She has been pictured in a People list of the "World's 50 Most Beautiful People" and in an arrest notice from Interpol, the international police agency. She has twice been the prime minister of Pakistan and twice been deposed amid allegations of corruption. Still beautiful and still accused, Benazir Bhutto, 54, returned to Pakistan ahead of the elections in October after living for the past eight years in exile in London and Dubai. Leaders of her Pakistan Peoples Party had been negotiating with the military government of President Gen. Pervez Musharraf on a deal that reportedly could have exempted her from prosecution and given her a share in the government. But the state of emergency declared by Musharraf Saturday night, ahead of an expected decision by the country's Supreme Court on the legality of his re-election as Pakistan's president in October, could impact these reported negotiations. Looking Back in my past.........
2007-12-24 13:23:00
I was walking fast when I realized that I had left something behind.I turned and searched anxiously everywhere but found it nowhere.I cold not believe it.It was a mistake on my part.If only,if only I could have hidden it well...protected it.... The chiming of the clock echoed in my ears when I realized that I was awake deep in my own thoughts. My past prickled my heart like a needle does a pincushion .When I thought about my past,it seemed that it was mottled with my fallacies, fallacies which still make my eyes stream. My tears were not like the rest but each one narrated its own story... I became restless and realized that I could no longer stay in the warm bed.I was forced to get up and my feet took me outside in the garden where the pretty flowers were sleeping. The shining stars did nothing to efface from my mind the memories of my past, instead I was desperate more than ever.I felt that I was lost in the darkness,it would soon overcome me.I tried to shuffle my feet ...

Dawn : Bring Our Ayaz Amir Back
2007-12-24 11:46:00
By Fahd MirzaI for one buy the Dawn newspaper of Friday just to relish the column of Ayaz Amir. For the last some years, I use to buy newspaper in the morning, read it from page to page, leaving his column for last. As I know that pleasure delayed is pleasure doubled. For the rest of the columnist, I read the web version, when I have time.Needless to say that Ayaz Amir is one of the leading columnists of Dawn for the last 20 years, and he has sparkled their Friday edition to limitless bounds. His timeless columns with awesome wisdom and immaculate prose coupled with witty and comprehensive remarks impossible to not to cherish.Dawn Group of Newspapers has asked him to leave the paper as he is also contesting the election from his Chakwal constituency. What a tyrant attitude of Dawn management, I daresay. I mean, why? He is not a government servant, who is taking part in politics, and if he would be that than there is a great example to follow at the top.I know the ground realities in...

The Declining Popularity
2007-12-24 08:38:00
Pakistanis saw a nightmare on 19th October 1999 when Mr Musharaf took over by over throwing Nawaz government giving rebound to the decision that he is no more an Army Chief and became the Chief Executive of Pakistan. We then heard of the slogan like good governance, corruption eradication etc.He then sent the elected President of Pakistan home with due respect. Then became President by himself. He also remained in uniform till this year end. During this 8 years period the country didn?t progress in any field of technology or in social support expect we progressed in Inflation, price hike, corruption, law & order weakness, making numerous by-laws to support a government etc.The term good governance etc were not supported by the acts they required. Many government or private institutions were occupied by the retired army officers, where they were not present before this government. These all acts made those terms/goals of good governance etc un-approachable. Then came the time when Ch...

Whose the Hitler now??
2007-12-23 15:03:00
How many of you have seen Godzilla? I can still recall the scene where the French spy was distributing weapons and uniforms of the American army among his fellow Frenchmen. He also gave chewing gums to every soldier. So that they appear hip or cool or fly Yes, that?s what we all have learn from Hollywood. That American action heroes and war veterans are fearless and valiant. Bruce Willis despite being a regular LAPD cop can hunt down international terrorists in the most crucial of the situations and at the same time can be so hip and utter cool dialogues like, ?Yippi kai yeh?. In this media controlled world that we are living in perception has a wider and unfathomable effect then ground reality.n 2006 a movie by the name ?Rang De Basanti? was released in India . The plot revolved around a group of friends and how they transformed in to the characters they were impersonating. Now we all know that Indian ideology revolves around Gandhi. But this film promoted Bhagat Singh?s version of...

Would you please tell us something about you?I am an Electrical Engineer by profession working currently with a government institution. Even though I wanted to be a sociologist or a college teacher, life was unfolded in such a manner that I am currently pursuing my PhD in Computer Engineering as a part time student. I keep moving all over Pakistan but currently stationed at Lahore.Could you tell us what made you decide to blog?I am an avid diary keeper since school days. I won't claim to have a passionate desire to write as inspirational writers usually do have; however, I have always loved to write myself out in order to gain clarity and organize a particular train of thought. Prime Minister Pervaiz Elahi
2007-12-22 08:36:00
I have never said it even in the worst times that I don?t want to live in Pakistan, but I don?t want to be in Pakistan if and when Pervez Elahi becomes the Prime Minister of Pakistan. I mean, really PML-Quisling is series about it?After all these nine years, when everything has been screwed publicly. When there is no law and order. When there is no food, water, electricity, gas, oil and other consumer goods. When there are no jobs and poverty is rampant. When suicide bombers are cut loose, and when bombs are blasting in Balochistan and NWFP, and when the sugar mills and flour mills of lotas are chugging along nicely, how in the world they even think about that even a semi-literate Pakistani will vote or vouch for them?Has the judgment of a Pakistani gone that much awry? Have we lost all our values, ethics, ethos, and senses to accept that man as our top leader? I am concerned about the judgment of our people, if I keep the history in perspective. But then hell, no worries at all.I r...

Engineering for Politics and Life, Part 2 of 2
2007-12-21 04:36:00
by Dan TowIf you missed Part I of this, here?s a link. I covered the principles:? Solve the problem within the current constraints of the actual world.? Never give up on solving the problem, but remain very open-minded about what is the problem.? You cannot choose reality ? what is, is.Part IIA solution to the problem that takes too long or costs too much is no solution. Any fool can build a bridge if money and time are unlimited. It takes an engineer to design one that is cheap and can be built quickly. Government can solve almost any one problem, with enough spending, but if solving the problem costs more than the solution is worth, for example, damaging the economy with high taxes to pay the costs, or with too much borrowing to (temporarily) avoid the high taxes, the government solution is no solution. Costs are particularly hard to ?weigh? when considering the pros and cons of some proposed government action, for a couple of reasons:? The money doesn?t come from the leaders? own...

Interviewing Ayman
2007-12-20 14:16:00
After doing the necessary business of acquiring goats by the usual means for this Bakra Eid, i came across the ?hilarious news? that Al Qaeda would be now conducting an open interview. Yes my friends.. good old Ayman will be answering your questions and has requested all media outlets and journalists to send in the questions to Al Sahab. Al qaeda?s media wing for their answers by his own holy self. He has also requested on several Jihadi web sites to keep the questions short and concise. So i thought since I have nothing to do at the moment here?s my list of questions and Ayman?s supposed answers to them in an imaginary interview. Where is Osama Bin Ladin?Assalam walikum dear brother in Islam, do you not engage in greetings, are you not a Muslim? What is wrong with you brother, Osama is in a safe place, no one knows where he is, not even me his 2nd in command. We like to keep it that way so we can never be captured. Why some days even he does not know where he is, we load his sheesh...
Justified Adjustment in Election 2008
2007-12-20 12:08:00
One thing the whole nation wants with vengeance is to see lotas of PML-Quisling getting defeated ignominiously. They are well aware of the already planned and arranged rigging tactics by the local government which are mainly the sidekicks of the PML-Q. People want opposition parties to forge union of some kind focus on defeating these lotas for good.It is for these lotas that we are suffering from price hikes, hoarding, unemployment, poverty, international insult, terrorism and all the other social evils. It is due to these spineless lotas who always hamper the democracy and who welcome dictatorship and thrive in chaos, gloom and anarchy. Now people are welcoming the efforts of PML-N, and PPP to make seat to seat adjustment in the elections to defeat the lotas. For example, it is very imperative to defeat Sheikh Rashid in Rawalpindi, but for that to happen, either Javed Hashmi of PML-N or Paracha of PPP has to step down as candidate. This is the situation in many constituencies. Many...

Murder of Gulgee
2007-12-19 12:38:00
Can you believe it? His paintings were full of life. His paintings where a masterpiece which were vivid and full of bonanza, which were put on with greater sensitivity and paintings resonate with intense and sharp feelings. Portions of the canvas sing with luminous lively color, thick blobs of paint pulsate with fiber-glass tears, the brush swirls strong and free. That was our Gulgee. He, his wife and a maid were murdered brutually at their home. Their dead bodies were three days old, when found, and thier death cause was strangulation. Who could do such a henious act? Its the death of art, and this gruesome incident has added more gloom to the already dismal national horizon.

National Requirement Begets Fair Elections
2007-12-18 14:55:00
Enough has been said about the boycott of the upcoming elections. Now as it seems that elections are going to happen on time and all the parties with some serious clout are going to participate in it, though some bitterly and some sweetly.Even Condi the beautiful has pleaded to our man who was on the horse back some days ago and has asked him to have these elections in free and fair manner, exactly opposite of his referendum. These elections are unique from the previous ones in the sense that the whole world, especially the United States is watching them with keen interest. These elections are similar as the previous ones as the same thugs, goons, smugglers, waderas, and suckers are once again their as candidates. Its not that important to mention that mumbler has also called it important and our President General ® Pervez Musharraf is also touting election?s critically, and PML-Quisling?s lotas are implying that election are key towards the road of progress and prosperity, of course ...
