National Capital Region Planning Board meets; approves plan outlay | INRnew

New Delhi, India, August 21, 2007 - The National Capital Region (NCR) Plan ning Board at its meeting today has approved a total plan outlay of Rs.1469 crore for 2008-09 on account of providing loan assistance to the participating states of U.P, Haryana, Rajasthan and NCT of Delhi and for undertaking studies, surveys and meeting expenses incurred in preparation of sub-regional plans and functional plans. This was stated by Shri S.Jaipal Reddy, Minister of Urban Development who chaired today’s meeting. The borrowing programme of Rs 900 crore for the above purposes has also been approved. The Board approved the proposed financing plan for the 11th Five year Plan involving loan assistance of Rs. 11000 crore for infrastructure projects for which the Board will be accessing funds to the extent of Rs. 8000 crore from the International Aid Agencies like World Bank and Asian Development Bank.

New Delhi, India , August 21, 2007 - The Government is committed to create a network of world-class airports in the country with a view to establishing India as a global aviation hub.  Measures have been taken to augment capacity as a result of which additional capacity to handle 601.05 lakh passengers per annum on the domestic sector and 301.80 lakh passengers per annum on international sector is under construction and is likely to be commissioned within the next two – three years. This information was given by Shri Praful Patel in a written reply to a question.
