's West End theatre district.Pissed Off Naked Blogg er - Not updated often, but I love the way he writes!Northern Lehigh Valley Logic - Good, but not frequent, blogging about Lehigh Valley politics.Tho...

Paris Hilton Freed From Jail
2007-06-07 18:11:00
Paris Hilton was released from the Los Angeles County Jail early Thursday morning due to an "undisclosed medical problem." What a load of crap!Because of her release, her sentence is now put back up to 45 days. However, she will be allowed to fulfill the remaining sentence at her home! Let me remind you, she lives in a mansion! She will be monitored by an electronic bracelet. I hope that it's uncomfortable, unfashionable, and leaves a rash!So much for our justice system...For the article, click here.

Door-To-Door Political Soliciting
2007-06-06 17:42:00
I was thinking back to the 2004 Presidential Election between John Kerry and George Bush. People of all ages were very involved in this election, regardless of political knowledge. Even though Bush is still in office, it was great to see so many people involved.I live in a house of mixed political opinions. The home owner is in favor of Bush, and he has every right to be. And since the property is his, a sign was put out on the lawn showing support for Bush. I told you that to tell you this...One day, there were a bunch of Kerry supporters, from New York, parading around our neighborhood - which is very Republican and only has one Democratic owner on the block - trying to persuade people to vote for Kerry. I have to give them credit; it takes some balls knocking on so many doors trying to change people's minds, knowing that rejection is the likely response. The thing that gets me mad is that they were completely unprepared. They offered no facts, no pamphlets, and no argument. They ...

Man Awakes From 19-Year Coma
2007-06-04 10:58:00
This article reminds me of a book I read when I was younger called The Other Side of Dark by Joan Lowery Nixon. It's about a girl who awakes from a 4-year coma to discover her life has changed. In Poland, a man named Jan Grzebska awoke from a 19-year coma. "For 19 years he did not move or say anything," Gertruda Grzebska, Jan's wife, told The Associated Press by phone. "He tried to say things but it couldn't be understood. Sometimes we pretended we understood."In 1988, Grzebski fell into a coma after sustaining head injuries as he was attaching two train carriages. Doctors later found cancer in his brain and said he would not live.Gertruda took her helpless husband home and took care of him herself. Faith was on her side as he finally woke up. "I would fly into a rage every time someone would say that people like him should be euthanized, so they don't suffer," she told local daily Gazeta Dzialdowska. "I believed [Jan] would recover." When Jan fell into his coma, Poland was still...

Memorial Day: Pay Tribute & Get Votes
2007-05-28 16:39:00
It's finally Memo rial Day and we can see what our presidential-futures and currents are up to. Since they use this day as an excuse to boost their political ratings, let's see what they're doing...President Bush is visiting Arlington National Cemetery today. There he will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns. I'm sure he will follow with a speech about how important the Iraqi War is, how we can't cut and run, or how Democrats suck.Barack Obama laid a wreath at a war monument and followed with a speech, which actually included some meaningful content: "This is a day on which we reflect on those who have fallen and reflect on the sacrifices they have made for all of us," Obama said, talking with reporters after the brief ceremony. "This is a great day to think about what we're doing on behalf of our veterans, and what we're not doing on behalf of our veterans."He followed by saying:"There's nobody who doesn't support the troops. This really is a political argument that is...

Slavery Still Exists In The United States
2007-05-24 20:19:00
This is somewhat embarrassing, but I feel I have to post this to make sure people are aware. Slavery still very much exists right here in the United States . Don't believe me? Then check this out...Associated Press writer Frank Eltman writes:A millionaire couple accused of keeping two Indonesian women as slaves in their luxurious Long Island home and abusing them for years have been indicted on federal slavery charges. Varsha Mahender Sabhnani, 35, and her husband, Mahender Murlidhar Sabhnani, 51, operate a worldwide perfume business out of their home, contracting with overseas factories to manufacture the fragrances.Contrary to what many Conservatives may think, slavery does very much still exist. For the entire news article, click here.

National Gas Boycott Day (Photos)
2007-05-15 19:26:00
Today, May 15, 2007, is suppose to be the incredible gas boycott. Nobody today is suppose to fill-up their tanks - not with gas, anyway. I guess this means there are going to be lines at the tanks tomorrow...Let me first start by saying that not buying gas for one day isn't going to change the price. People are just going to fill up the next day, and the day after that. A life-style change is in order to change the price of gas and the amount of usage among Americans. One day isn't going to change anything.Again, today is suppose to be National Gas Boycott Day. However, the numbers being shared and published to promote this boycott don't seem to equal out. To top it off, there aren't any sources for the numbers - none that I can find anyway. In the chain letters and spam going around, it's said that 7 million people not buying gas today would cost the oil tycoons $20 billion. This was based on the average $30 fill-up. Actually, the amount of money that would not be spent would o...

1 Billion People Have High Blood Pressure
2007-05-14 21:21:00
I recently found this article about how nearly 1 billion people worldwide have high blood pressure. Associated Press Medical Writer Lauren Neergaard wrote that a half-billion more people will develop the "silent killer" by the year 2025. This caught my attention since last year I learned that many people around me were at high-risk for diabetes and actually had high blood pressure. When I learned how many of my peers had blood issues, I decided to get some blood tests done secretly at a local hospital. My health insurance, at the time, covered just about all the costs so it wasn't at any inconvenience to me. Thankfully, I'm a very healthy human being. My only fault is that I'm overweight and one day could fall subject to these health problems if I don't start losing the pounds now.About three or four years ago, my blood pressure was high. Since then, I continue to monitor it on a regular basis, being sure to stay within safe range. Hopefully I can continue to stay safe and begin ...

Bush Feeling The Pressure
2007-05-10 19:43:00
It was one thing when President Bush was under attack from the Democrats on the Iraqi War Spending issue. But now he's facing a whole new kind of pressure from within his own party.Associated Press writer Anne Flaherty wrote:"President Bush, under growing political pressure, agreed to negotiate with Congress on a war-spending bill that sets benchmarks for progress in Iraq. "The turnabout in Bush's position came as Republicans expressed anxieties about the war and the House was expected to pass legislation that would cut off funding for U.S. troops as early as July. The new bill being proposed would supply enough money to fund the war through July. Congress would then decide, after that, whether or not it's worth funding the war through September. You'd think that all this arguing would hint the war isn't worth it at all. I guess not.For the news article, which also includes comments from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, click here.

A Pro-Choice Presidential Hopeful
2007-05-09 18:59:00
Screw the war in Iraq. Screw searching for Osama Bin Laden. Screw everything important! Let's just pick our next president based on whether or not he is pro-choice.Presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani is keeping strong on his opinions about abortion. "I hate abortion. I would encourage someone to not take that option," Giuliani said last week during the first GOP presidential debate. "But ultimately, since it is an issue of conscience, I would respect a woman's right to make a different choice."But let's put all this pro-choice crap aside. I'll admit, I don't know if Giuliani would make a good president. I like the work he did in New York, and I especially liked his handling of the terrorist attacks, but is he ready to handle the entire country?I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that we as citizens shouldn't base our entire opinion of someone based on one issue. No matter who we elect, there will be both issues we agree on and disagree on.It's time to start asking Giuli...

Divided We Stand, United We Fall
2007-05-02 21:08:00
This is old news by now, so I'll just speak the details...The House failed Wednesday to override President Bush's veto, only receiving 222 votes. A two-thirds majority was needed to override the veto.Bush had this to say:"I am confident that with goodwill on both sides that we can move beyond political statements and agree on a bill that gives our troops the funds and flexibility to do the job that we asked them to do."Excuse me. We asked? Who the hell is we? It sure as hell isn't me. It sure as hell isn't the majority of congress. It absolutely isn't even close to half of the country. He must mean him and Cheney. Oh, well. The events over this now-rejected bill hasn't even phased the President as The White House is now celebrating the failed override with the arrival of 4,000 U.S. troops in Baghdad. So much for "Unit ed We Stand ."For the article on the failed override, click here. For the article on the troops arriving in Baghdad, click here.

Bush's Way Or No Way
2007-04-30 21:54:00
President Bush said on Monday that he is willing to work with the Democrats on creating a new Iraqi War spending bill. But let's face it - what he really means is 'it's my way or no way.' Bush is still going to veto the recent bill voted for by both the House & Senate, regardless of what his country thinks or wants.Bush claims he wants to create a bill WITH the Democrats, but he makes it very clear that he is only willing to accept a bill that satisfies him and him alone, instead of everyone as a whole. He will only accept a bill that gives funding without any strings attached, meaning no given timetable for a troop withdrawal, and no non-war related spending.I've made it clear that I disagree with a given deadline for troop withdrawal, but I do think that we need to begin pulling our troops out of Iraq. We have long overstayed our non-existing welcome and it's time to start saying good-bye.However, I do hope that the Democrats stay strong on their legislation attempts, deadli...

Military Cover-ups - Tillman & Lynch
2007-04-25 21:54:00
It's not a secret anymore. It's becoming more and more obvious how former football star Pat Tillman actually died. Army Spc. Bryan O'Neal told a House panel that he was ordered by a superior officer not to tell Kevin Tillman, brother of Pat, what had actually happened. O'Neal said it was made clear to him that he would "get in trouble" had he told anyone.Jessica Lynch also spoke to the committee Tuesday.Lynch accused the media and military of altering her story for their own gain."They should have found out the facts before they spread the word like wildfire," Lynch said.A couple years ago, when interviewed by Diane Sawyer, Lynch also said:"They used me to symbolize all this stuff. It's wrong. I don't know why they filmed [my rescue] or why they say these things ...I did not shoot, not a round, nothing. I went down praying to my knees. And that's the last I remember." Though Lynch stated that her case is similar to Tillman's, she still has the advantage of being able to test...

The City Of Brotherly Love
2007-04-24 06:19:00
Philadelphia: The city's name means "brotherly love" in Greek. The city also goes by the self-identifying slogan "The City That Love s You Back." Through crimes and sporting events these two city-proclaimed identities have proven to be anything but true (meaning completely false!)According to the AP, Philadelphia has seen more than one killing a day this year, totaling 127 as of Monday afternoon. Over this past weekend, 11 people were killed.Philadelphia Mayor John Street has obviously failed to cut down on crime. In 2006, 407 city residents were killed, which was a nine-year high. This year, crime is already up 17% compared to last. The latest article released by the AP will definitely get people thinking about what has happened to their beloved city. Maybe during the next election the residents will look for someone other than Street to come to their rescue. For the article, click here.

Bill Clinton: Former President & Future Cheerleader of America
2007-04-22 11:37:00
Hillary Clinton announced Saturday that if elected president she would name husband and former President Bill Clinton an "ambassador" to the world."I can't think of a better cheerleader for America than Bill Clinton, can you?" Clinton asked a crowd jammed into a junior high school gymnasium. "He has said he would do anything I asked him to do. I would put him to work."It was only a matter of time until she used her husbands political skills and experience to benefit herself. But, cheerleader? And what's with that dominatrix attitude? That might work for Nancy Pelosi, but certainly not Hillary!Actually, I don't think I'd mind having Bill Clinton as an ambassador, as long as Hillary isn't the President! For the news article, click here.

Bernard McGuirk, Imus' long-time producer, who has often made unacceptable comments ranging from race, religion and sex, has been fired by WFAN-NY. Finally, McGuirk is being credited with instigating the incident. As I've blogged in the past, McGuirk has gone blind to the public eye in this whole Imus situation. Many people were unaware that McGuirk has made more unacceptable comments than Imus ever could. McGuirk was always the instigator and Imus always took the heat. Finally, McGuirk gets his.As reported by the Associated Press, McGuirk has been "noticeably absent" since the Imus firing. McGuirk has not made any public comments since being taken off the air.For those interested in the news article, click here.

VIDEO: John Stewart Crushes Nancy Grace
2007-04-16 12:33:00
I know this is from last week, but I couldn't resist posting the video.Nancy Grace is such a poor television personality; Her show is horrible with unfounded material. For an entire year, Grace was verbally and emotionally bashing the Duke Lacrosse players. Over this year she has proved not only to be a poor journalist, but generally a bad person overall. Now that those Duke players have been found innocent, has she apologized? Honestly, I don't know. But John Stewart made her pay for it...Also, since we're already on the subject of John Stewart, I found this article that shows in a recent poll, 8% of Americans would definitely vote for Stewart if he was on the Presidential ballot. The poll also shows that more people would vote against Hillary Clinton or Newt Gingrich for President than Stewart himself! For the article, click here.

FEMA Food Goes To Waste
2007-04-13 21:27:00
The headline in today's Washington Post read "Tons of Food Spoiled As FEMA Ran Out Of Storage Space." Can't these guys and gals at FEMA get anything right?About 6 million prepared meals, estimated at costing $40 million, spoiled in the Gulf Coast heat last summer.Washington Post Staff Writer Spencer S. Hsu writes:In all, hundreds of truckloads of food worth more than $40 million are being thrown away or scavenged for unspoiled contents to be offered to domestic hunger-relief groups, FEMA officials said. Most of the meals were commercial versions of the military's Meals Ready to Eat, which were ruined despite being engineered to withstand the demands of desert and jungle climates. This is proof that FEMA is still not being managed correctly. The extra food was stocked because of the failures during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, explained FEMA's deputy director, Coast Guard Vice Adm. Harvey Johnson."Given the pressure to perform . . . we didn't want to run any chance of running out."...

CBS Fires Don Imus

Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey-hey-hey, GOOD-BYE!CBS announced Thursday that they have fired Don Imus from his radio program. Finally, I can stop blogging about this subject - after this post of course.Though I haven't found any articles, releases or announcements, I assume that the firing includes his staff as well (please correct me if I'm wrong.) Hopefully, this includes producer Bernard McGuirk, who I've been blogging about more than Imus. For those unfamaliar with this subject, or haven't read my previous posts, McGuirk is the one who instigated the conversation that got America talking. He also made the first racist/sexist remark.McGuirk has managed to keep his name out of yet another article. How does he manage this? Is Imus taking the fall for his comments, too? I don't know. MSNBC has decided to stop the simulcast of Imus in the Morning, but will continue to broadcast the radio program - for now.Sponsors of the show, which include Sprint Nextel Corp., American Express Co. and General Motors Corp., announced they were pulling their ads from the show for the "indefinite future," reports AP National Writer David Crary. However, looking back at all that has happened, producer Bernard McGuirk still remains blind to the public eye. Let's not forget that he made the first insulting comment...First Comment: "Them some tough girls from Rutgers . Man, they got tattoos..." This comment was made by Don Imus, starting on the subject of the Rutgers Women's Basketball Team. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this comment. It was a basic observation.Second Comment: "Some hardcore hos." This was the first insulting, not to mention sexist and racist, comment made in the conversation. It was made by BERNARD McMGUIRK! Third Comment: "Nappy-headed hos." Obviously, thi...

Feedback Needed On Web Hosting...
2007-04-12 03:29:00
I've been looking into web hosting lately. Within the next six months, I'd like to have a small site up and running. A site where I can keep a portofolio of articles and photographs, along with links to my blogs. So far, the best and cheapest provider I've been able to find is 1-X Web Hosting . The price is cheap and the storage is basic.Another provider I've been looking into is Brinkster. Also good prices and basic storage.I'm not looking to have a website with hundreds of thousands of visitors a day. I'm just looking for something basic. I figure the average storage needed will be 100mb's, so data transfers shouldn't be an issue. If anyone has any opinions on the two providers I mentioned, or would like to suggest a host, please e-mail me or leave a comment below. Any help is appericated!
