Climate Change:Globalist Hot Air? Part III - Conclusion
2007-02-16 22:11:01
The IPCC cannot have it both ways. Why is a drop of less than 1º C insignificant if it lasts 400 years, but an increase of less than 1º that took 100 years significant? Biased research, that's why...

No Competence, No Confidence
2007-02-16 22:11:01
The 2006 mid-term election was not a statement about the job that either party has done representing the will of the people. It wasn't about who will keep us safer, or which party's strategy is the key to solving the problem of Iraq. It wasn't an expression of hope and it wasn't the order to retreat. It was an exercise in futility by the American electorate, and a clear indication that they ended up -once again- choosing a candidate based on the belief that they couldn't possibly do any worse than the incumbent.

When Words Became Weapons
2007-02-16 22:11:01
If we can't even agree that "undocumented" means illegal, or that one who boards a bus full of civilians and blows it to smithereens is a terrorist, and not a "martyr" or "resistance fighter"; If we can't reach a common understanding of the terms of the debate, how can we ever have an honest debate?

The Democratic Party's only strategy for Iraq is this absurd notion of "phased redeployment". Don't be fooled by Democratic speaking in tongues. The only "redeployment" that will be taking place is a retreat of all US troops behind the lines to Kuwait, which as Pelosi could never understand, is a slap in the face to my 3,000 brothers-in-arms who gave their lives for freedom in Iraq.

In Order To Solve A Problem, you Sometimes Have To Work Backwards
2007-02-16 22:11:01
This country is upside down; topsy turvy; listing heavily; Adrift on a sea of treachery and battered by waves of mediocrity and indifference... We've lost our sail; our moral compass. The BIG LIE of political correctness; media bias; judicial tyranny; weak-kneed politicians; the two-party political system; the boundless greed of attorneys; the danger of sexual predators and pedophiles; the social, cultural, and economic burden of illegal aliens; the whittling away of our constitution, our religion, our culture, and our very traditions by the ACLU...

To The Rear... MARCH!
2007-02-16 22:11:01
The alleged incident is still under investigation, and yet people are tossing around expressions such as "murder charges" as if they were condoms on the quarterdeck during liberty. Like John Murtha, a "distinguished" member of Congress, and a former Marine himself, whom I couldn't believe actually called this incident "cold-blooded murder" by US Marines. Common criminals get more respect than that Mr. Murtha. You obviously have some sort of hidden agenda, and I doubt it's the best interests of the US Marine Corps.

The Devil Is In The Details
2007-02-16 22:11:01
After President Bush told Americans that he was giving our troops all of the tools necessary to accomplish their mission, including Rules Of Engagement that allowed United States Marines to respond to, hunt down, and eliminate enemies who attack them, he assured us of victory, if we just "stay the course". The truth of the matter is, the devil is in the details.

If The Shoe-Bomb Fits...
2007-02-16 22:11:01
ANYTHING in the wrong hands can be used as a weapon. A businessman's necktie. A cup of hot coffee. A plastic knife embedded in someone's eye. A set of car keys protruding from a clenched fist. Should we just continue down this path of further stripping away our rights by banning everything the terrorists try to blow up a plane with, or should we ban the terrorists?

Muslim youth are indoctrinated by terrorist agitators from a very young age, that Israelis are the hook-nosed descendants of pigs and monkeys, the US is the Great Satan, and all sorts of other vile things. They back this with a twisted justification that their religion says it's OK to kill nonbelievers, especially Jews. The Palestinians as well as Hezbollah, and many other Muslim terror groups routinely train children to fight after they have bred them on a steady diet of hate. Suicide bombers are lionized by Palestinian children. Ask one what they would like to be when they grow up, and they'll tell you they wish to detonate a bomb on an Israeli bus as an act of revenge.

The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions
2007-02-16 22:11:01
There is no question the US military is up to the task. Not much more can be debated. We have the most technically advanced weapons systems, best trained, equipped, and conditioned personnel, and they are all volunteers which makes them highly motivated. Unfortunately because of the lack of spines in our present leadership, although we have the capability to win in Iraq, victory is by no means certain. In the case of the terrorists, the converse is true. They live in caves and fire homemade rockets and use human bombs. We have radar and stealth and aircraft carriers, yet we're essentially in a stalemate. Everywhere we've engaged them.

Strange Bedfellows
2007-02-16 22:11:01
With a nuclear weapon, Iran becomes powerful. They can destroy Israel. The trouble is, the Arab countries in the region with most of the influence, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan do not want to see Iran emerge as the Middle East's power broker. The idea of a non-Arab state in the Middle East's power position doesn't sit well with them, despite the fact that they too would probably dance for joy if Israel were wiped off the map.

See Jane Run
2007-02-16 22:11:01
On the NPAT, which is a sort of position paper for political candidates that shows where they stand on various issues, Jane Harman (D-CA) took the following positions that were ideologically all over the map: On budgetary spending and Tax Issues - She supports increasing federal funding for the Arts, international aid, and national parks, but to simply maintain current military funding with no increase. Without an even stronger military, we'll be ruled by the Taliban. And judging by their treatment of 1,500 year old Buddha statues, journalists, and Afghans who like to sing and dance, they don't much care for the arts.
Nero Fiddles
2007-02-16 22:11:01
What are the biggest threats to our survival at this point in our history? The United States Senate threatens our survival. With it's complete sellout of American border security for the sake of trying to make voters out of the tidal wave of humanity that is choking our civilization to death. Or exploiting them to score political points. The myth that lettuce would cost $3.00 if Mexicans weren't picking it is utter nonsense. If it was true, then people would do without lettuce, and buy the equivalent of what's now about a gallon of gas instead.

Apply Liberally...
2007-02-16 22:11:01
"Apply liberally while symptoms persist. Discontinue use and consult a physician if symptoms worsen or continue for more than 2 weeks". Thus reads the label on many medicines and ointments meant to help a myriad of conditions from fevers to rashes to mental disorders. Many people suffer from a disease. They recognize the symptoms, but they refuse to see a doctor. The disease is communicable, and sometimes deadly. When members of the general public come in contact with the disease, their immune systems often succumb in a very short time. It begins with a complete failure of the cerebral synapses that control reason and judgment, which mimics Alzheimer's Disease. If allowed to run it's course, it will infect millions, and eventually lead to a pandemic.

Ockham's Razor
2007-02-16 22:11:01
To paraphrase a principle attributed to William of Ockham: All things being equal, the simplest explanation is the correct one. That's the principle known as "Ockham's Razor ". Exhibit A: Witness the debate raging over the flag right now. Once again, the 2-party system is engaged in a tug-of-war, and you and I are at the mercy of the 800 pound gorillas at both ends of the rope. It's enough to give you whiplash. The country continues to be torn asunder by this polarization.
There's A Light At The End Of The Tunnel
2007-02-16 22:11:01
Any war planner will tell you, without both a clear objective and a clear exit strategy; One that sets out both the conditions for victory, as well as those for defeat you have no business starting a fight, because you're not being realistic about the risks. Bush's exit strategy is to leave when the Iraqis take over. I'm sick and tired of hearing "We're fighting them in Iraq so we don't have to fight them here." The fact-of-the-matter is that we ARE fighting them here. All the time. They're infiltrating through that block o' Swiss cheese we call a border; or they're visa holders; or they're homegrown. If we weren't fighting them here, why would we need surveillance and eavesdropping programs, Mr. President?

The Inmates Are Running The Asylum
2007-02-16 22:11:01
As Commander-in-Chief, if you're going to wage war on foreign soil, you have a moral obligation to ensure the hostilities end as soon as possible, with as few lives lost as possible, friend, enemy, or civilian. Let's face it. If we would have come down like a ton of bricks, perhaps more innocent lives would have been lost in the initial invasion, but I have been watching the body count rise steadily for over 2 years, and it's getting worse.

Rage Against The Marines
2007-02-16 22:11:01
The investigation into the alleged massacres that occurred both in Haditha, Iraq in November 2005, and Hamdaniya Iraq in April 2006, undoubtedly have a long way to go. In the last week some of the Mari ne s alleged to have taken part in the Hamdaniya incident have been placed in shackles at Camp Pendleton with more restrictions placed on them than the inmates at Guantanamo. Others have been referred to by US Congressmen as cold blooded murderers, despite the fact no charges have yet been filed.

3rd & Long From Your Own 2
2007-02-16 22:11:01
What we are now witnessing is the manifestation - in the terrorists- of the realization that they cannot defeat US troops militarily. Therefore they are seeking a political end to at least US involvement, by framing them for massacres that they are either committing themselves, or by attacking US troops - as I said in my introduction - "from behind the skirts of women".

Shock And Awe? Or Smoke And Mirrors
2007-02-16 22:11:01
As a veteran myself, I get no pleasure from taking the position that our government is bungling this war. I know it's not what our fighting men and women want to hear; I'm sure it's not what Republicans or many fellow conservatives will ever admit; The truth is, we were promised shock and awe. After untold billions of dollars spent and thousands of American lives lost, all we got was smoke and mirrors.

The Root Of All Evil
2007-02-16 22:11:01
The two-party political system is no longer about which candidate would best represent the values of their consituents. It isn't even about which political party has the best vision for the country's future. These days, It's only about which machine can churn out the most cash so they can blanket the airwaves with deceptive advertising, mudslinging, fear-mongering, and false promises of deliverance.

The Three R's
2007-02-16 22:11:01
It is the height of arrogance for liberals to think they can socially engineer an end to all violence. In the end, it just backfires, and has the opposite effect. With no outlet for seeking justice against society's bullies, and ill equipped by their parents for handling conflict in a constructive fashion, these ticking time-bombs will continue to go off in our nation's schools.

Skeletons In Your Closet? Stop Throwing Me Bones

If ever there was a case study for a violation of the workplace laws against sexual harassment that Congress themselves helped to enact, this is it. Those in Congress who knew about it and did nothing ought to be facing the same stiff penalties as Foley, should criminal charges result.

From The Greatest Generation To Self-Annihilation
2007-02-16 22:11:01
In World War II, it wasn't just young men who gave their all. It was women, and children. It was W.A.C.s, W.A.S.P.s, and Rosie the Riveter. Kids collected scrap rubber and aluminum for recycling into aircraft parts. There were War Bonds and Civil Air Patrols. The whole nation joined the fight, convinced they'd be speaking German or Japanese if they didn't.

From Their Mouths To Allah's Ears
2007-02-16 22:11:01
Do you understand yet? That is exactly what the terrorists wanted. And the media played right into their hands. This is -once again- an asymmetrical war, and that was an asymmetrical attack, and cable news was but one of the delivery mechanisms.
