There have been quite a few articles lately about meatpacking plants in the US. Through the 1960's and 1970's, these were union jobs all filled by hard-working Americans. That's all gone now, and all of the work is now being done by illegal aliens or more recently refugees from foreign lands. This fox is very rare in the areas and it seems to qualify as endangered on the basis of the Endangered Species Act. I think it needs an emergency listing.The only confirmed population is a tiny population of only 10-15 foxes in and around Lassen National Park where the Northern Sierra meets the Southern Cascades.This area has historically seen more sightings than any other part of California (sighting map for Northern California). This concentration is focused in Lassen, Tehama and Shasta Counties in and around Lassen Park. Updated June 18:We've just passed 1,600 visitors a day for the past week, even though I haven't posted much. Everybody local I talk to thinks this blog is some kind of a joke, but according to The Truth Laid Bear, it is in the top 1,500 blogs on the Internet. That's out of over 90 million blogs. It's true that TTLB doesn't count them all, but still...Everybody seems to think it's simple to get 1,500 visitors/day traffic. Tell you what. Go for it. Go make yourself a blog and see how long it takes you to get up to 1,500 visitors/day. It took me 3 1/2 years of hard, painstaking work.I may try to get on with BlogAds. At that kind of traffic, you might start making a little bit. You really need over 1,000/day and a tightly focused blog to get any significant ads at all. Problem with this blog is it is not that tightly focused. I had an advertiser, but he wanted $25/month and I told him to walk. Updated June 18:I really feel that e-commerce has shot itself in the foot. I would much rather buy about any product at a brick and mortar store any day of the week. My experiences with e-commerce have typically been horrible.I just got a spyware infection from a site that sells fake spyware apps to consumers. Why are these sites even legal?First they try to load trojans (in this case, one called Zlob) on your site, then they install malware on your computer without even asking for it, then it runs and "finds" all this fake spyware on your system that doesn't even exist, then tries to make you buy the program to fix the nonexistent spyware problems.Then they make it impossible to remove it from your system, and I'm a computer expert. Now I have a popup all the time in my tray and no way to get rid of it.The program was uninstalled via Add Remove Programs and I deleted some Registry entries and went through and found more crap afterwards, and deleted it from Registry and Programs....

Updated June 18:This is one of the worst times of year for me - early June. My allergies go nuts and I'm extremely tired all the time. Bottom line is I don't feel like doing much of anything. I sleep 9-15 hours a day and I need to take stimulants (asthma medication) and drink about five cups of coffee to even make a 100-mile round trip drive. If I don't do that, I will fall asleep on the road and crash my car.I'm getting allergy shots once a week now, and it's the only thing that helps with the fatigue. I also drink quite a bit of coffee every day and I need to take multiple hits off the stimulant asthma inhaler just to make through the evening without nodding off.This is a really bad time of year for the pollens, especially in the Sierra foothills, where I am at the moment house-sitting at my parents' house (I live 33 miles away in the Valley) for my 86-yr-old father (he can't be left alone) while my mother and sister are visiting my aunt in the Chicago suburbs.It's times o...
