The Right To What?s Left
2007-07-06 17:54:00
Fred Thompson and Hillary Clinton were walking down the street when they came upon a homeless person. Fred gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the man. Hillary was so impressed that when ...

American Graffiti

I’ve come to realize I take a lot for granted. I don’t just mean the incredible country we live in, the abundant freedom it offers or the limitless opportunity it provides. We all take our liberty and way of life as a given much of the time. It is, at once, both blessing and curse to be so automatic. Most of us are fortunate enough to never have known anything less. Even our worst of times in America have been more prosperous than the best of times in many other parts of our big, blue marble. What I am referring to is the average person’s American ignorance; their complete lack of basic information about their own country. Haven’t they taught our kids anything in school or are we raising multiple generations of mental door knobs, who can’t retain anything except whether Paris Hilton is in or out of jail and the name of the latest American Idol winner? Are the ultra-liberal professors ensconced in, so called, institutions of higher learning dummin...

It wasn’t long ago when you’d walk into a place called Smitty’s and the guy behind the counter was 6′-3″, weighed 240, had a ruddy complexion from the sun, wore an old gray tee-shirt and a red bandanna. Now Smitty is about 5 foot nothing, weighs 100 pounds if he gets caught in the rain, has a ruddy complexion from genetics, wears an old gray tee-shirt and a white turban. One of the more irritating techniques used to lobby for the recently-defeated amnesty bill was the constant reference to those against it as being against immigration. The media, and most of the liberal politicians, intentionally left out the key word…“illegal”. They even went so far as to accuse those who vigorously opposed the bill of being “bigots”. One look at my three mocha-shaded grandchildren and my son’s beautiful fiancee from China makes me wonder how that’s possible. For the vast majority of us, of course, it’s an insult....

Kudos America
2007-06-28 21:41:00
Congratulations to the America n people for stepping up and defeating the immigration amnesty bill. Thank you to our Senators for hearing our voices and, nearly, making us feel represented once again. You’ll notice, almost without exception, the print and broadcast lynch-mob is talking about the defeat of “Mr. Bush’s Bill”. Unfortunately, he supported the ...

With Socialist Democrats at the gates in Washington, another destructive immigration bill in the offing and a bloodthirsty enemy plotting our destruction, I often seek a bit of levity wherever I can find it. If humor is the last vestige of sanity, it’s one way to help keep my mental glue from melting. When I ...

We The People

Imagine a country where you’re told by the government what you are allowed to say, how you may say it and what you are permitted to hear. It’s a place where the very mention of God is a crime, where lawbreakers are rewarded and law-abiding citizens persecuted. There are regulations as to ...

Michael who? It seems that Michael Bloomberg wants to be President of the United States, despite his hedging on the question. New York is the greatest city in the world. I’m sure I would find more than a few people in Boston who would passionately argue that point with me, especially on a sunny summer afternoon at the ball yard. In fact, I would probably take serious heat on that topic in any major ...

2007-06-08 16:30:00
Not so long ago, in a galaxy not so far away… …there lived a sort of princess named Hill ary . From the very beginning everyone knew she was special, for even as a young girl, she created an alternate reality from which she could look out but no one could see in. It would serve her well ...

Sands Of Silence
2007-06-05 20:58:00
Somewhere in the Iraqi desert, a heavily cloaked, hooded figure glides silently across the sand, dropping occasionally to one knee to fire short a burst from his automatic weapon. He says he is a jihadist, training to attack the Great Satan. He will kill as many American infidels as he can, in the name of ...

It isn’t How You Play The Game…
2007-06-03 03:18:00
The good old double standard has flourished in politics for a long time, especially of late with most media fabricating rather than reporting news. However, creation of an alternate set of rules, by both the lynch-mob and self-serving politicians, points us toward a new and dangerous reality. When Sandy Burglar gets a slap on the wrist for stuffing secret national defense documents down his pants, it’s dismissed as “sloppy”. When Congressman William Jefferson, Democrat Louisiana gets caught with $92,000 in marked bills in his freezer, everyone looks the other way. Whether it’s Harry Reid’s crooked land deals, Diane Feinstein’s conflicted favoritism or Chappaquiddick Ted’s career the Senate instead of in a prison laundry, justice seems to be blind only to the facts. Personally, my neck is getting sore from looking the other way and now we’re seeing the same non-standards being applied in the presidential race. Surprise! Rudy becomes...

We live on a hillside at the edge of the woods. It’s a beautiful setting and the woods around us are alive with all sorts of creatures, from bears and bobcats to deer and raccoons. Most of the wildlife seems to fend pretty well for itself but, somehow, beautiful Bambi tugs with special tenderness ...

Memorial Day, first known as Decoration Day, was originally intended to honor those who gave their lives for our country during the Civil War. After World War I, the meaning was expanded to include remembrance of all who died in any war or military action. For me, this also includes the 3,000 ...

The Pot ‘N The Kettle
2007-05-24 21:12:00
Look at the rusty old pot trying to call the kettle black! Jimmy Carter, once again, proved his complete irrelevance by proclaiming “the Bush administration is the worst in history”. Now he’s backing up so fast you can almost hear him make a beeping sound. Mr. Bush quietly dismissed the remark as the ramblings of an old fool, though he is too much the gentleman to say it in so many words. Instead of writing books in an effort to distract from his failures and traveling the world badmouthing America, Carter should have gone back to farming peanuts in Georgia a long time ago. In fact, looking at the damage he has done to our country in the past 30 years, he should never have left. This is a man who took over a reasonably sound economy which he quickly decimated with 20% interest rates, 12% inflation, 10% unemployment and staggering Social Security taxes. He, also, managed to mishandle an oil energy crisis, sold out vital American interests in Panama and spent mo...

What ever happened to truth, justice and the American way? When did it become fabrication, bias and Socialist doctrine? Previously I have questioned not only Democrat judgment but, unlike many, their patriotism as well. Now, I add serious questions about their humanity to the list. Reid Must Go!
2007-04-25 18:13:00
What a team! House Madam Pelosi travels the world encouraging the terrorists and Little Harry Reid speaks out from the Senate handing them victory. Congratulations Presidents Ahmadinejad, Assad and Mr. al-Sadr of Baghdad. You have two powerful allies. What’s more, they have many equally stupid followers. Yes, Reid actually said it, “This war is lost, and the surge is not accomplishing anything.” One article I read talked about our dull-witted Senate Majority leader approaching treason with his remarks. Like Pelosi’s actions, Reid’s remarks passed treasonous a long time ago. Furthermore, he made his comments knowing full well every indication shows the opposite is true. I now raise my voice, alongside Rush Limbaugh and several others, who have called for his resignation. I further suggest prosecution. We’re at war! They say Little Harry was a boxer. I have to wonder what size mice he was matched with and how many times they hit him in the ...

Poli-Tech
2007-04-23 22:51:00
The only thing more shocking and reprehensible than the cold-blooded murder of 33 Virginia Tech students last week was the immediate politicizing of this horrific event by Democrat sharpshooters and their allies in the liberal media. Many have chosen to use this tragic act as yet another excuse to dredge up all the old gun control arguments instead of looking at the real causes of a deranged shooter being able to snuff out these innocent lives. First of all he was, in fact, deranged. I refuse to even use his name and provide the fame, glorification or add in any way to the publicity he sought. Guns are not inherently evil, anymore than box cutters are and I don’t recall anyone trying to legislate away the right to own a box cutter, even after the hijacking of aircraft with that item on 9/11. It’s not the implement but the user of that implement that presents the evil. With enough motivation any object can be turned into a lethal weapon. In fact, crimes are stopped ...

You know how kind kids can be. Especially if there’s something different about another kid, that’s when their kindness really shines through. Remember when a new kid came to school? Everyone made him feel so welcome you just wanted to cry. In fact, a lot of those new or different kids did cry. It seems to me that same sort of ‘kindness’ is still alive and well, right alongside the kid in all of us. You don’t even need an infirmity, a two point I.Q. or a different skin color; you can be just as different if you’re too brainy, beautiful or a little taller. Whatever the offending characteristic, it stifles the fuller acceptance most of us naturally crave. So, if we’re really looking for acceptance, and not just testing people’s kindness quotient, why do we work so hard at emphasizing differences instead of pointing to the things we have in common? I watched a group on television a few nights ago as they discussed fallout from the...
Imus In The Mourning
2007-04-15 22:43:00
Last week, so called ’shock jock’ Don Imus directed an ill-fated attempt at his brand of humor toward the Rutgers University girls basketball team. He referred to them as “nappy-headed hos”. That remark got him fired by the NBC news department and from his CBS radio show. It also earned him a merciless ...

The Sound Of Silence
2007-04-11 21:33:00
Since she sold out America last week, it’s almost magical the way a deafening silence has engulfed the despicable crimes of Nancy Pelosi. The only exceptions seem to be some occasional mental flatulence by the odd spin-doctor or recognized terrorist supporter Jimmy Carter. The most incompetent president in recent memory botched it badly in the 70s, doesn’t get it now and never will understand the nature of a sworn enemy. Forgetting all his domestic buffoonery, the holes in his foreign policy were only slightly smaller than the ones in House Madam Pelosi’s head, when she appointed herself Secretary of State, or President, or whomever she was supposed to be while handing our Islamo-Nazi adversaries a huge propaganda victory. When are we going to see an investigative commission, a special prosecutor, criminal charges or, at least, hear an apology? It’s wartime and she has committed treasonous acts against America. At the very least, she seems in violation o...

An Inconvenient Reality
2007-04-03 17:32:00
I’ve tried to ignore this nonsense as long as possible but Monday’s decision by our run amok Supreme Court and the incredibly biased reporting by the world lynch-mob media have left me no choice. I have an inconvenient truth about global warming for Greenhouse Al Gore and the rest of those lemmings marching along behind him in lock step. There is none. Of course he knows that but he’s managing to sell his dangerous and costly agenda to a fickle segment of the public, in an attempt to attract enough attention for another White House run. We’re looking at the same retreaded crowd of nutjobs that was crying about global cooling in the 70’s. The new glacial age was going to wipe out the planet within ten years. Gee, we’re all here for the replays thirty years later. Two Newsweek articles from 1975 make it deja vu all over again. Give them each a glance and as you read, substitute the word ‘warming’ for ‘cooling’; y...

President By A Hair?
