Obama Responds to Bush?s Attacks on Foreign Policy
2008-05-17 06:22:00 Senator Barack Obama wasted no time responding to Bush?s attacks on his foreign policy positions. On Thursday, President Bush spoke before the Israeli Parliament and stopped just short of mentioning Obama by name in saying that those who negotiate with terrorists are appeasers. ?Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before,? Bush said. Bush went on to say, ?As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ?Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.? We have an obligation to call this what it is ? the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.? President Bush also does not understand the difference between appeasement and talking to your enemies. As Chris Matthews so aptly pointed out to talk show host Kevi...
McCain Tries Outdated Scare Tactics
2008-05-16 06:47:00 On Thursday, John McCain bought into the standard Republican national security scare tactic. This signals a new low for McCain which lowers the bar further in what was supposed to be a ?respectful campaign? from the ?straight talk express?. ?All I can say is: If Senator Obama wants to sit down across the table from the leader of a country that calls Israel a stinking corpse, and comes to New York and says they're gonna, quote, ?wipe Israel off the map,? what is it that he wants to talk about? What is it that he wants to talk about with him?? If it was John McCain he would likely tell them to cut out the ?B.S.? According to the Huffington Post, McCain said in 2006, "One of the things I would do if I were President would be to sit the Shiites and the Sunnis down and say, 'Stop the b*&ls*i^.'" We all know that this is not the type of foreign policy that McCain would pursue towards Iran . While on the campaign trail McCain was so enthused about the idea of bombing ... Edwards Endorses Obama in Grand Rapids (YouTube)
2008-05-15 04:35:00 Here is the YouTube video of John Edwards endorsement of Barack Obama made on Wednesday night in Grand Rapids, Michigan . Edwards gave an energizing speech that was a tough act for someone even like Barack Obama to follow. Watch the video here:

(Photo from BarackObama.com)In the midst of what has been a contentious Democratic campaign Barack Obama made his first campaign trip to a state that has been in the midst of its own contentious election battle. On Wednesday, Obama gave a rally at Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Obama did not campaign in Michigan before the Michigan primary because he agreed not to in accordance with the Democratic National Committee. Michigan was stripped of their delegates as a consequence of moving their primary before February 5th. Obama told the crowd that he felt guilty about not campaigning in Michigan and wanted his trip back to try and make up for that. In exchange, Obama introduced a heavy hitter in the Democratic Party, John Edwards. As an attendant of the event myself, I was also shocked to see who the surprise guest was. Obama Dominates McCain in Online Support
2008-05-12 06:37:00 John McCain has less than 50,000 MySpace friends, while Clinton and Obama together have more than 565,000 friends, according to techpresident Barack Obama has 824,786 Facebook supporters and John McCain has 125,299. On May 8, Barack Obama had more than 45.4 million views of his YouTube videos compared to 3.4 million for John McCain. Over the past month John McCain?s YouTube viewer-ship has stayed around 3.4 million while Obama?s has gradually increased from 37.7 million to 45.4 million. According to Hitwise, a unit of measuring site traffic for all candidates, Barack Obama gets 44 percent of the hits, Hillary Clinton 43 percent, John McCain 8 percent and Ron Paul 5 percent. The first problem McCain has, is that 87 percent of the campaign website traffic goes to the Democratic candidates. Democrats have been locked in a tight race which would make it hard for McCain to draw attention in the midst of all the chaos that surrounds the Democrats. When you co... More About: Technology

Obama Picks Experienced Strategists, Clinton Picks Loyalists
2008-05-09 06:33:00 Today we learned another important piece to the Mark Penn saga. According to the Huffington Post, Penn believed the Democratic race to be winner take all states just as it is for the Republican Party. Mark Penn was the chief strategist for Senator Clinton in the early stages of the game. Penn was ?confident? in saying that winning California would tip the race to Clinton once she captured the state?s entire 370 delegates. The major flaw to that strategy is the fact that the delegates are apportioned based on percentage of the vote each candidate got in that state. Harold Ickes was appalled at the sheer ignorance of someone in charge of such an important task. The reason Penn had such an important job on the campaign was not because he knew what he was doing, it was because of loyalty. Loyalty is something that Senator Clinton values as part of her team rather than hiring the best possible person for the job. ?How can it possibly be, that the much vaunted ch... Indiana Now ?Too Close To Call? As Gap Narrows
2008-05-07 03:23:00 Early after the polls had closed tonight in Indiana , the race looked like it would go to Senator Clinton but it was too early to call. As more and more precincts have reported their results the race has now become ?too close to call?. What was once a 14 point lead early on in the night has now become a 6 point lead for Senator Clinton. Barack Obama has narrowed the gap by picking up votes in his demographic strongholds. With 69 percent of the precincts reporting in Indiana, MSNBC and other networks have decided that the race is still too close to call. North Carolina was called for Barack Obama shortly after the polls had closed in that state because of the exit polls and early returns showing a wide margin of victory for Obama. Clinton still has some of her own stronghold areas of Indiana that need to be heard from but Obama is still waiting to hear from his strongest areas. We might have to wait the rest of the night to find out how narrow the gap is in In... More About: Hillary Clinton , Polls , Close
Obama Wins North Carolina by Wide Margins, Clinton Leads in Indiana
2008-05-07 02:18:00 Shortly after polls have closed in Indiana and North Carolina , it is clear that Barack Obama has won the North Carolina Democratic primary. Senator Clinton is leading the way in early returns in Indiana by as much as 14 percent. MSNBC is projecting that if Obama gets 57 percent of the vote in North Carolina it will completely negate Clinton?s gains from the Pennsylvania primary at the end of April. On Saturday, Obama was able to pull out a victory in Guam but both candidates came away with the same number of delegates. When looking at the counties that have reported their votes in Indiana, those areas heavily favor Hillary Clinton ?s demographic. However, Clinton?s lead in the vote is large in the early stages and Obama would need to make up large numbers in his areas of the state. Obama is currently trouncing Clinton in North Carolina in early returns and it is a state where Obama can make more delegate gains on Clinton. North Carolina is also not a small stat... Ron Paul Favors Barack Obama on Foreign Policy
2008-05-05 08:32:00 Ron Paul has yet to endorse John McCain for the Republican nomination but over the weekend gave his input on the candidates. Paul was a Republican candidate for president and stayed in the race until John McCain had the number of delegates he needed to seal up the nomination. Paul was asked during debates if he would endorse the Republican candidate no matter who it was. Paul declined to do so on every opportunity. Ron Paul favors Barack Obama ?s foreign policy, ?But that doesn?t mean that?s an endorsement,? Paul quickly added. Obama?s foreign policy of opening relations with countries that the Bush administration has been ?punishing? by cutting ties with is a large aspect of Obama?s popularity. Obama wants to end the war in Iraq and bring our troops home. Obama was also against the war in Iraq before it started. Obama favors opening talks with Iran to exhaust all diplomatic solutions to their desire to gain nuclear weapons. McCain has suggested tha... More About: President Bush , Ron Paul
Wright Back in the News, But What About McCain and Pastor Hagee?
2008-05-01 08:44:00 Jeremiah Wright , Barack Obama?s pastor is sparking controversy yet again with his speeches. Obama spoke again on Tuesday to denounce the recent comments he has made and Obama has made it clear that he does not agree with the positions that Wright has taken. Wright spoke before the National Press Club on Monday in an effort to defend himself after Obama denounced the first remarks that were made famous on the internet and cable news networks. Comments that were made by Wright at the National Press Club forced Obama to take an even more aggressive stance in his opposition to the extreme comments made by the pastor. The Wright controversy has captivated the 24 hour cable news channels and other media news outlets. The media has not slowed down their coverage of the controversy since Obama denounced the recent comments. Senator Kerry told MSNBC during an interview to ?let go of this?. ?Can I say something to you? Obviously it is painful and he said it. You fol... More About: News , In the News , The News , Back

Obama Defends His Up Bringing and His Bowling Record
2008-04-28 08:08:00 Barack Obama came under harsh criticism for his comments about small town Pennsylvanians and many labeled him as an elitist.. While taking questions at a press conference over the weekend, Barack Obama made fun of the media’s coverage of himself. A reporter asked him about his growing “image problem” among some voters and pundits. The reporter referred to Obama’s image as the GQ cover man, someone who is “aloof”, or someone who cannot relate to working class folks. Obama referenced his wardrobe both, past and present, to show that he is not this “GQ” man that some believe he is. Obama said that when he met his wife Michelle he had only one suit. Obama went on to explain that he tends to buy 5 suits to wear at a time and patches them up because he wears them repeatedly. When it comes to haircuts he does get them more often now and it is at his mother-in-law’s request. Obama also took time to explain his bowling skills. “I know that there... When Will it End…? Are Some Democrats Getting Tired and Bitter?
2008-04-25 08:03:00 Democrats in Iowa first started caucusing on January 3rd and after nearly 5 months of elections the race is still not over. How many times have we heard pundits argue that the race would be over after super Tuesday, mini-super Tuesday, or Pennsylvania? Barack Obama spoke in Springfield, Illinois on February 10, 2007 to officially announce his candidacy for president. Hillary Clinton gave her living room “I’m in” speech on January 22, 2007. Nearly a year and a half after this race began, Democrats are becoming agitated and worried. Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer and told the remaining undecided superdelegates to make up their mind “starting now”. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are working hard to prevent what would easily be described as a meltdown in the works. Clinton Needs Massive Victory Tuesday, Narrow Victory is a Loss
2008-04-22 08:50:00 After 7 weeks of campaigning in Pennsylvania , and more than one year after the race for president began, Tuesday might bring us closer to knowing the Democratic nominee. Before the real hard fought campaigning began in Pennsylvania, Senator Clinton had a 20 point lead over Barack Obama . On Monday a list of new polls was released giving Clinton a range of only 3 to 8 points in her lead over Obama. Obama has been able to cut into Clinton?s lead by focusing on the blue-collar voters of Pennsylvania and working hard to relate to the working class in that state. Obama?s campaign in Pennsylvania reached out to this voting demographic in ways that he did not do in other states. Senator Clinton has also been hurt by the Bosnia sniper story which has further damaged her image as an honest and trustworthy leader. Obama has also faced his own problems while campaigning for the crucial state. While giving a speech in San Francisco, comments he made about small town Pennsy... Howard Dean to Superdelegates: Make Up Your Mind Now
2008-04-18 07:24:00 Howard Dean spoke with Wolf Blitzer of CNN on Thursday and repeated his call for the remaining undecided superdelegates to make up their mind, starting now. Dean has stated before that he would like the race to be determined before July 1st which would give the nominee nearly two months to prepare for the convention. Dean said there are 35 percent of the remaining superdelegates who have yet to make a decision. ?There?s about 65 percent, roughly, percent of the superdelegates who voted, there?s about 320 some odd left to vote. I need them to say who they are for, starting now. They really do need to do that,? Dean said. Dean explained that the last primary date is on June 3rd and that there is no reason for the Democrats to give up 2 or 3 months of active campaigning due to indecisive superdelegates. Dean did not mince words when it came to making a decision if you are a superdelegate. Dean wants decisions to be made now or at least by June 3rd when the p... Pennsylvania Debate Focuses Little on the Issues
2008-04-17 07:27:00 Wednesday night?s debate in Pennsylvania featured questions about some of the most controversial statements and potentially damaging campaign supporters. Clinton tried to explain the difference between being received in Bosnia with sniper fire and being welcomed by a crowd featuring a small child with flowers in hand. Senator Clinton admitted that she lied when it came to Bosnia and asked voters to try and ?look over? the issue. ?I may be a lot of things, but I?m not dumb. On a couple of occasions in the last weeks, I just said some things that were not in keeping with what I knew to be the case.? ?I?m embarrassed by it. I apologized for it. I said it was a mistake,? she added. I wonder if she realizes that in that statement she said that she?s not dumb, she just knowingly lied about some things. One thing she obviously has not learned is that in the modern age we can find video of almost anything. As first lady your trips are well documented and there are going to be c... Clinton Booed for Comments on Obama?s ?Bitter? Remark
2008-04-15 06:36:00 During a political speech in San Francisco Barack Obama made a so called ?gaffe? which led to many calling him an elitist. Obama said small town Pennsylvanians that have lost their jobs may "get bitter [and] cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.?Pundits and political opponents were quick to interpret these comments as sounding elitist by calling small town people ?radicals? or ?crazy gun toting racists?.Clinton and McCain both called Obama an ?elitist?. Over the weekend the media also spent a lot of their time discussing whether or not his comments made him ?elitist?.?[Clinton and McCain]Both of whom have spent decades in Washington saying I?m out of touch, it is time to cut through the rhetoric and look at the reality,? Daily Show Documentary on ?Fair and Balanced News Channel?
2008-04-12 09:05:00 You may have thought over the past 7 years that the Fox News channel was an extension of the Bush administration. According to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart , Fox News has now been around for 12 wonderful years. On Thursday night John Oliver of The Daily Show began a two part documentary on the Fox News channel showing just how ?fair and balanced? they actually have been. The parts of the piece only total about 10 minutes but it is all that is needed to show the different types of coverage that is given to two different administrations. When it came to executive privilege, journalists for Fox News wanted it limited during the Clinton administration and expanded during the Bush administration. Clinton?s matter was a personal and sexual matter, yet the journalists at Fox News felt that Clinton should have to testify by order of Republicans in congress. Bill O?Reilly for example, was outraged when Democrats wanted Bush?s advisors to testify before congress ove... More About: Barack Obama , Documentary
Clinton Fights to Reduce Expectations as Polls Tighten in PA
2008-04-10 06:29:00 Barack Obama has been slowly gaining ground on Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania and the Clinton campaign on Wednesday worked aggressively to reduce expectations in the state. Senator Clinton previously held what was thought to be an insurmountable lead in Pennsylvania and it has shrunk down to a near tie. There have been nine polls conducted since the beginning of April and the Real Clear Politics average shows Senator Clinton still has a 7.9 percent lead. An American Research Group poll, however, found there to be a statistical tie between Obama and Clinton. Another poll conducted by Public Policy Polling (PPP) showed Obama had a 2 point edge over Clinton in Pennsylvania. Clinton previously held double-digit leads over Obama in Pennsylvania, which is why they are working so hard to reduce expectations. ?The fact that we still maintain a lead after Sen. Obama spent six days here and got the backing of Sen. Casey (D-Penn.), and in light of being outspent,... More About: Fights , Polls , Reduce , Expectations
Obama Talks VP Criteria
2008-04-08 07:49:00 Photo by Steve Boxbe Flickr Barack Obama talked with the Huffington Post on Monday about what he would like in a Vice Presidential running mate. What others see as his weaknesses, Obama feels are his greatest strengths. ?I would like somebody who knows about a bunch of stuff that I'm not an expert on,? Obama said. Most critics would see Obama?s weaknesses being security issues and foreign policy. ?I think a lot of people assume that might be some sort of military thing to make me look more Commander-in-Chief-like. Ironically, this is an area--foreign policy is the area where I am probably most confident that I know more and understand the world better than Senator Clinton or Senator McCain,? Obama said. Obama explained that when Clinton talks about visiting 80 countries you do not see the important parts of the country. Obama talked about how he has taken those same trips and that he did not learn what you need to about those countries. ?You do that in eight... Obama raises $40 Million in March
2008-04-04 08:45:00 Obama smiles back in January at an event at Gallaudet University in Washington DC. Obama has reason to smile again after raising more than $40M dollars in March . (Photo by SEIU: SEUI Flickr) Barack Obama?s campaign announced on Thursday that he had raised over $40 million dollars during the month of March. 218,000 donors gave for the first time during March raising his total to 1.3 million people who have given money to his campaign. Senator Clinton announced that she raised more than $20 million dollars during March. Clinton?s number is large in itself but yet only half as much as Obama was able to raise during the same time period. Clinton?s March total was the second best of her campaign and Obama?s $40 million was also one of his best months. In February Obama was able to raise $55 million, while Clinton was able to raise $35 million dollars. Obama has shown that he has a major advantage over Clinton in fundraising throughout most of the campaign. As m... More About: Hillary Clinton , Obama , Million
Murtha Denies Obama Credit for Iraq Speech, Praises Reagan Administration
2008-04-04 07:48:00 The man who was made famous by his post invasion opposition to the war in Iraq is brushing off Obama?s pre-invasion anti-war stance. John Murtha (D-Pennsylvania) became popular after he spoke out against the war after he was given the gift of hindsight. "Obama had a nice view from the outside. It is easy when you are outside to make a statement like that. When you are inside, you have a responsibility to try and work this thing out. I don't know that [his speech] had an impact. I didn't even know about the speech. A lot of people said a lot of things," Murtha said. Murtha has endorsed Senator Clinton which came as a surprise to many. There were many pundits and experts that thought Obama?s stance on the war before the invasion would be a big factor in deciding who to endorse. Based on Murtha?s statement about Obama?s speech he is trying to shoulder off his responsibility for his vote by saying inside the beltway politicians had more reasons to go into Iraq. ... New Poll Gives Obama Edge in Pennsylvania
2008-04-03 06:42:00 Call him the comeback kid. According to a new poll done by Public Policy Poll ing (PPP), Obama now has a slight lead over Clinton in Pennsylvania . The poll showed Obama had 45 percent and Clinton had 43 percent support. A poll also done by PPP between March 15 and March 16 showed Clinton leading 56 percent to 30 percent. According to this PPP poll Clinton had a 26 percent lead just two weeks earlier. Obama still has a long way to go before he can claim any kind of victory in Pennsylvania. Certainly the kind of comeback he has had in the polls can be seen as a victory for the Obama campaign at this point in Pennsylvania. Barack Obama began lowering expectations in Pennsylvania as soon as he started campaigning there. Obama acknowledged that a 10 point loss to Clinton in the state would be entirely possible. Senator Clinton is counting heavily on Pennsylvania where she expected/expects to do well. Some say that a Clinton victory of 59 percent of the vote wou... More About: Hillary Clinton
Obama Attacks McCain on Iraq; McCain Attacks Obama on Experience
2008-04-01 06:06:00 McCain borrowed page one from the Clinton playbook by going after Obama on his level of experience. McCain was able to observe the high rate of success that Senator Clinton had when she attacked Obama on experience and thought he would try it. McCain said that Obama, ?hasn't read or doesn't understand the history of this country,? McCain went on to say, ?In all due respect, he displays a fundamental misunderstanding of history, of how we maintain national security and what we need to do in the future to maintain our security. But I understand it because he has no experience or background in any of it.? Obama is apparently not learned enough to understand the fine principles of preemptive war under faulty intelligence. Clinton?s Run May Come Down to Money
2008-03-31 06:46:00 The past week the battle of words between Democratic Party members over the status of the presidential nomination has greatly intensified. Surrogates from both Clinton ?s campaign and Obama?s campaign have fueled arguments over whether or not Senator Clinton should step aside. On Friday, Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) and Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Connecticut) both called for Senator Clinton to rethink her chances of being able to win the nomination. Leahy told reporters that Clinton, ?has every right, but not a very good reason, to remain a candidate for as long as she wants to.? Leahy and Dodd are both Obama supporters and Obama was quick to deny having any part in their statements. Senator Clinton responded quickly by saying that she was in this race for the long haul. Clinton told aides that she would not be ?bullied out? of the race. For comments on whether or not Hillary should step aside we go to her most vocal supporter. Former Presiden... More About: Money
Obama Girl and McCain Girls
2008-03-27 07:26:00 Obama girl is back. This time she is asking Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to stop attacking her crush, Barack Obama . McCain has his own third party fans making videos for him starring three ?McCain girls?. The McCain girls take the song ?It?s Raining Men? and turn it into ?It?s Raining McCain?. The video shows the vast differences between the two in their video making talents. The Obama girl videos feature an actress lip-syncing the words to the song. The McCain girls video makes it quite obvious that they are not lip-syncing. The oldest of the McCain girls was not informed that she should not wear green clothing in front of a green screen. McCain?s face flies around the screen and cut outs of the senator are used to simulate water. One of the girls even washes her face with the tiny McCain?s. Sinbad Debunks Clinton Sniper Story
2008-03-26 07:03:00 Senator Clinton ducks from sniper fire behind a small child at Bosnian airstrip. The last time I saw Sinbad in a movie it was while flipping through Saturday afternoon television. His starring role was a secret service agent responsible for guarding the president?s son. The comedian has re-emerged in a new role as a Barack Obama supporter. Why is this important? Sinbad has some information that may help to debunk a statement told by Senator Clinton about their trip to Bosnia. In 1996, Hillary Clinton , Chelsea Clinton, Sinbad, and others made a trip to Bosnia on behalf of the United States. Earlier this week Senator Clinton recalled her trip to Bosnia by saying, ?There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.? Look Who?s ?Ducking? Now
2008-03-25 04:38:00 Hillary Clinton railed Barack Obama for not agreeing to a debate in Wisconsin. Guess who has not yet agreed to a April 19th debate in North Carolina ? Senator Clinton. Barack Obama has accepted both invitations to the April 16th debate in Pennsylvania and the April 19th debate in North Carolina. Senator Clinton ran two television spots in Wisconsin accusing Obama of not wanting to debate the issues with her in that state. Clinton at that time was desperate to get on the stage and debate Obama because she believed she had an advantage in that setting. Obama has stepped up his game when it comes to debates. In Texas and Ohio , Obama was relaxed, cool, and articulate. Obama showed in the last two debates that Hillary?s debating advantage had disappeared. Obama?s confidence as a debater may very well be the reason that he has agreed to debate and she has not. Obama and his campaign feel that a debate will not do any damage to him and may help him. Richardson Endorses Obama: Clinton Camp Gets Jealous
More articles from this author:2008-03-22 04:12:00 On Friday, Barack Obama received a huge boost with Bill Richardson endorsing his campaign. Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico was a former Democratic presidential candidate and the nation?s only Hispanic governor. Richardson withdrew from the presidential race in January and his endorsement has been highly sought after since then. Former President Bill Clinton spent time watching the Super Bowl with Bill Richardson at his residence in Santa Fe. Obama finished off this week strong. Obama?s speech on race was extremely successful in polling data, showing he will come out of this bad situation looking like a strong leader. Michigan and Florida are not going to hold redo elections. This is good for Obama and leaves Senator Clinton basically no chance of winning the nomination. The endorsement from Bill Richardson caps off a rough but overall successful week for Obama. On ?Countdown? with Keith Olbermann, Bill Richardson said he waited until now to ma...
