I said that I'd write about Robert McNamara! After writing this post, I couldn't get "great Gatsby" out of my head & again I found myself reading it. as Chandler used to say, God! that's good literature!I hope not to bore you but for god's sake just read this golden piece of the novel. not only it's beautiful & heart-breaking but I think it means a lot more today than when it was published. you should read it in a post 9/11 world.it's the ending pages & though it doesn't reveal too much about what has happened throughout the book, but it's final pages anyway! so here we go, my friends;--------------------Spoiler Warning--------------------"I couldn’t forgive him or like him, but I saw that what he had done was, to him, entirely justified. Movie Madness In Iran

By now, you should know that our new year started a few days ago & here something interesting happens. the TV starts bombarding it's audience with tons of Hollywood movies.For those of you who don't know; the only TV organization inside Iran , which is part of the state but not the government is IRIB. it's chief executive is appointed by Iran's Leader (wiki). IRIB owns near a dozen of national channels & even more local ones.while the guys at IRIB probably try to do their best & things has improved during the years, IRIB still greatly suffers from its own monopolization; It has no competitor & whatever they do, people don't have other options to watch (well! legal options I mean...satellite receivers which are currently illegal in the country are widely used & nobody tries to impose that law. of course there is a bill in parliament (wiki) which tries to facilitate & legalize the use of satellite receivers but that's subject of another post....but I can't not tell you ...

F. Scott FitzgeraldStill haven't watched Zodiak. But I was surfing the net & I saw these & thaught might not be a bad idea if I posted it.These are Fincher next projects. He is currently filming "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (Imdb)(yeah! that's the name!). Now this could be too exciting; this is based on a short story by Scott Fitzgerald (Read the Full text version in his book of short stories; "Tales of the jazz age"). I haven't read the story (I just know that's about an odd romance between a woman of 30 and a man who, at 50, begins aging backwards....yeah! that's the plot!) but if Scott Fitzgerald in this is anything like what he was when he wrote "Great Gatsby" (Get the Full Text Version) , we're in for a ride. just imagine what a combination of Fincher stylized imagery & Fitzgerald unique lonely characters would be like.just take a look at this beautiful passage of Great Gatsby's first chapter; it's near the end of the chapter. It's new year in Iran & again I've got this bizzare feeling you get in the first hours of first day of year; This childish wondering about what will happen in the next 365 days.in less than 6 month, I may be sitting on the couch playing with my beloved Wii*, & in less than 6 month I may find myself in the front, fighting with american soldiers coming to my country.for you, this may look too dramatic, too exagerated, but for me this is life!...just simple life!anyway... happy new year!*I could buy it last month & I almost did, then I thaught buying a wii, is no differant than saying goodbuy to my project. it's the shame but I don't know how to refuse to play a wonderful video game!

Now, I know this is not new & many of you know how to download flash videos (videos you find on Google video, Youtube , Yahoo video & such) but I'm putting this, at least for future references.(Beginner Users Notice! The Good Guy's Lost...

The Risewhen a music video director comes to big screen ( and as they do it more & more every day), you shouldn't expect something genuine, something great. they usually don't care about the plot or their camera gets too jumpy & while their movies look great (just like any music video) most of the times this "Cool" look is irrelevant & doesn't relate to the whole theme of the movie.But David Fincher's (wiki-Imdb) a great exception.He's a great director & there's no doubt about it. one only has to see 5 minutes of "Seven" (wiki) to find it out & it even doesn't matter which 5 minutes....every single scene of that movie is great. there is a special unique feel about the sinful city (which we'll never hear it's name through out the movie) & you can see it in every frame.2 years later he directed "the Game" (wiki) & again 2 years after that he made his fourth movie. this one was even more breathtaking. I just watched the whole movie & believe me; it's shocking!it's actually a long interview with Robert McNamara (US defence secretary before & during Vietnam war) & it's not like portraynig a devil person or showing footage of the wounded people to make you cry...not at all! watching the movie, you come to understand how he & his fellows see the world & this is even more scary & more tragic.it's more than 90 minutes but you won't notice it & I bet you'll be left frozen ion front of the screen when the black ending titles come upI'll write about this in details soon...
