New Delhi, India, November 14, 2007 - Shri Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, has stressed on developing new infrastructure for the healthcare sector in view of the tremendous opportunities that are available for public-private partnership. Speaking at the 4th India Heal th Summit “Healthcare Engagement: Strategies and partnerships” here today, the Minister said: “Large windows of opportunities are opening up. To give just one example, Indian medical tourism was estimated at $350 million in 2006 and this has the potential to grow into a $2 billion industry by 2012”.

New Delhi, India, November 13, 2007 - The National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC) has grown to become the big Public Sector Company having a recorded turnover of Rs. 1514 crore for the financial year 2006-07. This was stated by Shri S.Jaipal Reddy, Urban Development Minister at a meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee attached to his Ministry here today. The subject of discussion was NBCC. Shri Reddy said that while improving its performance consistently, NBCC has paid back maiden dividend to the Government. NBCC has also been awarded: The top ten PSU Award for 2004-05 and 2005-06 and the best turn around company Award by the Prime Minister of India.

New Delhi, India, September 20, 2007 - Shri Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, has stressed on constructing more rail lines and improving their gauges for the development of industrial nodes being taken up under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Project .   In his communication of 19th September to the Rail way Minister, Shri Kamal Nath has focussed on the crucial need for the development of rail networks especially in Madhya Pradesh where the rail route kilometer length is much less than the neighbouring states.   This is needed to ensure that the DMIC Project gets on stream as per the schedule and benefits reach to the stakeholders.  The Commerce and Industry Minister has identified the following rail works that need to be sanctioned or the work expedited through higher allocation of funds:
