Dick Morris: Who Is Going To Win
2008-01-16 14:33:00
Received via emailWHO'S GOING TO WIN?DICK MORRIS' '08 PLAY-BY-PLAY ANALYSISVolume 1, #24Jan 15, 2008THE DEMOCRATS:HILLARY V OBAMA Three major factors dominate the Democratic contest: gender, age, and race.GENDER Hillary's surprising victory in New Hampshire placed gender squarely back at the center of the contest. Women voters were the ones who made the big difference: Hillary carried single women by 16 points and married women by 11, while losing men by 13%. For the last year, Hillary ran as a kind of androgynous front runner, but now she has re-emerged as the first woman candidate for president. Look forward to hearing more and more about how her candidacy is historical and how her experience as a daughter, sister, wife, and mother will make her a unique president. Her new focus on seeing the "invisible" people and hearing their voices and their needs strikes just the right tone to develop her gender-based victory coalition in the primaries.  No doubt it was care...

Nope, No Bias Here
2008-01-15 06:22:00
The following is another good example of the overwhelming liberal bias in the media. Not to beat a dead and decaying horse but this is for the wackjob leftanistas that occasional read this blog. They often insist that the media has a conservative bias which in lib jargon actually means that the media is not biased enough in their favor to please them. But they are still biased. The Wizbang points out the not so subtle hypocrisy and lies of the Boston Globe in this story on deporting illegals that haven't committed any crimes...oh wait.... Wizbang article link Nope, No Bias Here Posted by Jay Tea Published: January 14, 2008 - 6:00 AM If there was ever any doubt about the Boston Globe's position on illegal aliens, this weekend should put the nail in that coffin. First up, on Saturday, the Glob published an article that took a statistical look at deportations of illegal aliens. It seems that more and more who have no criminal record are getting the boot, and that has a l...
The Clinton Malignancy
2008-01-15 06:19:00
This is put so well about the Clinton s. Riehl World article link The Clinton Malignancy I had all but forgotten how repulsive the Clintons are. Most amazing is how so many Democrats seem to have no trouble slopping themselves at the trough of these two pigs. They must fancy themselves a sort of monarchy; they're certainly as dysfunctional and decadent as one. And vile, too. Obama, by no means an innocent, a capable political player, himself, is taking his shots, while covering himself, too. Good on him. Someone, a non-Republican for a change, has to stand up to this lying crew, while besting them in this year's political sport. Barack Obama’s campaign has dismissed as not believable a prominent Hillary Rodham Clinton backer’s “tortured explanation” for seeming to inject Obama’s youthful drug use into the 2008 presidential campaign, and called it “troubling” that Clinton has not done more to distance herself from the remark. Hitchens sums it up effectively. ...

Waterboarding would be torture to me: U.S. spy chief
2008-01-14 03:10:00
My point in posting this article is to point out a couple of glaring examples of bias and yes even blatant activism in the media. In this first quote the so called 'journalist' is saying that Americas reputation has been damaged worldwide as if it were a proven fact and not even slightly open to conjecture. It seems to me that is an incredible statement. Who has this reporter talked to and confirmed that Americas reputation has been damaged? Did they take a poll or do a study? Or is it just the usual talking points pulled out of their ass? The reputation of the United States has been badly tarnished internationally by its harsh treatment of prisoners detained in President George W. Bush's war against terrorism, particularly those held at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and at the Guantanamo naval base on Cuba. The following quote is just as bad. The CIA has said the tapes were destroyed to protect the lives of their field agents. Politicians are known to leak classified information a...

Clinton Adviser Charged With DWI in NH

Washington Post article link Clinton Adviser Charged With DWI in NH The Associated Press NASHUA, N.H. -- A senior adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton was arrested and charged with aggravated drunken driving a day before the New Hampshire primary.Nashua police say Sidney Blumenthal was arrested early Monday morning after an officer pulled over a car traveling 70 mph in a 30 mph zone. Blumenthal, 59, is a journalist and former White House adviser to President Bill Clinton who is now serving as an unpaid adviser on Hillary Clinton's campaign."I asked if he was here with a campaign. He said he was here with Clinton," Sgt. Mike Masella, one of the arresting officers, told newsweek.com.Masella said Blumenthal told him he got lost after leaving a restaurant in Manchester, about 20 miles away, to return to his hotel.Smelling alcohol, officers said they administered a field sobriety test, which Blumenthal failed. Dick Morris: Will NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg Run?
2008-01-13 16:03:00
Received via email WILL NYC MAYOR MIKE BLOOMBERG RUN?Mike Bloomberg By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANNPublished on FoxNews.com on January 11, 2008.While Obama and Clinton wrestle and the four Republican candidates face one another, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s shadow increasingly falls over their playing field. Armed with as much money as he could possibly need to run, this Democrat-turned-Republican could throw the entire race into chaos.Bloomberg can wait and watch the primaries unfold before making his move. A byproduct of the front loading of the primaries in both parties is that the nominees will probably be chosen with plenty of time for a third party candidate to enter the field. The New York City mayor could either get himself nominated by the Green Party, formerly the vehicle for gadfly Ralph Nader, or set up his own party by petition in the 50 states. His massive financial resources make it possible for him to wait until early Spring before he has to begin colle...

'Surge' Troops Might Stay In Iraq
2008-01-13 01:38:00
One of the things that infuriates the left the most about President Bush is that he does what he thinks is right regardless of public opinion. In other words he does not pander to people and THAT is precisely what makes liberals foam at the mouth. They are too used to Democrat politicians abasing themselves to please them. And when that does not happen you get BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome). My personal opinion on Iraq has evolved over the years. And while I do not think we should be in Iraq or the business of nation building, the simple fact is we are there. And we broke Iraq so we own it until we fix it. I expect that the media and the left will have a field day with this. MyWay News article link Bush Says Troop Cutbacks Might Stop   American Soldier In IraqBy TERENCE HUNTMANAMA, Bahrain (AP) - President Bush said Saturday he is open to the possibility of slowing or stopping plans to bring home more U.S. troops from Iraq, defying domestic demands to speed the withdrawals. ...

UN Remains Impotent as Captive of US
2008-01-12 21:25:00
This article from the leftist site Common Dreams is a typical example of how the left hates America and never fails to embrace anyone else that also hates us. Well, that is when it is a Republican administration in Washington. It is of course all lollipops and rainbows when it is a Democrat in the White House. But for at least the next year or so the US will remain the cause of all evil in the world. In the leftist dream world anyway. This piece below reads like something from some alternate universe. They talk as if the United Nations were anything other than a platform for third world countries to piss on America. But again that would all change with a Democrat administration. I like to read lib blogs and forums to get some insight into what is going on inside their self centered arrogant little heads. This piece is a very typical example of how they think. Socialism is always better. Individuality and self reliance should never be encouraged. Decision by committee rather than ind...

Chertoff unveils new rules for driver's licenses
2008-01-12 16:30:00
There has always been a lot of paranoia and hype about a national ID card. In response to the 9-11 attack the much ballyhooed 9-11 Commission directed the Department of Homeland Security to overhaul the drivers license requirements nation wide. Many people say it will be abused and are even saying it will lead to a police state. People, we already have national ID cards. It is our social security cards and drivers licenses. All this new plan will do is standardize the requirements nationally. Tempest in a teapot folks. Normally I do not trust Michael Chertoff as far as I could throw him. But this is not even his doing. He is just doing as Congress directed in response to the 9-11 Commission Report. The Real ID Act is one of the few really good pieces of legislation to come out of the Congress in the last few years. Besides, it gives the states years and years to comply. This is no big deal folks. USA Today article link Chertoff unveils new rules for driver's licenses Michael Chert...

Hillary Clinton Says Yes On Using Torture (audio)
2008-01-12 15:41:00
This is an interesting soundbite of Hillary discussing her views on using torture as an interrogation method. She is in favor of it. Hat tip to Ben Smith at The Politico for linking to the file. This is from a meeting Hillary attended with the editors of the New York Daily News. You have to listen close as she drops her voice down low when she says "yeah" she agrees at the end. Marc Ambinder: The Crucible Of Racial Politics
2008-01-12 05:44:00
Marc Ambinder goes into the issue of the Clintons and playing racial politics against Barack Obama. As I said in an earlier post Democrats play the race card so often they really should not be surprised when one of their own palys it against them. In this case it is however not the Obama campaign making the charges against the Clinton campaign. It is a 'social activist' unaligned with any campaign. I have included a comment by a reader at the Marc Ambinder site at the bottom of this story. I thought it very well said. When you live by the racial sword you might just die by the racial sword. Marc Ambinder article link The Crucible Of Racial Politics 11 Jan 2008 09:18 pmRace and gender have always been subtexts of the Democratic presidential race, and for the first time, really, since this whole thing began, they've become fully fledged texts. PETA Killed 97 Percent Of Animals Up For Adoption
2008-01-12 05:12:00
Now who is really surprised at this? Hypocrisy is stock and trade of leftist groups like PETA. I have said so many times that these groups intentionally pick a constituency that is unable to refute them such as animals, the environment, 'the children' etc. And they do not give a rats ass about animals or the environment. It is all about punishing American business and reducing our standard of living. Hillary Steps on her dick vis-à-vis MLK
2008-01-12 04:13:00
Will Hillary really get called on this or given a pass by most of the media as usual? Mother Jones ain't giving her no pass though. In most circumstances a comment of this sort would be taken at face value and nothing would be thought about it. But in an atmosphere of hyper attention to the slightest possibility of being offended it is seen as a slap in the face to MLK by other Democrats. And when you play the game of racial politics it will turn and bite you on the ass now and then. I love it when a liberal is hoisted on their own politically correct petard. Mother Jones article link Clinton Faces Trouble in South Carolina for MLK RemarksUS Congressman James Clyburn (D) Before the New Hampshire primary, Hillary Clinton went on Fox News and responded to Barack Obama's frequent invocations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Dr. King’s dream began to be realized when President Lyndon Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964," she said. U.S. Forces Eliminate al Qaeda Sanctuary in Baghdad

Global Security article link U.S. Forces Eliminate al Qaeda Sanctuary in Baghdad By Kristen NoelSpecial to American Forces Press ServiceWASHINGTON, Jan. 11, 2008. A neighborhood formerly overrun by al Qaeda in Baghdad’s Rashid district has been cleared of the enemy and is starting to thrive again, a U.S. commander in Iraq said. The sanctuary al Qaeda had in eastern Rashid’s Hadar neighborhood was one of the last significant concentrations of al Qaeda in Baghdad, Army Col. John RisCassi said yesterday during a teleconference with online journalists and bloggers. RisCassi is commander of the 25th Infantry Division’s 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, which began conducting operations to remove al Qaeda from eastern Rashid in September. The regiment had great success, RisCassi said. After 106 days of continuous operations, we have reduced enemy attacks in east Rashid from over 12 a day to less than one event every two days.Soldiers also destroyed more than 100 improvised explosive devic...

Report Released On F-15 Failures
2008-01-11 01:57:00
Remember the so called "Peace Dividend" during the first Bush administration and the Clinton years? It was really little more than a thinly veiled slogan to allow the military to be gutted. And of course rather than just not spending the money it was poured down the numerous social program ratholes Bush Sr and Bill Clinton pushed. Previous post on this issue. You expect Democrats to strangle the military and steal their money for 'feel good' social programs. But damnit, the Republicans are supposed to be the ones strong on defense and pro military. But that has not been the case since Ronald Reagan. Those rat bastard neocons in the White House now are only for a strong military in order to further their North American Union agenda. This problem with the F-15's is to be expected of any fighter aircraft as old as the Eagles are. The T-38's and F-5E's I worked on had similar structural fatigue issues and they generally had much less airframe stress than F-15's. And when...

Dick Morris: Now Barack Better Brace For Barrage
2008-01-10 14:18:00
Received Via Email. NOW BARACK BETTER BRACE FOR BARRAGEBy DICK MORRISPublished in the New York Post on January 9, 2008.Hillary Rodham Clinton's stunning comeback victory in New Hampshire duplicates the feat of Bill Clinton who overcame the draft and Gennifer Flowers in the Granite State primary in 1992.But Hillary did Bill one better. He placed second. She won. Those who counted Hillary out don't know her and don't know the Clintons. The clear message of the New Hampshire primary is there is no front-runner, but it's a two-way race between the queen and the challenger that won't be decided by an early knockout. But Hillary approaches the balance of the month in very good shape. The Battle of Hillary, in a sense, is over. She has been challenged and hit, but stayed on her feet. She has weathered the negatives, lost her momentum, and still emerged, in effect, tied for the lead. Now the Battle of Obama is about to begin. The negative researchers and detectives who staff the Clinton camp...

Since when have Race and/or Sex become a prerequisite for Office?
2008-01-10 04:52:00
Are you tired of RACE and SEX being a qualifier for OFFICE. Especially for President? Does it seem to you lately that every time they mention Clinton or Obama. The media has to refer to their race Obama (black or not black enough),or sex in Clinton's(women) case? I for one am so tired of the media, force feeding to us the obvious fact that these two candidates (of which there are many more whom they never mention their race or sex) are a woman or black. I want to vote for a candidate on his or her issues not there skin color or because she's a woman. And I have not heard very much on the issues from any of the candidates to be honest. Slavery has reared it's ugly head again. I heard the other day that Obama could be a healer for the slavery issue. Get over it, Slavery was over, 243 years ago. Why do we still hear about it and why is it always the whites oppressed us? I remember learning, slavery was started by blacks selling blacks into slavery. Some of the candidates wan...

McCain's Back, But Immigration Reform Isn't
2008-01-10 04:52:00
It is astonishing that anyone would even think that immigration amnesty could be back on the table. George Bush pushing for that so hard was instrumental in the Republicans losing majorities in both Houses of Congress. To even consider taking up the cause of immigration for illegal's is utter folly for Republicans. George Bush has not damaged their party enough between the war in Iraq and immigration amnesty? McCain is already seen as little more than “Bush Lite” by many. It would be utter folly for him to embrace that cause of amnesty for illegal's again. "If we get another president who has ... 'compassionate conservatism' run amok, that's going to be real hard for the Republican Party," King said. These people still do not get it that it is not about compassion for the illegals. It is about cheap labor and erasing our southern border with Mexico. These people's plan for a North American Union is very, very real. Washington Post article link McCain's Back , But I...

Dick Morris: Here Come Those Tears
2008-01-09 14:54:00
Received via email HERE COME THOSE TEARSBy DICK MORRISPublished on January 8, 2008.Why did Hillary cry during an ABC interview yesterday? Some say it was phony, contrived to make her appear more human and empathetic.  Wrong.  She must have known the political consequences, particularly for a female candidate, of tears.  Ed Muskie watered his political grave in New Hampshire in 1972 by crying in public over the false accusation that he had used a derogatory ethnic term to describe French Canadians.  Nixon’s dirty tricks people had planted the phony story.  But the tears ended Muskie’s candidacy.Others say that the tears reflected genuine emotion and sorrow for the diminished future prospects of America now that it would not have Hillary Clinton to lead it into the future.  Wrong again.  Even she is not that arrogant. The real reason was that her frustration at not being able to control events boiled over and metastasized into tears.I know because I saw it once before in 1994 a...

McCain Wins GOP; Clinton and Obama Tied
2008-01-09 02:19:00
Washington Post article link McCain Wins in NH; Obama and Clinton in Close Race By Chris Cillizzawashingtonpost.com staff writerIn a remarkable political comeback, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has won the New Hampshire Republican primary while the Democratic race seems headed down to the wire with results showing a surprisingly tight contest between Sens. Barack Obama (Ill.) and Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.).For McCain, the win is an affirmation of the connection that he enjoys with the voters of New Hampshire who first propelled him onto the national stage with a double-digit win over then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush in 2000. McCain's campaign appeared dead in the water just a few months ago as laggardly fundraising and a series of staff departures left him with little hope of a comeback. Tonight, he roared back into the top-tier of the Republican presidential field, with Michigan -- a state he carried in 2000 -- looming on Jan. 15.Chuck Douglas, a former Congressman and McCain suppor...

Clinton Begins Retooling Campaign Team
2008-01-09 02:13:00
So far no heads have officially rolled from the Clinton campaign team. But a number of new faces are showing up so it is a safe bet that we will see some restructuring before too long. Her humiliating defeat in Iowa must have come like a heart attack to the previously presumptive Democrat candidate. New Hampshire will be decided by a handful of votes and the best Hillary can expect is a win at most by a point or two. And it is still too close to call. HILLARY: THE LIKABILITY TOUR IS OVER!By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANNPublished on January 7, 2008.Hillary Clinton made one thing very clear at Saturday night’s Democratic debate: her likability tour is definitely over!Baring her claws at opponents Barack Obama and John Edwards, the real Hillary was finally in evidence. The mask was off and her rage, arrogance, and sense of entitlement were on full display. It was not a pretty picture. From the first moment that she entered the stage, Hillary’s body language shrieked one thing – smoldering, simmering anger. The constant smile and the cackling laugh that have been her campaign trademark were suddenly gone. In their place was a furious, primal glare. And it wasn’t just aimed at her opponents. She seemed to be angry at the voters, too.  It was as though she wanted to scream at them and say: “Don’t you get it? I am the best possible choice for president! Trust me on this one! How to Stop Illegal Immigration

How to Stop Illegal Immigration  Steve Beren, January 7, 2008http://www.steveberen.com/1220769.htm l  The issue of illegal immigration and border security is one of the key issues in the 2008 congressional and presidential elections.     I am an immigration conservative, a fiscal conservative, a national security conservative, and a social conservative.  When the Republican National Convention meets in Minneapolis this summer, the platform adopted should remain committed to these policies and values.  They want secure borders, so they want an end to illegal immigration.  The American people want to be safe from terrorist attack, so they want a victory strategy in the war against Islamic fascism.  They want economic security, so they want taxes to remain low and spending sharply reduced.  And they want an optimistic moral vision about the future of this country.  The Democratic Party is an obstacle to these desires of the American people.  A renewed, reinvigorated Republi...
The Clinton Attack Machine Is In High Gear
2008-01-06 23:51:00
It is interesting how Hillary Clinton is leveling charges at Barack Obama that are the same charges leveled at liberals in general. She said time and again that words and feelings are not actions. She said that while he had been in favor of mandatory health care for children he opposed the same for adults and she called that “failing to go the distance”.Clinton charged Obama with inconsistency on health care and questioned his plan not to mandate that all Americans buy health insurance. Obama responded that there was a philosophical difference, saying he does not believe that a mandate is necessary because it is the cost of insurance that keeps people from buying it, not a lack of desire to do so.But Clinton immediately challenged him by pointing out that his plan includes a mandate that parents buy insurance for their children. "Because they don't have a choice," Obama replied."Well, they don't have a choice, and you're going to make sure that parents get health...

Hillary wants US to control Pakistans nukes
2008-01-06 17:51:00
Concern about the security of Pakistani nuclear weapons during this time of unrest makes sense. But Hillary making the suggestion that they cede control of it to America and Great Britain is not only arrogant but reveals the incredibly deep streak of socialism in her. It shows a willingness to use America as the world’s nanny. Granted that is not a whole lot worse than George Bush using America as the world’s policeman. This sort of thinking is the next logical step up form her socialist “It takes a village to raise a child” sort of socialist thinking. Liberals always always always think they are smarter and more capable of making decisions for people than the people themselves. Go to any place that liberals congregate online and you will see unimaginable arrogance and the willingness to manage every aspect of other people’s lives. And when you take a close look at those liberals so eager to run your and my lives youll see they have not really got their own acts together. Usual...
