The Clinton Campaign Strategy
2008-03-12 07:01:00 Thank you Californiahefty for the following listserv: "If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can not harm us." & nbsp; ---An African proverb A possible Clinton strategy just came into focus after Ferraro's comments. On the surface her comments were racist and ignorant. Ferraro acknowledged that she was trying to drag Obama's campaign down. What if that's just what's on the surface? What if Ferraro is trying to help the Clintons drag the entire Democratic party down? Or seriously damage or divide the party before the November election? What if the Clinton camp thinks Hillary can't win the nomination so they want Obama to lose in November? If you think what I'm asking is absurd, you don't know hardball Washington politics. It also means you have not been adding all the Clinton dirty tricks together.&n... More About: Strategy , Campaign
Did Sen. Barack Obama Win Mississippi Because of Race?
2008-03-12 06:57:00 From my trusty and informative listserv: The MSM keeps pointing out that the Democratic party in MS divided along racial lines when voting yesterday. Obama was already expected to win the state because of the state's racial make-up. However, there are a few key points that need to be brought up: 1) It has been reported that black voters makes up 50% of the democratic voting block in MS. 2) Obama won 61% of the vote Had Obama only won the state 50-55%, it would be fair to say that Obama won the state because of the demographics, but Obama won the state by more than 60%. This speaks to the message of Hope and Change that Obama is spreading across the country. People of all races and ethnicities are voting for Barack Obama because of what he stands for and what he will enable us to do for our country. More About: Mississippi , Race

2008-02-14 08:01:00 I didn't know this - something to keep in mind: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/14/us/poli tics/14delegates.html Obama 's Lead in Delegates Shifts Focus of Campaign By Adam Nagourney Published: February 14, 2008 In Texas , Mr. Penn said Mrs. Clinton would be helped by the Latino vote -- which he said could ultimately be as much as 40 percent of the electorate. But Mrs. Clinton faces another problem there in the form of that state's unusual delegation allocation rules. Delegates are allocated to state senatorial districts based on Democratic voter turn-out in the last election. Bruce Buchanan, a professor of political science at the University of Texas at Austin, noted that in the last election, turnout was low in predominantly Hispanic districts and unusually high in urban African-American districts. That means more delegates will be available in districts that, based on the results so far, could be expected to go heavily for Mr. Obama. Mrs. Clinton, Dr. Buchanan said, "has got her ... Is Sen. Hillary Clinton Done in this Election?
2008-02-14 07:57:00 There was a lot of talk this morning on "Fox and Friends" regarding how this election is virtually over for Sen. Hillary Clinton . Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know it's way too early also! But, unless Sen. Barack Obama loses steam and breaks this win-streak of consecutive wins over Sen. Clinton, it just may be inevitable. Sen. Clinton will have the states of Ohio and Texas to keep her in the race, but will take a mammoth effort to now trump Sen. Obama.Frankly, I think it's foolish to call this primary election and say either candidate doesn't have an opportunity. So long as Fox News feels the need to tinker with the idea though, I may as well blog on it. Sounds good to me to call the primary election...go Obama! More About: Election
