If you are on a house hunt, make sure you carry this page with you and do not buy a flat — if you want it to be legal, that is — on a plot bearing any of these survey numbers. For the first time ever since the forest land issue recently broke out, the survey numbers have been made exclusively available to DNA. Mumbai collector Vishwas Patil maintained, “We have equipped the sub-registrar’s office with survey numbers which guide people on whether their plots fall on forest land or not.” The collector’s office has been emphasising people to thoroughly scrutinize the papers instead of depending on private agents or sales managers. Residents, on their part, want the government to identify housing complexes on private forest land. That, the government feels, will be an onerous task. I met with few builders/developers who were offering flats for 3500/sf to 4000/sf in Kharghar with a potential to go upto 5000/sf to 5500/sf by the end of next year. I am planning to invest in a flat in Navi Mumbai area and looking for some advice from people who have invested. Is it a good time to invest in that area? What are the potential pitfalls? 2008-04-03 13:58:00 Hi, I had puchased a flat in Ghansoli navi mumbai from a reputed builder. He had given me the list of payments I was suppose to do, like parking, MSEB, society etc. As per that I had made all payments. but now at the time of pocession he is asking me to pay Rs 40000 advance maintenence of 18 months(which he earlier said need to be paid monthly) & 30000 for grill (which he had never mentioned). Now i m ok with maintenece charges but I don't want grill which he is insisting me to pay unless he won't give keys. Has anyone gone through such situation, if yes then pls let me know how did you managed it. Also is there any government cell for real estate issues where we can take up such issues.
