The newly elected President of United States Barack Obama discussed his $275 billion mortgage bailout to help the distressed borrowers. He talked about the issue of foreclosures as a national problem caused by the national decline in home prices. He said that they have to find out the root cause for the spread of high number of foreclosures. The president was also worried about the falling of home values in America. Obama added that there is no national market for homes and no national prices for homes. The situation is such that entire United States has to pay for the folly of few. The president announced that the beneficiaries of taxpayer charity will be highly concentrated in just five states - California, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and Michigan. That is not because the subsidized homeowners are poor because Californians with $700,000 mortgages cannot be said to be poor.
