Muslim Tradition and Law
2008-01-21 15:44:00
A twelve year old girl was taken hostage in Darfur by Janjaweed Militia. After being held for a while and serving as a sex slave, she was released after the Janjaweed determined she had become pregnant. She made her way back to her family. who were now living in a refugee camp. When it was found out that she was pregnant, yet un-married, in order to save the family from disgrace?and with a broken heart?her father thought that the best course of action, was to kill her. He did. Maybe it is my western mind, but I am having a hard time understanding this. Is that what God wanted ?? I think I would change my religion before I would kill my daughter.

Sub Prime Predatory Lending
2008-01-21 14:46:00
The U.S.A. is heading into an economic recession. Although we have been losing manufacturing and textile jobs due to corporate greed, hand over fist for the past decade and a half, that is not what is pushing us over the edge. The straw that broke the camel?s back was the predatory lending practices of some of the world?s largest mortgage companies. That is to say that they went out and found people, through advertisement, that were thinking about re-financing their homes, or new home buyers, and sold them adjustable rate mortages with low initial intrest rates, that would re-set at higher rates a couple of years down the road. Intrest rates that re-set at levels people could not afford to pay. The consequence of this has been huge numbers of foreclosures, incredible mortgage company losses and bankruptcies, elimination of available credit, increasing numbers of un-sold homes, and new home construction at a 27 year low. WE ARE JUST BEGINNING TO SEE THE DEVASTATION. 2008 and 2009 wi...

Construction Industry Expected to Go Into Slump
2008-01-18 01:52:00
According to recent reports, the sub-prime mortgage lending mess is expected to produce a 25% drop in new home construction this year. New building permits are already on the down slide. This is going to put a whole lot of construction workers out of a job. The experts say that so many un-employed, may tip the country into a recession. What the experts fail to recognize is that the New Home Construction Industry labor is over 80% Illegal Immigrants. If they lose their jobs, they will simply go home until the building picks up again. I don?t see it having that great of an impact on our economy. Yes?Contractors will be hurt, and may have to look for work, but their employees?not so. The problem is going to be with the Illegals that have brought their families here and don?t want to, or cannot afford to go home. And what are we going to do??? Give them welfare and food stamps, or let them starve. You know we won?t let them starve. I can tell you this?as the economy starts to hurt, and...

Democratic Self Destruction
2008-01-10 02:10:00
Why do the Democrats yell, hoop, and holler, about ?Taking Back The White House? and then vote for Billary or Barooma ?? If they nominate either one of them, they lost the General Election. I don?t get it. Don?t get me wrong, Edwards is just another ?tell em what they want to hear? politician?but at least he would have a snowball?s chance in hell of getting elected?White, Male, Nice Hair, Christian, Rich, Lawyer, Sympathy Vote..the whole nine? Female or Black?don?t matter to me?.like I said before?I?d rather have Condi Rice as Prez, than either Klit-un or Odooma??and she?s both?Female AND Black. Fact is?This election is the best shot in years to win the White House, and the Democrats have had eight long years to come up with a strong?winnable candidate?instead; they have been trying to shove the three stooges down our throats? Why didn?t they get their act together six years ago ??? It?s like they didn?t know there was going to be an election in 2008 !! ?? These people ...

How Are The Rich Getting Richer
2008-01-04 04:22:00
New York Times?;David Cay Johnston?s new book, ?Free Lunch? explains how corporate big shots and the politically connected are getting our tax dollars through incentives to develope real estate or locate businesses in our towns. Under the guise and pretense of bringing jobs into the community, the corporations lobby, coerse, and blackmail local governments for huge tax breaks. In fact, what happens is, the corporations, who are charging the citizens sales and other taxes, either directly or indirectly through other fees, through the agreement in the incentive plans, do not pass that tax money on to the governments. They pocket millions daily, and you never hear about it. Companies such as Wal-Mart, Cavella?s Sporting Goods, and others, make more money from the incentives, than they actually make doing business. Consider that the actual profit on a shirt is 2% of the price, but the sales tax (that they do not turn over) is 7% of the price, they actually earn, 9%. Even if they sell th...

Charge To Drive In City
2008-01-03 13:44:00
Following the lead set forth by London last year, Milan, Italy has instituted a fee to drive into the city. The idea is to decrease the traffic into the city, thus reducing pollution and congestion. The fee in Milan is about $15 per car, per day. The interesting thing about the news report, and the fee itself, for that matter, is that Hybrid Vehicles are exempted, as are total electric vehicles. WAIT A MINUTE?.Electric Vehicles ?? That?s right. it appears that there are quite a few totally electric vehicles wandering the roads of Europe. Gee?and we don?t have any here in the good ole U.S.A. I wonder why that is !!!

More On Gun Control
2008-01-01 15:33:00
When America was a Babe, the country was a vast wilderness. In many cases the only law was the law you carried in your hand. There was no police force to come to your rescue. Today, not much has changed in that respect. The cops don?t show up to prevent crime. They show up after the crime has been commited. The fear that the 7-11 clerk may be armed, does not deter many criminals. The fear that the home owner is armed is the only reason that you are safe in your home. But it still does not stop home invasions from taking place. If the criminals are certain that you are not armed, how safe do you think you will be in your home ??? No locks are going to keep them out when you are not home, and they won?t keep them out when you are. If the criminals can get to you before you can get to the phone?and even if you can?your saftey, and the saftey of your family is negated. Children have been snatched from their beds with the parents asleep in the next room. How many people have been awakene...

Finders Keepers
2008-01-01 14:42:00
A couple of BLOGS back, I mentioned the Building Contractor who discovered $182,000 in 1927 Bank Notes in a wall, and is now in court vs. the home owner over ownership. Collectors say the bills are worth a half a million. I also mentioned the guy in Florida who found $5,200 in a shoe?.. Well, in Liaoning Province, China, Qin Li was walking home and came upon a wrecked truck. Inside of the cab of the truck was a plastic bag. Inside of the bag was RMB 80,000 (about $10,000 USD) A FREAKING FORTUNE to a Chinese pesant. Chinese Coppers didn?t think Qin Li was very fortunate and they threw him in prison. He?ll stay there for the next ten years. Tough Break ?? Not so bad when you consider the poor slob in Guangzhou (old Canton). He tried to get a few Yuan from an A.T.M. machine. The machine mal-functioned and spit out RMB 10,000. (about 1,100 dollars) Of course he kept the money. Chinese authorities were not amused. They gave him ?Life In Prison?. I mean?what the hell would you do if ...

Gun Control
2007-12-31 14:59:00
The United States Supreme Court will rule later this year on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. The case they will hear involves the handgun ban in Washington DC. After a young man used a handgun to defend himself when his home was broken into by criminals, he was prosecuted for violating the ban. Gun control advocates claim that the second amendment was written for only a State?s Right to maintain a militia. What is generally ignored by that argument is, back when the Bill of Rights was written,(and even today) the only way to maintain a militia was to recruit soldiers from the citizenry. As our new government was not able to afford to arm the population, the people were required to supply their own firearms. It was not just a right to keep and bear arms, it was a patriotic duty. One had to be prepared to come to the defense of his country. Times have changed of course, and it is now more logistically efficent to have all soldiers use the same weapons, and use the same...

Stupidity Must Be Contagious
2007-12-24 14:45:00
Okay?A couple of weeks ago a contractor found $182,000, inside of a bathroom wall he was re-modeling. He turned it over to the homeowner. Later they found out that the 1927 Bills were worth over $1/2 million to collectors. The contractor is now in court to try to get his share. If he had kept his mouth shut he could have had it all. Yesterday in Vero Beach, Florida, a guy trying on a pair of shoes at the mall, found $5200, in one of the shoes. How do we know this??? He couldn?t keep his mouth shut. About twenty years ago, my girlfriend bought a sport jacket for me from the thrift store for one dollar. She brought it home and insisted I try it on. In the inside pocket was a wrist watch. Too bad it was a Timex and not a Rolex?Oh well?.

Sounds Of The Times
2007-12-23 18:13:00
In this world of cell phones. i- pods, and digital phones, we often are speaking on our cell phones to another party who is also on a cell. The phrase ?You are Breaking Up? meaning either the transmisson or the reception is intermitting, was at one time, only something that you would hear in the course of your job, and you had the misfortune of having to use the company two-way radio. Of course construction companies were notorious for buying the cheapest radio sets out there. Having spent a great deal of time in the construction business, and usually hearing the gruff voice of another construction worker on the hand set, I am now amused to hear my sister, wife, or sister-in-law use a phrase that, to be politically incorrect, {"I?m sorry. but you are breaking up."}. was a phrase used mostly by men. But of course, back on the construction site, it sounded more like? ? ER?UKIN?AIKEN?P ? ??ant.. ear.. ooo? ?oov? A? ane? (move away from the crane) ?ear ..knee?ter?ow? (Hear ...

England Overhauls Immigration System
2007-12-16 13:55:00
In an effort to curb illegal immigration, England is introducing some new measures. Not all of them are actually new ideas. For example; people wishing to visit relatives in England may be required to put up a cash bond. The United States already requires this of some countries. England will reduce the allowed time in country for tourists visas from 180 days to 90 days. (Same as U.S.). They will also offer a cash payment of about $8,000 to those that have failed to meet Asylum requirements, to leave the country. Critics say the cash payment incentive does a dis-service to the taxpayer, but the government says it?s a good idea because, under the current system, it costs about $22,000 to deport them. That idea may work for an Island nation such as England, but for the United States, that would be pissing money down a rat hole. No where in any of the new propsals did the idea of AMNESTY crop up. Gee, what a surprise. Why ??? Because AMNESTY is counter productive and the Europeans learn...

Illegal Immigration Becoming #1 Campaign Issue
2007-12-15 14:42:00
Illegal Immigration and Border Security are moving ahead of The Iraq Problem as the number one issues Americans are concerned about. No doubt, the question of allowing Illegals to attend institutions of higher learning and Highway Saftey (or the lack of it) has pushed the Illegal Immigration Crisis to the top of the agenda. Strange as it may seem, while the Reublicans have acknowleged the problem and, indeed, have been engrossed in some heated debate over it, the Democrats remain quiet about it, and in some cases seem to be ignoring it. Well, I?ve got news for Hillary, Edwards, Obama, and the rest of them? You had better wake up and smell the coffee. Americans want?#1) the Mexican Border SEALED TIGHT. #2) Illegals involved in criminal activity deported now. #3) No more Illegals to come into the country. #4) No more social welfare and free medical care for Illegals. #5) Begin deportation of Illegals. ...

Windmills and Tourism
2007-12-13 15:48:00
People in the United States and some other western industrialized nations are opposed to wind turbines because they say they will hurt tourism and destroy the views of the mountains and sea shore. The Dutch have been pumping water and grinding grain with wind power for over five hundred years. It dosen?t seem to bother them. Holland is still a popular tourist destination. When faced with national economic, and enviromental survival, it?s funny what people can get used to. We can take down all of the cell phone towers, but then, of course, your i-pod will be useless. You have got to give a little to get a little. We can take down Hoover Dam, but then, Vegas will go dark. It?s like that.

England And Wind Turbines
2007-12-10 15:38:00
England says it can produce enough energy with wind turbines along it?s vast coastlines that it can power every home in England by the year 2020. But the people can expect much higher electric bills? No kidding ??? Just how much does it cost to get the wind to blow ??? There is no doubt in my mind that, a little breeze at the beach, costs much more than a ton of mined coal that has been transported across the country. We all know that a Coal Fired or Nuclear Power Plant is much cheaper than a ?FAN ON-A STICK",? Right ???

The Hydrogen Fuel Cell
2007-12-09 18:03:00
I just want to put this in the record. You can research electro chemical energy conversion devices on your own. The focus today is the hydrogen fuel cell because it emits only pure H2O (water) and the electrons. Fuel cell technology is far from NEW. It was first proposed in theory way back in EIGHTEEN thirty eight, and the first working fuel cell was produced in EIGHTEEN forty three. Every automobile manufacturer on this planet can and has produced a fuel cell powered vehicle. Honda and BMW are finally bringing them to market. The German Navy has fuel cell powered submarines. Fuel cells can and are powering sattelites, laptops, telephones. and even running electric water pumps in remote locations. Between the fuel cell powered vehicle, which recharges it?s own batteries through a chemical reaction, conventionally rechargable electric vehicles, hydrogen/natural gas burning internal combustion engines, E-85 and bio-fueled vehicles, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WE SHOULD BE GIVING T...

$15,000 offered for "Green Card Marriage"
2007-12-08 14:33:00
Russian National, Yuliya Kalinina, thought the best way to stay in the good ole U.S. of A. was to marry an American Citizen. She offered 15 Grand on Craigslist for a husband, with the understanding that this was business and no sex was to be involved. Ben Adams took her up on the offer. This was a win-win situation. Ben gets 15 Grand and Yuliya gets her Green Card ?Not quite?Homeland Security didn?t like the plan. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested the both of them for immigration fraud?.Go Fiqure !!! Bobby Medlin ,31, of Fort Smith , Arkansas, got involved in an automobile accident and was taken to the hospital. They patched him up and told him that he needed to stay the night for obsevation. But Bobby wasn?t having any of that. He walked out of the hospital. A couple of hours later, Bobby passed out near the rail road track. A train came by and took Bobby?s arm off at the shoulder. Paramedics said the arm was too badly damaged to be re-attached.

The Democratic Solution
2007-12-07 13:42:00
Yep?Clinton and Edwards have a plan to provide Health Care Insurance to every single American. What is the Plan ??? Every American will be required by law to have Health Insurance. If you can not afford Health Insurance, the Government will buy it for you, and YOU will pay for it with your Income Tax Refund, Payroll Garnishment, or a series of Fines levied against you. It is called The Health Care Mandate. In other words, the Government will MANDATE, that you have Health Care Insurance, and it will be a crime, not to have it. That is the same thing as MANDATING that everyone buy a Mercedes-Benz, and if you don?t, they will buy one for you, and you will pay for it anyway. How do people this damn stupid get into a position to run for President ??? Don?t they have a clue that if the People could afford Health Insurance to start with, they would have it ??? The kid that shot up the mall said in his suicide note that ?He wanted to be famous? What was his name ??? I quess it wasn?t a very good plan. The News Media should adopt the policy of NOT RELEASING THE NAMES of people that pull this kind of crap. Then, the motive of ?wanting to be famous", will no longer enter into these complex equations. But?The Media in this country has to seize every detail, milk every story, and trample everybody?s right of privacy, because they think it is going to earn them a nickel. All in the misbegotten abuse of the 1st amendment, and under the banner of, ?THE PEOPLE"S RIGHT TO KNOW". Yes?The PEOPLE have a right to know?and they can go down to the HALL OF PUBLIC RECORDS, and find out, if they need to know?.In the meantime? "Dingy Harry"
2007-11-28 16:06:00
To borrow a phrase, ?Dingy Harry ? Reid has more pressing matters to attend to than the American people. Leaving important matters in the Senate still unresolved, he has taken the time this week to engage in a tour through several Latin American countries. . Why??one might ask. . Well, you see, it?s due to a ?stagnancy? in the current Administration?s policies regarding Latin America. . Oh?.I understand now?.another member of Congress that wants to act like he?s the President. Ding Dong! It?s not your job to set foreign policy?or execute it. Instead of purveying the seeming sadness of Latin America?s ?situation", how about working on some legislation to quell the influx of illegal aliens here. . Let me put it another way?.Dingy?baby?.if you?re gonna kiss somebody?s ass as part of what you see as the process?could they at least be Americans? . As a matter of fact?start now?.start here?.kiss mine. .

Brecky Boy still full of himself
2007-11-26 14:09:00
Yes, Breck Boy Edwards is still full of himself?and you know what that means?.stay upwind. . Just yesterday, while the Smirking One was in Rochester, NH; the Associated Press reported the following in part: . ROCHESTER, N.H. ? Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards learned the consequences of showing up late to a town hall meeting Sunday - detailed questions from voters who passed the time reading a 77-page policy booklet printed by his campaign. The booklet, which Edwards also distributed at events in Iowa, describes the former North Carolina senator?s plans in four areas: standing up for working families, ending the war in Iraq, building a better future for children and ensuring opportunity for all. But one voter suggested a fifth category: balancing the federal budget. ?We had good time to read your pamphlet while you were flying in. I love everything, but it seems to me that there is a Roman numeral five that might be missing,? she said. ?I worry that with you as the can...

Hillary confused
2007-11-26 02:21:00
It seems that Hillary is having a difficult time deciding which side of her mouth to speak out of??next. . Don?t be confused, she is fairly adept at using both sides, just not simultaneously. So, in an effort to come out with something seemingly definitive, Pillary has derided the Chinese for producing unsafe toys. She now tries to maintain a lofty position since the Chinese are striking back, declaring the Clintonesque statement to be ?slander". . Oh no! she cries. . While the ?Senator? is decrying the unsafe practices, which are deplorable, does she once mention that she has made no effort to improve the overall safety of toys for American kids?.or even kids of the world, since it legal in the US to produce lead embedded toys. Let?s think about this one for a while?..kids?.toys?..mouth?..hmm?.not good methinks. . Hillary! Plug in your brain first, then your mouth?..correct boot order, please. .

What's Going On With Electric Vehicles
2007-11-24 01:26:00
Here is a little insight as to what the real story is with Electric Vehicle Technology. Back in the late eighties, Honda with Panasonic, developed the Nickel Metal Hydride Battery for Electric Vehicles . The batteries gave the vehicle, for the average driver, a range of about 120 miles per charge. Careful drivers got up to 180 miles per charge. In 1994, General Motors bought control of the battery production. They did not put these batteries into their Electric Vehicle, The EV1 (1996-99). Instead, they installed the inferior Delco lead acid batteries. The range of the GM-EV1 was drastically reduced and GM declared that the Electric Vehicle Experiment was a faliure. You may recall that G,M. never offered the EV1 for sale. It was only available as a leased vehicle. In fact, none of seven the biggest auto manufacturers have ever brought an EV to the market for sale to the public. In any case, G.M. then sold the rights to the Nickel Metal Hydride Battery to, none other than, Texaco Oil. ...

Flood Of Legislation to Stop Illegal Immigrant Driver Lisence
2007-11-20 14:30:00
In the wake of New York Gov. Spitzer's failed plan to grant Driver 's Lisences to Illegal Immigrants, Senators have stated that Illegal Immigration is a "Federal Issue and should be addressed at the Federal Level"...as such, the following bills have been introduced in the Senate and House; Senator John Barasso (R-WY)-S:2334 would withhold 10% of Federal Highway Funds from any State that issues a driver's lisence to Illegal Immigrants. Rep. Vito Fossella (R-NY)- H.R.4160- Requires that States not issue driver's lisence until proof of legal residency has been received. States that do not comply; 4% loss of highway funds 1st year, 6% loss, 2nd year..and like that... Rep. Peter King (R-NY) & Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) H.R.4176- "Prevention of Unsafe Lisencing Act" Bars States from Issuing D.Ls. stating that issuing a driver's lisence to an Illegal Immigrant undermines the rule of law, rewards illegals with bona fide government documents, gives terrorists access to the airlines, opens...

Gasoline $3.00..., Where R The Electric Cars ??
2007-11-18 15:00:00
Actually... Electric cars, forklifts, golf carts, delivery vehicles, lawn equipment, have been here forever. Studebaker's first car, back in 1918, was an electric car. Today, the Venturi, will go from 0 t0 60mph in 3.9 seconds` and has a 250 mile range (costs 400 grand). The French Kangoo has been around for years and is now being re-developed for increased range. Mitsubishi and Subaru will be in Electric Car production in two years. Ford has Electric, Ranger Pick-ups, that have been on the road in California since the 90s. Whats the green foot-print ?? A gasoline engine that gets 25 miles per gallon will emit 22 lbs of CO2 and cost $3.00 to cover the distance. An electric vehicle will cover the distance emitting 7 lbs of CO2, use 5 Kilo Watts per Hour ( KWH ), and cost about 40 cents. Now...if you had a wind turbine in your backyard....you could re-charge your car for free, and driving to work, wouldn't cost you a dime... I wonder if that is part of the reason the government is n...
