Just before Christmas, Steve and I met in St. Louis for a couple of days. A few days ago I posted two video clips from one of Steve’s rehab projects on Texas Ave. Today I bring you video #3 - your first look at the “after”! These are clips from the new content added to Rehab bing for BIG Cash, Version 2.0 (comes out in a few days). The actual DVD has a lot more than you see on these clips, but I’m glad to be able to put these out for you to enjoy. A few weeks ago I posted a clip for you from a new video project we just finished — a set of “how to” videos detailing one of Steve’s fix-and-flip deals on Texas Ave. (It’ll be included with Steve’s new Rehabbing for BIG Cash, Version 2.0, releasing in a few days.) Today I saw something truly inspiring, and I’d like to share it with you. This just came across my desk this morning, but it’s the perfect follow-up to yesterday’s “hit by train” article from Craig. I’m not sure, but I think it’s a short clip from the movie “Facing the Giants” (I’ve never seen it). Honestly, it started off a bit cheasy in my opinion. But I trust the source (Hat Tip: David Frey) so I knew to hang in there for something good. I’m just so glad I did. By the end, my eyes were welled with tears, and my heart was swelling with fierce, newly-inspired determination. Mortgage Meltdown: Alluring Us With Their Sexy-Talk?

Well apparently the long arm of the FDIC has bitten another big mortgage get-up. According to the Associated Press today Netbank, a big player in online banking, had it’s sizable doors closed Friday by federal regulators due to ”an excessive level of mortgage defaults”. (Hat tip to Cory Boatright for the article.) Now I’m not one to start projecting what kind of impact I think this will have on the overall real estate market or on real estate investors specifically. There are others out there already doing that-a-plenty. (Although for the record, I think it’s just another piece of the very interesting puzzle of today’s RE market, but nothing to wax ulceric over.) But one thing in the article that really jumped out at me was this statement… Loose mortgage standards in recent years — especially among lenders catering to sub-prime borrowers — have resulted in a spike in home loan defaults.
