The Nork Missile, And What It Indicates About Obama
2009-04-06 17:22:00 The business in North Korea was remarkable, over the weekend, in that the missle test was an abject failure, (Unless they reall planned on delivering the missle to the sea of Japan) and yet was a resounding success for Kim Jong Ill. Nork is claiming that they’ve launched a comms satellite… one that apparently uses a newly developed and perfected stealth technology, because nobody else on the planet can seem to locate the thing, despite NORK’s reports that it’s playing ‘patriotic songs’ We can understand where the inspiration for that comes from; Comminist China, whose Dong Fang Hong 1 bird played ‘The East is Red” for 26 days in 1970, before apparently running out of battery power, 28 days later… some 8 days longer a life than projected. However, unlike the North Korean bird, it’s still up there, and people could actually find it. Meanwhile the Wall Street Journal, just about the only paper left in New York St... Kos Jumps the Shark
2009-04-06 13:29:00 Tweeted by one Marko Moulitsas, a/k/a Kos: When we were out of power, we organized to win the next election. Conservatives, apparently, prefer to talk “revolution” and kill cops. Memorialized by Jim Treacher. Mother May I Sleep with Treacher, Hat tip and more: Ed Morrissey, Hot Air. Unfortunately, some sick people will use this tragedy for their political hobby horses. We’d like to think that only the idiots at the fringes would do so, but as my decidedly liberal and decidedly rational friend Tommy Christopher found out, that’s not the case. Markos Moulitsas twittered his list to blame the shooting on the conservative movement, and apparently joke about the murders: Maybe some libtards just have to drink the Kool-Aid. Unlike B.J. Clinton, Obama is not rushing to the Kool-Aid, at least with respect to the recent spat of shootings. Maybe Moulitsas just can’t control himself. In any case, I am neither shocked, nor disappointed by Moulitsa... More About: Shark
Blegging for Tyra Banks Dirt
2009-04-06 11:45:00 Bit I’ve always told you that Trya Banks was just Miss Andrea Sullivan in drag. Anyhow, Ms Banks seem powerfully interested in Bristol Palin’s sex life. Levi Johnston not only says he practiced safe sex “most of the time” when they were together, he also reveals to Tyra Banks that he believes Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin knew he and Bristol were having sex when they lived under her roof. “I’m pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart,” Johnston, 18, says in an interview set to air April We, at Bitsblog, believe that turn about always fair game. So we prepared to pay good cash money for any tidbits about Banks’ sex like. We will even go as high as half dollar, that fifty cents for you folks in Arkansas, for photographic evidence and whole seventy-five cents if picture is with an animal. No hampster shots please. Obama “Words Must Mean Something”
2009-04-06 02:06:00 Michael D. Shear and Craig Whitlock, Washington Post, quote the one as saying: “Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished. Words must mean something,” he said to loud applause. “The world must stand together to stop the spread of these weapons.” Sure BO, the only thing Obama ’s words mean is that his lying. Obama promises accept federal campaign funds, eliminate all earmarks, not to raise taxes on ninety-five percent of taxpayers, to post all bills on line for five days prior to signing, not to appoint knobbiests to government, etc. BitsBlog Tags: washington post, ninety five, federal campaign funds, loud applause, craig whitlock Related posts Gerhagty’s Law Redux (0) McCain Now Suggesting Offshore Drilling Wouldn’t be a Bad Idea (0) What Biased Press, Installment 1427 (0) who? Norks Launch Missile, Obama Issues Statement
2009-04-05 12:58:00 Norks launch missile, New York Times: SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea defied the United States, China and a series of United Nations resolutions by launching a rocket on Sunday that the country said was designed to propel a satellite into space, but that much of the world viewed as an effort to prove it is edging toward the capability to shoot a nuclear warhead on a longer-range missile. The one issues a statement: North Korea’s development and proliferation of ballistic missile technology pose a threat to the northeast Asian region and to international peace and security. The launch today of a Taepo-dong 2 missile was a clear violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1718, which expressly prohibits North Korea from conducting ballistic missile-related activities of any kind. With this provocative act, North Korea has ignored its international obligations, rejected unequivocal calls for restraint, and further isolated itself from the community of nations. We wil... The ‘Chia Obama’ will no longer be sold there. Walgreen’s spokesman Michael Polzin explained to FOX 13 that local store managers have the ability to purchase and market products — like the Chia Obama — on their own. But now, the corporate office has asked stores to pull the product from their stores because, he said, it is not appropriate for the company’s corporate image. (Image courtesy www.chiaobama.com.) The Americans (arrogant Version)
2009-04-04 23:18:00 Obama the unlearned one traveled to Europe to tell the unwashed masses that his fellow American were ‘arrogant’. Philip Sherwell, Telegraph (UK): His references to American “arrogance” and its “dismissive” attitude were viewed by some commentators as an unwarranted attack on his homeland while travelling abroad. In a speech in France, a country that has been a bastion of anti-US sentiment in recent years, the President said: “In America, there is a failure to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive. We were arrogant in 1775. 1944, and 1947. Ronald Reagan was arrogant, albeit with an Irish charm when said: General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, if you seek li... Binghamton Shooting the Work of the Pashtun, And Other Fairy Tales
2009-04-04 16:53:00 Joyner this morning, sounds rather incredulous, as well he might, when he relates to us the claim of Baitullah Mehsud: The diminutive Mehsud is considered the prime suspect in the murder of Benazir Bhutto and he’s taken seriously. But most are skeptical. of this latest claim. U.S. officials were not immediately available for comment about Mehsud’s claim, but Pakistani security analysts dismissed it as a publicity stunt. The New York Times quoted representative Maurice Hinchey, whose district includes the town of Binghamton in New York state where the shooting took place, as saying indications were the gunman was an immigrant from Vietnam. I suppose anything’s possible but it strains credulity that a Pashtun tribal leader has a network that includes Vietnamese immigrants in upstate New York. Indeed, just so, James. First of all, let’s look at what we know about the individual in question and see what fits. I live about three hours out of Binghamton. I’ve worked ... Obama’s Brownshirts
2009-03-31 14:38:00 I’d like you to look closely at S277. What we have here, is a bill mandating that you ‘volunteer’. First off, the idea of mandatory national service is a direct violation of the 13th amendment. I find it interesting that so many of the leftie loons who were against the military draft on the idea that it constituted involntary seritude, are behind this one. It’s OK, apparently to serve the government if the government is run by liberal Democrats. The effect, of course is an extension of the same effect every liberal Democrat administration has had for generations, now, on real charity; It will diminish the real charity work. It will diminish real chaity funding. Government is not charity, it is force. Further, what this thing also does is focus what people still decide to volunteer, into roles they would not otherwise take… ones that the government selects and approves of. Ask Catholic Hospitals if that won’t diminish the s3ervice they perfor... More About: Obama

Puffington Post Calls for Surrender
2009-03-30 16:44:00 Earl Ofari Hutchinso, Puffington Post : President Obama and the Democrats should wave the white flag in their strawman war on Rush Limbaugh. The Media Research Center delivered the grim casualty figures for the Democrats. Since January, the top talk show gabber’s ratings have soared off the charts. Radio affiliates that carry Limbaugh’s syndicated show call the ratings boost he’s gotten from the Democrat’s orchestrated attack on him a “dramatic surge.” This writer predicted as much when President Obama cracked to Congressional Republicans in late January that they should knock off listening to Limbaugh if they expected to get anything done in Congress and with his administration Surrender seems to be Barack Obama’s favorite idea. 2009-03-30 15:23:00 Andrew Breitbart, today at the Washington Time s: A digital war has broken out, and the conservative movement is losing. Read the comment sections of right-leaning blogs, news sites and social forums, and the evidence is there in ugly abundance. Obama Waves White Flag to Norks
2009-03-30 14:33:00 North Korea, the Norks, is preparing an illegal missile launch The United States has the capacity to shoot down the Nork missile, but has signaled we will not. Bill Sammon, Fox News: Appearing on “FOX News Sunday,” Gates said North Korea “probably will” fire the missile, prompting host Chris Wallace to ask: “And there’s nothing we can do about it?”"No,” Gates answered, adding, “I would say we’re not prepared to do anything about it.” Last week, Admiral Timothy Keating, commander of U.S. forces in the Pacific, said the U.S. is “fully prepared” to shoot down the missile. Why ND Should Disinvite BO
2009-03-30 13:11:00 Cardinal Daniel DiNardo on the University of Notre Dame should disinvite Barack Obama from giving the Commencement Address: I want to venture a comment on the recently released statement of the University of Notre Dame; that statement noted that the President has accepted an invitation to give the Commencement Address this year as well as receive an Honorary Law Degree. The news release then outlines the fact that a number of other Presidents have given the Commencement Address at Notre Dame and have thus highlighted, in effect, the university’s importance. I find the invitation very disappointing. Though I can understand the desire by a university to have the prestige of a commencement address by the President of the United States, the fundamental moral issue of the inestimable worth of the human person from conception to natural death is a principle that soaks all our lives as Catholics, and all our efforts at formation, especially education at Catholic places of higher lear...
There is No Excuse for Yglesias’ Ignorance
2009-03-30 12:20:00 ‘When we consider changing military policy, the should ask is “Will it help win war?” If the answer is “no” or even “we don’t know,’ then we should not make such change. Thomas H. Moorer, Admiral, USN(retired) Matthew Yglesias has his knickers in twist because Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, will not support over turning the Clinton era “don’t asks, don’t tell” policy: Robert Gates’ statement that we shouldn’t expect the Obama administration to fulfill its pledge to end Don’t Ask Don’t Tell anytime soon is highly disappointing: ... Kremlin (oops) White House Says Auto Exec Must Resign
2009-03-30 04:20:00 Mike Allen and Josh Gerstien at The Politico: The Obama administration asked Rick Wagoner, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, to step down and he agreed, a White House official said. On Monday, President Barack Obama is to unveil his plans for the auto industry, including a response to a request for additional funds by GM and Chrysler. The plan is based on recommendations from the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry, headed by the Treasury Department. The White House confirmed Wagoner was leaving at the government’s behest after The Associated Press reported his immediate departure, without giving a reason. General Motors issued a vague statement Sunday night that did not officially confirm Wagoner’s departure. “We are anticipating an announcement soon from the Administration regarding the restructuring of the U.S. auto industry. We continue to work closely with members of the Task Force and it would not be appropriate for us to speculate on the conte... More About: Kremlin

Real Conservatism Doesn’t Change
2009-03-30 00:58:00 While cruising the net this evening, I stumbled across a mission statement originally written by William F. Buckley Jr., at the then fledgling National Review. It’s byline announces November 19 of 1955. Now, the document is written with an eye toward anouncing the purpose of National Review as a publication , but it is also to my mind both a foundational and reinforcing document for the conservative movement in this country. (Granted, perhaps unintentionally so.) I would like you to notice how far away the Republican party has gotten from these great principles. I dare to suggest to you that the republican party has gotten itself into trouble to the exact degree with which they have parted with these principles. It is the job of centralized government (in peacetime) to protect its citizens’ lives, liberty and property. All other activities of government tend to diminish freedom and hamper progress. The growth of government(the dominant social feature of this century... More About: Change , Conservatism , Real

Obama’s Snake Oil Salesman
2009-03-29 14:11:00 There is one thing you can depend on with all oil salesmen, no matter what your ailment happens to be, the snake oil sales man will claim that his snake oil is just the cure. Robert B. Reich is a snake oil salesman. Reich’s particular brand of nnake oil is public policy. Note to snake fanciers, I not comparing Reich to a snake, just a snake oil saleman. A comparison of Riech to a snake would be unfair to the snake. Reich writing in the Wall Street Journal attempts to defend the one’s economics: Reaganomics surely marked the beginning of one of the longest bull markets in American history and generated enormous gains at the top. But its benefits were not widely shared. After the Reagan tax cuts, growth in the median wage slowed, adjusted for inflation. After George W. Bush’s tax cuts in 2001 and 2003, the median wage dropped. Meanwhile, an increasing share of total income went to the top 1% of income earners. In 1980, before Reagan took office, the ... Did CanuckCare Kill Natasha Richardson, Redux?
2009-03-29 01:33:00 Earlier, I said no. Now I inclined to believe that Canada’s health was not helpful to the late Ms Richardson . Ingrid Perez, Globe and Mail, offers a pretty good time line. I am less than impressed with the four hours it took to get Richardson to a trauma center. On the counter-point, Max Harrold, Vancour Sun, argues “Socialized medicine didn’t kill Natasha Richardson, says doctor.” As for me, if Barack Obama wnnts to go north of the border to seek his medical care, such is his right and choice. However, I say leave the Canadian healthcare systerm where it is, north of the border. Obama Throw First Amendment Under the Bus
2009-03-28 21:30:00 The right of a citizen to petition the state is fundamental, presumed to have been endowed by our creator. More over, all members of the public have a right to attend public meetings. Yet for reaons unknown to thinking man, the one, who claimes to have taoght constitutional law, demonstrates a pathetic ignorance of the Constitution of the United States, Kenneth P. The Left: Stepping on the Consumer
More articles from this author:2009-03-28 20:34:00 An interesting, and mostly unsurprising report from the New York Times this morning. Indeed, the only thing surprising about it is that it comes from the New York Times. Here’s some of it: SAN FRANCISCO — It sounds like such a simple thing to do: buy some new light bulbs, screw them in, save the planet. But a lot of people these days are finding the new compact fluorescent bulbs anything but simple. Consumer s who are trying them say they sometimes fail to work, or wear out early. At best, people discover that using the bulbs requires learning a long list of dos and don’ts. Take the case of Karen Zuercher and her husband, in San Francisco. Inspired by watching the movie “An Inconvenient Truth,” they decided to swap out nearly every incandescent bulb in their home for energy-saving compact fluorescents. Instead of having a satisfying green moment, however, they wound up coping with a mess. “Here’s my sad collection of bulbs that didn’t work,” Ms. Zuercher said ...
