Central Florida Real Estate Luring Overseas Investors!Foreign investors have put more that $120 million into property in Central Florida between January and June 2007, this is more than double last years $54 million, also the investment is not just in vacation homes but on apartments,  retailing and office space and more! Orlando has become the 19th largest market for investment for the foreign dollar in the nation and the largest in the Sunshine state.For the whole of 2006 the figure was just over the priod of the first and second quarter of this year at $130 million making it 27th in the nation but this is a far cry from 2004 where it had a record year of $222 million investment in real estate from foreigners making it 15th in the nation!Overall this investment is dwarfed by the investment by Australians, who have invested $7.7 billion nationwide in real estate this year!All of this foreign invesment is driven by the weak dollar, which for UK buyers has reached historic lows ...

The famous Peabody Hotel on International Drive hopes building work will begin soonThe Peabody Hotel on International Drive has long planned to expand its room number due to its proximity to the Orange County Convention Center, The plans which have been in the pipeline for around a decade include building a 32 story tower with just short of 1000 more rooms, which will overshadow the exisiting 27 story tower. More parking and facilities are planned including a walkway 'skybridge' over International Drive to the Convention Center on the other side. This is great news as development of International Drive Continues more convention quality hotel rooms are sought. The huge structure which can be seen for miles is to revert to its original lookEpcot purists are rejoicing that the Mickey Mouse hand and Wand along with the stylised lettering 'Epcot' are to be removed. The silver sphere will revert to its oringinal shape as Epcot purists state that the 50 ton hand and wand structure which was put in place for the Disney millenium celebrations in 2000 has served its purpose was not part of Epcots true design and image. The latest Real Estate Technology in the USA unheard of in the UKAn unheard of technology in the UK due to radio wave broadcasting/licensing restrictions is a hit in the USA. Despite FCC regulations in the US on the usage of radio waves a company 'ActRadio ' has developed - and been using for many years - a value added real estate marketing tool which works within these restrictions. Their 'Talking House ' application uses a transmitter which is no larger than a common household VCR that broadcasts audio over AM radio over just a few dozen yards in a continuous loop for buyers who are driving by a property to tune in to hear more about the homes features. You will know that the property has this technology by an additional sign to the usual 'For Sale' garb, a sign with 'Talking House' or words to that effect will state a AM band frequency to tune into..once you turn on your radio and tune in you can hear valuable - and most importantly, memorable - information on the property....

New population statistics released show that the growth isn't uniform!Whilst most cities in Central Flor ida are on the grow - especially the Four Corners area - some cities in Seminole County - north of Orlando, have seen a decline, but ot by much, most of this has been caused by the lack of annexation by the cities to new communities outside of the city boundaries. - Altamonte Springs for instane lost 408 residents last year, however with 1200 people moving to the state everyday these numbers are dwarfed by the influx of newcomers.However in terms of population growth the City of Orlando itself increased its number by 6936 last year to a total now over 220,000 as part of the Orlando Metro area which encompasses 2 million people! Other top growers on the list included Winter Garden, Kissimmee and Sanford - as well as Apopka who has its large scale annexation to thank for the growth numbers.Florida has two of the fastest growing cities in the nation - Port St. Lucie and Cape Coral. ...

As a $2 Pound approaches again experts ask..can it remain?After the headline grabbing news only weeks ago about the pound breaking the $2 mark and remaining there for a length of time the rally has started again, although a little quieter this time. Experts therefore pose the question, can the pound remain at this level long term? The answer is a difficult one, the mood is uncertain and with a lack of US data makes it hard to say. The sterling did not make headway nor retreat at the opening of markets on Monday. However with an expected Bank of England Rate Increase next month it could mean a gain for the sterling. Only time will tell. The difficulty is to know what to do. Do you wait? Or do you buy dollars at around $2 to the pound?
