I'd love your help in sorting this whole Blog Rush thing out. There has been much written lately about this latest widget to hit our blogosphere. Many people here on Active Rain have voice their concern with driving traffic away from their site and questioning whether it's a great idea or not. I like to keep an open mind since so many new tools and enhancements to blogging come to my attention daily. I have installed this widget on my Active Rain blog and my thought was that there are already 49,625 other member sites my visitors can easily check out so if I can pick up some extra traffic what's the harm. Clearwater Beach Florida ~ Private Boat Docks for BoatersSandpearl Condos and Resort received what some home owners are calling a sweet incentive to gets some boat docks built on city owned land in the inlet just east of the Sandpearl Condos. Developer Mike Cheezem plans to build docks on city-owned submerged land in the inlet shown in this picture which is near the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center. This would be for boaters buying condominiums at Sandpearl. The deal would allow the Sandpearl Resort to get 33 boat docks while they would build 21 more for Public use. In Clearwater Florida this is our rainy season. This time of year we experience thunderstorms most afternoons. With two young boys at my house there's nothing like a rain puddle to call their name. As I watched the rain drops fall this afternoon I watched how each small rain drop caused a ripple in the puddles.     &nb sp; Later today I was reading a post by Indy Real Estate Agent, Paula Henry, where she shared her successes and wrote how other real estate bloggers had helped her. Well after a long day at the beach we were reminded that there is nothing is better than cooling off at Ryan's Ice Cream & Yogurt with a truly decadent sweet treat. The funny thing is the name is a bit deceiving because they don't actually serve yogurt - but they do serve gourmet a large variety of ice creams, sorbets, shakes, smoothies, cakes, pies and even rainbow snow cones.  Ryan's is one of the 20 shoppes that makes up the The Shoppes on Sand Key - across the street many of Sand Keys luxury waterfront condos.The Shoppes on Sand Key are the only stand alone retail establishment on Sand Key so they get quite a bit of business from the people living and staying in the Sand Key...

So today I was thinking about how often we've all heard that, "all politics is local". Well this was even true here in Clearwater almost 95 years ago. When the Tampa Bay area was originally settled Clearwater, St Petersburg & Tampa were all part of Hillsborough County. Over time the people of now Pinellas County, known as West Hillsborough, started to feel that their tax dollars would be better spent here. Local leaders wanted more control and input on how their tax money was spent and pressure to secede from Hillsborough County grew.
