The ?C? in ?CNN? stands for ?Castro?
2008-02-20 13:21:00 It sure looks that way after finding out, via The Natural Truth, the “news” agency sent its on-air staffers an e-mail yesterday with the following talking points on the “Castro resigns” story (my comments in parentheses): -Please note Fidel did bring social reforms to Cuba ? namely free education (you mean indoctrination) and universal(ly awful) ... Woohoo, my first hate mail!
2008-02-20 01:03:00 With apologies to an individual who sent me, at best, a lukewarm, condescending e-mail a few months ago, today I received my first true hate mail. I won’t reprint it here–it was basically a self righteously indignant diatribe with the typical leftist “blame America first, Cuba has great education and medical systems,” etc., cliches. ... Wait for the quid pro quo, it?s coming
2008-02-16 01:41:00 So Spain made the grand announcement that Cuba is releasing seven political prisoners, and the MSM rejoices and makes Raul sound like the second coming of Ghandi: Cuba will free seven of 59 dissidents imprisoned since 2003, a move that opponents of ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro said reflects a “climate of change” under his brother’s ... 2008-02-16 01:30:00 …but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 2008-02-13 03:28:00 Only in Castro ’s Cuba would this kind of BS pass for normal: A Cuban student who appeared in a video last week grilling a top Cuban official is denying reports that he was arrested afterward, and maintains that his questions were aimed only at bettering socialism. In the video CNN obtained and aired last week, ... More About: Media , World , Bizarro

Raul beats his brother Fidel
2008-01-31 03:56:00 Too bad it wasn’t with a two-by-four: Fidel Castro, who has not appeared in public since he was sidelined by stomach surgery 18 months ago, got 98.3 percent of the votes cast in the district he represents in Santiago, Cuba’s second city. Brothers to the Rescue “Shoot Down†documentary premieres
2008-01-19 00:42:00 Shoot Down, the documentary on the 1996 shootdown of two unarmed Brothers to the Rescue Cessnas by Castro’s supersonic MiG fighter jets (which we blogged about back in August), premieres today to a limited, invitation-only audience in Miami. I couldn’t make it–I aggravated an already bad leg injury which I’m currently nursing at home (not to mention that my invitation came via “unofficial” channels…). The world premiere comes next week, January 25th. It will only run in select theaters, listed below the fold. One of the more remarkable things about the film is that the director, who debuts in that role, is the niece of one of the victims of the incident. Read more about it here. No wonder it’s been a cold winter
2008-01-16 16:10:00 The world’s biggest source of hot air is cooling down: Fidel Castro said Wednesday he is not yet healthy enough to speak to Cuba’s masses in person and can’t campaign for Sunday’s parliamentary elections. “I am not physically able to speak directly to the citizens of the municipality where I was nominated for our elections next Sunday,” the ailing 81-year-old wrote in an essay published Wednesday by state news media.
