Just Another Day of no terror
2007-07-03 22:16:00
With a tip of the turban to Angel at Woman Honor Thyself: The new UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown in a BBC TV interview on Sunday did not feel it necessary to mention the word "Muslim" or "Islam" even once in regard to recent events in London and Glasgow and has even instructed his team – including new Home Secretary Jacqui Smith – that the phrase “war on terror” is to be dropped. So here is just another average day, with no "War on Terror " going on, nothing to say about "Muslims" or "Islam": WRAL.com3 Jul 2007,Yemen: We were warned of al-Qaida attack Yemeni security officials were warned about a possible al-Qaida attack, but said Tuesday they did not think it would include the suicide bombing that killed a group of Spanish tourists visiting a remote temple. A regional official blamed the terrorist group for Monday's attack, which killed seven Spaniards and two Yemenis at the temple linked to the ancient Queen of Sheba. Governor Arief al-Zoka said the "security appara...

John Smeaton - a Hero for our times
2007-07-03 17:54:00
At a time when it's so easy to say, "it's not my problem" or ignore cries for help, it is inspiring to read stories like this (Click on Photo for CNN interview of John Smeaton): BBC News, Baggage handler becomes web hero An airport worker who tackled the suspected Glasgow Airport bombers has become an overnight Internet phenomenon thanks to a tribute website. John Smeaton told the BBC how he had raced to help a police officer restrain the suspects after they crashed a burning Jeep into the terminal. Just two days after the attack, a website has been set up in honour of baggage handler Mr Smeaton's heroism. The site urged visitors to 'pledge a pint' to Mr Smeaton as a reward. In an interview with the BBC immediately after Saturday's attack, Mr Smeaton, from Erskine, Renfrewshire, described how he had seen the two terror suspects getting out of the burning vehicle and attacking a lone policeman who attempted to subdue them. The interview, which was broadcast around the ...

The Price of Virginity
2007-07-02 23:47:00
Well it happened again: MaltaStar.com, Virginity For Sale - Offers start at £10,000 Baby-faced Carys Copestake, 18, has offered her virginity for the price of £10,000 to help her pay for university tuitions. The British 18 year old used a false name to advertise herself on a website popular with prostitutes, with her parents having no idea of the bizarre way of getting cash for university. The ad reads: "Virginity For Sale £10,000," she adds: "Hey, I think the title says it all. I'm an 18-year-old virgin with student funds to pay and I'm looking to sell my first time right here. I'm brunette, 34C, green eyes, all in proportion and good looking." Two years ago, there was a similar story: BBC26 Jan 2004,Student sells virginity on webA university student is planning to pay for her degree course by selling her virginity on the Internet. Rosie Reid, 18, from London, decided to auction her virginity on the auction site eBay in order to avoid graduating with huge debts. The ...

Why no one other than the US has ever used nuclear weapons
2007-07-02 21:01:00
offensive or not?Photo Credit: sodabug. Before I give you an example of the average DIGG user's ignorance, let me first give you the story he is commenting on: FT.com1 Jul 2007,Europeans see US as threat to peaceEuropeans consistently regard the US as the biggest threat to world stability, a new poll reveals on Monday. A survey carried out in June by Harris Research for the Financial Times shows that 32 per cent of respondents in five European countries regard the US as a bigger threat than any other state. In the US itself, North Korea and Iran are seen as the biggest risks. However, the youngest US respondents share the Europeans’ view that theirs is the biggest threat, with 35 per cent of American 16- to 24-year-olds identifying it as the chief danger to stability. Since the above article bashes the US, it obviously has made it to the front page of DIGG Well, now we know what percentage of leftist idiots there are in Europe and the US. Here are some typical DIGGER...

Not Enough Hysteria over Car Bombs
2007-07-01 21:39:00
More useful idiots pointing out that the recent car bomb attempts in London and Glasgow Airport couldn't harm anyone and so we should simply ignore them, treat the news the same as "Farmer Brown's sheep wanders onto highway causing fender bender." Prison Planet, Ex-CIA Man Exposes Hysteria Of Car "Bomb" TerrorCountering the frothing rabid hysteria that is being whipped up by a fervent media in response to three failed car "bomb" attacks in the last few days in the UK, ex-CIA agent Larry Johnson joined Keith Olbermann to underscore the truth behind the madness - that the so-called bombs were primitive at best and would not have killed anybody. I left this comment on the article: Terrorists learn by trial and error. When they figure out how to do it better, you'll be singing a different tune. Also, I don't care that more people die from heart-attacks than die crossing the street - does that mean I shouldn't look both ways before crossing? When one person dies from e-coli on ...

The Brits are not negotiating with bombers
2007-07-01 02:14:00
Car burns on Saturday after it hit a section ofGlasgow Airport. Photo: Alistair Robertson/Press Association (AP)In my previous post I wrote that New UK PM Brown is an Idiot for vowing that under him the UK's foreign policy will recognize that defeating terrorism "involves more than military force." Here is a useful idiot who announced to the world that Blair's policy in Iraq was wrong and that he would take a more conciliatory approach. How did the local terrorists greet Brown's new policy? Click on the photo for the full story. So much for appeasement. When will stupid Britains ever learn? One or two more explosions and it won't be long before we hear Brown recant and announce that from now on "The Brits are not negotiating with bombers." One may wonder what these Islamic thugs expect to achieve with these tactics. After all, almost 4,000 Britains die in road accidents every year and it hasn't changed their driving habits, so what do they expect will happen if ...

Derailing Immigration
2007-06-30 01:41:00
phobiaOriginally uploaded by planck's constant. So the Senate rejected the White House's immigration bill. I am not surprised. We need to do only one thing in an immigration bill: secure the border. As long as we continue to fool around with worthless debate about a path to citizenship or the process for a guest-worker program or workplace enforcement we will never get anywhere. This is one subject in which the details are killing us. It seems that if a single Senator doesn't like one feature from among the thousands of details in the bill then the whole shmegege deal gets derailed. Among other things, I own a jewelry store. Before I call my insurance company and ask for coverage, before I hire employees, before I open the door for business, before I do anything at all, I secure my jewelry. I use T-30 Safes that take more than 30 hours to open with a thermal lance, I have motion detectors installed underneath them, I have radio alarms (so no wires to cut) that call the po...
