Kansas City Obama Headquarters: Exist or Not?
2007-06-12 16:54:00
I need some major consultation folks...does the Kansas City Obama Headquarters exist or not???In Mid-May, the official Kansas City kick-off was conducted which resulted in HUGE numbers coming out to support Sen. Barack Obama.  Many people assumed this also meant that an official campaign headquarters would be revealed and details of how anybody/everybody can participate would be declared. As ESPN's Lee Corso would say, "not so fast my friend!"While I may be entirely innacurate, to date no official details have been presented regarding an official Kansas City Barack Obama headquarters location, leadership and coordinators, goals or efforts, fundraising activities or future events to the Show-Me State or Sunflower State of Kansas.I do not want to receive any emails suggesting that I am being impatient and/or insensitive to the Obama campaign, particularly around the Kansas City area...but representing my readers at this blog, we do need to know some concrete facts regarding who e...

Washington Post: Sen. Hillary Clinton Maintains Lead Due to Women
2007-06-12 16:31:00
Today's Washington Post attributes Sen. Hillary Clinton 's ongoing lead in her quest to gain the Democratic nomination due to a single demographic: women supporters.Presently, Sen. Barack Obama trails Sen. Clinton by a 15-point margin.  Women voters currently support Sen. Clinton by a 2-1 ratio over Sen. Obama.  Clinton is drawing especially strong support from lower-income, lesser-educated women -- voters her campaign strategists describe as "women with needs." Obama, by contrast, is faring better among highly educated women, who his campaign says are interested in elevating the political discourse. It will be very interesting what the Obama campaign dues to attract women voters into their camp.  I don't believe that Sen. Clinton ever took the women voting bloc for granted, but I also haven't seen her aggressively campaign for their "rights" and/or "views."  This is one more reason why Sen. Obama needs to immediately enter the communities o...

Idaho Letter to the Editor Regarding Sen. Barack Obama
2007-06-11 23:09:00
Quite an interesting and ignorant letter to the editor.  I'm surprised the editor allowed it to be published considering several inconsistencies.Obama 's pastBarack Hussein Obama takes great pains to conceal the fact he is still a Muslim, and that his stepfather educated him as a good Muslim by enrolling him in one of Jakarta's Wahabbi schools. Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the industrialized world. Obama joined the United Church of Christ because he knows it is politically expedient to do all he can to purge any notion that he is still a Muslim. Barack Hussein Obama was just one of the 34 U.S. senators who voted against making English the official language of America. It is also public record that Sens. Obama and John McCain, R-Ariz., were two of the 33 senators who voted to give illegal aliens Social Security benefits. The entire population of the United States needs to know this information. Do you want someone...

"Walk for Change" Around Kansas City
2007-06-11 16:50:00
Saturday, June 9th was the big "Walk for Change " organized by the Sen. Barack Obama campaign team to get supporters walking door-to-door to spread some Obama love.  Canvassing can be a great tool to get some personal "face-time" with voters and be available to answer questions regarding a candidate.I live in the Kansas City Northland, near Zona Rosa and the Kansas City International airport, but did not see any canvassers around the Kansas City pockets that I visited that day.So this post is for any Kansas City Obama supporters that participated in the "Walk for Change" activities around KC.  If you took part in the day's activities, please post your experiences for others to read around Kansas City and the rest of the country.Jim Kansas City for Obama.com
Sen. Barack Obama Seeks Advice from Colin Powell
2007-06-11 16:46:00
The New York Times reports that former Secretary of State Colin Powell was sought by Sen. Barack Obama for advice on foreign policy matters. But don't get all excited, assuming that Powell was being recruited for political office of any sort.  Powell is simply not interested. ?I would not rule it out,? he said. ?I am not at all interested in political life, if you mean elected political life. That is unchanged. But I always keep my eyes open and my ears open to requests for service.? Hey, I always believe surround youself around people equally, or smarter, than myself.  A positive relationship with a successful and intelligent many like Powell can never hurt Sen. Obama.

Sen. Barack Obama--A Fundraising Machine
2007-06-07 16:36:00
Sen. Barack Obama is not solely known for his polish and poise when addressing mass crowds on the campaign trail.  He's a proven fundraising machine, who managed to raise a whopping $25 million in the very first three months of the campaign.  That number fell just $1 million short of the frontrunner Sen. Hillary Clinton, who was already serving several years in office as a U.S. Senator from New York.June 30 marks another fundraising period that will come to a close.  Many political analysts are stating that Sen. Obama will have raised campaign contributions at a record number. James Carville, a Clinton supporter, set a high bar for Obama during an appearance Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "I think, when the second-quarter fundraising number comes out, it's going -- Obama's number's going to shock people," Carville said. "It's going to be something that we've never seen before in American politics, if what I'm told by ... all sides is true."The...

I try to never copy-and-paste a person's full work and so I must pass along the web address to access an opinion that I was quite pleased with, written by fellow Sen. Barack Obama supporter from "Dallas Obama," Joe Rowe.http://obamadallas.com/Will%20we%20t urn%20away.htmRowe and I belong to the same listserv and he provided a copy of his opinion, which I gladly and graciously credit.  The following opinion is in direct response to Sen. Google Trends: Sen. Barack Obama
2007-06-07 05:41:00
As we all know, Google will soon be running every single facet of our personal lives.  (This is supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek statement, and yet, who really even knows?!!?)  But, I'm sure Google does have a trend factor that can be of political importance to many, including campaign strategists. You can check out how Google is treating Sen. Barack Obama .  According to Google Trends , Sen. Obama is quite popular in Elmhurst and Chicago, IL (both my hometown stomping grounds) and the nation's capitol.  Of particular interest is that after English speakers, Indonesian and Norwegian language speakers are the second and third most popular searchers typing in "Barack Obama" on their Google search.Either way, check it out if you find the statistics interesting.
Sen. Barack Obama Addresses "Quiet Riot" in Impoverished Neighborhoods
2007-06-07 03:36:00
Yesterday, Sen. Barack Obama spoke at Hampton University opening up quite candidly about racial issues in the United States.  This is the very first time he has spoke so openly about race and stratification. As an "inner-city" public school teacher in the Kansas City, KS school district, I do see firsthand young teenagers that do not feel hope.  I talk with teenagers who have no desire to succeed.  I talk with teenagers who believe they have no opportunity to succeed.  I can promise you, this isn't rhetoric and hyperbole.  This is the hard, raw reality of many of our nation's youth.  I work with very dedicated teachers, who wish for all students to succeed.  Does the job become overwhelming at times, absolutely.  Can't deny that.  But the frustrations felt by most teachers isn't that we don't like our teaching jobs, but that our clients, the students, don't even know what to do with the knowledge we are teaching them.So many of my ...

Sen. Barack Obama Attends Rainbow PUSH Convention
2007-06-05 14:35:00
Sen. Barack Obama spent part of his Monday attending the Rev. Jesse Jackson-led Rainbow PUSH convention, in ironically perhaps the "whitest" city in Illinois, Rosemont.  (OK, probably not a fair assessment, but having grown up not even 3 minutes from Rosemont, it's not all that far-fetched.)Gov. Bill Richardson didn't wait long to take his "I'm-jealous-of-all-Obama's-attention" stance into full throttle. "This race should not be determined by who is the bigger rock star or celebrity now and I'm working on that right now," Richardson said. "I submit to you that the next President should not be somebody who would need on the job training." Obama did not take the bait as he said his resume is obviously good enough to make him a democratic frontrunner. "You're not going to draw me into this argument," Obama said. "I'm glad that I'm attracting a lot of attention because that means we're doing pretty well."Sen. Obama faced another strong critic as well, Congressman Denni...

Democratic Candidates on Religion and Prayer
2007-06-05 14:28:00
George Washington University was the site of a very unusual forum, "Faith and Politics," where candidates were busy discussing the role of religion and faith in the personal lives of political candidates.  And no, it wasn't the assumed-Republican candidates opening up, but the top three Democratic candidates. All three candidates--Sen. Barack Obama, Sen. Hillary Clinton and John Edwards--shared very candid responses to several questions regarding their personal views of religion.  Honestly, it was very interesting.  Many people assume that any politician that is going to speak of religion in the public sector clearly must be identified with the "religious-right."  Yesterday proved that even Democratic candidates actually do have "morals" and "faith."  Imagine that. One response I found to be quite interesting, and perhaps even damaging, was a response John Edwards fielded regarding same-sex marriage. ?No. Not personally, you?re asking me personally,?...

Limited Post-Debate Coverage

It is my fault that I missed last night's Democratic primary debate.  But how I could I dare change the channel with "The Sopranos" airing its second-to-last EVER episode?!!?  Plus, I assumed I would just catch-up on the morning cable news shows...what else does CNN have to cover today?Yeah, well...here I am more than a full hour since my quest for coverage began and I'm finding nothing.  I'm very disappointed that CNN airs a two-hour primary debate and then provides less than a minute of soundbytes to cover.  This either means I didn't miss much because the primary debate was uneventful or I just learned a valuable lesson--tune in to the live debate or DVR it.Either way, I assume others had other plans this weekend and were unable to tune in to the primary debate.  You can even admit you were also watching "The Sopranos."  It's ok.As soon as I find recap details to report and share, consider it done.  Until then, I'll have to assume Sen. Successful small business owners, Amy and Lane provide vital Internet services to their rural Iowa community.
